I can't say enough great things about this property. First, it's a beautiful house that opens up to beautiful courtyards and gardens. It's indoor/outdoor living which is perfect for Antigua's great climate. Also, great kitchen, spacious bedrooms with nice beds, nice bathrooms with hot water, and a beautiful area on rooftop with great views of Vulcan de Aqua and Vulcan de Fuego ( incredible place to have coffee in the morning. The pictures don't do this place justice. its much better. Last, Miriam the caretaker/housekeeper was always accessable and very nice and helpful. I highly recommend this Air bnb. I like staying in nice places and then place was five star and affordable, especially for three couples....

Diana’s home in Antigua Guatemala was one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. The house is absolutely pristine and a perfect example of beautiful indoor–outdoor living. The courtyard garden feels like a dream—bursting with bougainvillea, lush greenery, and fruiting vines. At night, the amber garden lighting makes everything feel warm, magical, and peaceful, and the view of the garden from the living room is breathtaking. The rooftop terrace was another favorite spot, with incredible views of the surrounding landscape and even an active volcano in the distance. Truly an unforgettable stay.

The house is beautiful. The location is great. We loved our stay. The one thing I would say is the house is very much indoor/outdoor living. We loved our stay that but if you want screens on your windows and hallways to walk through this may not be for you. If you love open living this is the place for you! The grounds are great and the house keeper was very nice.

This was home was beautiful. Everything is close by. You can walk to everything. Felt extremely safe. Beautiful views from the terrace. Miriam was the most amazing host, she made our stay an 11 out of 10!

The home was really lovely. Like many homes in Antigua, it features a central open courtyard, with a beautiful fountain and garden with mature plants and trees. Each bedroom opens to the private courtyard, and the other living areas are open to it too -- so with the exception of the kitchen, which is tucked in the back of the home, the house is very open which takes some getting used to. But it is well-appointed, and the house manager, Miriam, was wonderful to work with; as we are not Spanish speakers, she helped us with everything we needed using Google translate on our phones. A big plus was having access to large tanks of bottled water for drinking and fans for each room. The rooftop deck was a great feature -- relaxing surroundings with beautiful views of the mountains.

This could very well be one of the most beautiful airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in. I was blown away by the interior and rooftop. The host Miriam was absolutely AMAZING, so responsive and helpful to all our questions and needs. The location is also so perfect, 5-10 minutes to great restaurants, bars, and cafes. I will be recommending this spot to others that plan to vacation in Antigua.

This Airbnb was truly amazing. The roof had great views and it was very walkable to a lot of different places. I 100% recommend this to anybody. This Airbnb made me feel like I was in Antigua. Host is super sweet and responsive. We would definitely come back again!

Excellent location and beautiful property.

What a wonderful place! We especially loved the courtyard setting, spacious living areas, and rooftop patio. It was very tranquil setting, but still an easy walk to the Antigua attractions. Very responsive host, and Miriam is nearby to help with any questions. Highly recommended.

Our group (3 couples) loved our stay and would absolutely stay here again. The common rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. The private courtyard was lush and colorful, and the rooftop was a fun place to see sunset and Antigua's views. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable, as well, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and anything you would need to enjoy and relax. Miriam (the onsite house manager, who has her own space and was not intrusive or awkward) is wonderful and a great hostess, making us feel comfortable and cared for. This was an absolutely lovely stay.

The home was beautiful & pristine. The design of the home with the open courtyard was so breathtaking. Amazing views on the roof plus who doesn’t love a hot tub?? We can’t wait to return to Guatemala & will definitely be staying in this amazing home again. The location is perfect, within walking distance of most everything in Antigua. The hosts answered all of our questions (there were a lot lol) & helped us arrange transportation to and from the airport. Honestly could not recommend a better house or host if you’re in Antigua!

Staying in Antigua was an absolute dream. The villa is stunning, stylish, and full of charming details. The rooftop jacuzzi with views of the erupting Fuego volcano was the ultimate highlight. The location is perfect—peaceful, safe and just a short walk to the central park. A huge thanks to Miriam, who was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Highly recommend this beautiful gem!

This place is AMAZING! My friends and I stayed for a week and it was the best time. Incredible location, helpful host, great amenities, super comfortable beds. Our host made us feel right at home. Loved the private bedrooms and common spaces for us to all hang. Rooftop view of the volcanoes each morning was my favorite.

