We loved this place! I had family members from 8 years old through 78 years old with me and everyone was happy! It was about 15 min walk to El Centro which was perfect- close to walk to everything but far enough off the centro to be peaceful. The courtyard and outdoor space was amazing. Also, it was 2 blocks to La Merced market where we got any food we wanted - beans, fruits & veggies