Out of my 10 day stay in Antigua this was my FAVORITE vacation rental. The home is beautiful! The garden is gorgeous! The property was very well maintained. The host was super accommodating and friendly. I easily walked to go sight seeing, restaurants, the Square and shops. I would definitely visit again!

Everything about this home was just as described. The home was beautiful with lots of space for a family. The host was amazing very attentive and friendly will definitely recommend to everyone. The home is perfectly located in the center of Antigua and walking distance to everything.

My family of four had a great week at this AirBnb. We were attending Spanish school at a program around the corner, which made this a great home base for that and for exploring Antigua as well. Communication was great. We would stay here again.

El Retiro is a beautiful, well kept, villa in the middle of the south east quadrant of La Antigua, the one with the best kept historical monuments, great mid to high range restaurants, and walkable streets (no high-heels or strollers of course, it’s Antigua). Attention to detail was great in the listing and Miriam’s on site help was very nice

The house is wonderful, the location perfect to get to know La Antigua, everything is perfect. Impeccable check-in friendly. I recommend staying in this house which is an inversion experience of this City..We stayed wanting to stay longer and I will definitely stay here again.

I can’t say enough about the beautiful home in Antiqua! The pictures were spot on and the place was so clean. Miriam the house keeper was always there when you needed her but you never knew she was there when you didn’t. She was so friendly. We don’t speak Spanish and didn’t have a problem communicating with her on translate app. The house was a perfect location to watch one of the Holy Week possessions. We opened the door and there it was. The people in this town were so friendly and helpful. Always ready to recommend a local restaurant (one as small as 4 tables and it was the best food of my life). You must go to Le Gome Dor. Turn left out of the house and it’s down on the left. Amazing. We wanted a true Guatemalan experience by staying in this house and it was just fantastic. We watched fireworks from our rooftop and on less cloudy days the volcano was right in front of you. Would certainly stay here again.

Beautiful, stunning and well kept house . Otto and Diana were quick at responding. As it was a girls trip and we wanted to ensure utmost safety, Diana helped answer all our questions and also helped with transportation to and fro the airport. Miriam (the in house helper) was helpful and was always around to fix any questions/issues we had. Lovely place and would definitely return back.

Great place and beautiful gardens

Miriam is incredible. She is very sweet and respectful of your space and needs. The location is close to the busy downtown while still being quiet and restful. The roof top is incredible, the beds comfortable and the home gorgeous. We will be returning next year. The house is clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed the days we had in this casa in Antigua. We will leave a 5 star review as everything met or exceeded our expectations. Housekeeper Miriam was attentive to our requests and provided a welcoming reception. Host arranged a van for our ride to Guatemala City airport. All in all a very well presented and very impressive Airbnb.

We absolutely loved our stay at Otto’s place. Truly one of the best airbnbs in Antigua. It was a great location, clean, and comfortable. Miriam was incredible and such a big help through the week as well.

The house is just lovely; a classic Antigua home in the heart of all the city has to offer but far enough from the hustle to allow for quiet. There are tons of amazing restaurants nearby and the central square and shopping are only a 10 minute walk. You can watch Fuego Volcano puff from the rooftop balcony and the attendant is responsive to your every need. We have visited Antigua with friends each year for the last six years and finally found our favorite spot. We will most certainly be back!

Thank you very much Otto, we enjoyed your property, I think it must be mentioned that everything is clean. The only one factor that is not within your reach is that the main room is on the side of the street and the noise interrupts the rest and having no air conditioning was a little hot. The terrace is beautiful and everything is very clean and comfortable.

Incredible old world charm. Clean and comfortable, with tasteful design. Otto’s place exceeded our expectations. Miriam is a total gem and only enhanced our experience. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The open air layout and location was excellent. The front bedroom did have a little street noise one night but nothing the fan couldn’t quiet. 5 stars!

Our stay was excellent. The hosts were very responsive and kind in their communication. Myriam, who lives onsite with her daughter, was a sweetheart. We loved having her there, yet she stayed in her part of the house so you still had privacy. The house was immaculately clean and the common areas were nice to hang out in. We appreciated being able to do laundry and my kids loved the hot tub on the roof that Myriam kindly organized for us. I would definitely stay in this airbnb again when visiting Antigua!

It was a great stay!!Conveniently situated walking distance to everything in town.The house garden is beautiful, every room is as pictured, the details are even better, all the decorations are very tasteful ~ ~ The housekeeper will always be behind the yard and will not bother us and find her quickly when needed.All in all, we had a very pleasant and satisfying stay. Next time I go to Antigua with friends, I will definitely choose this place again!
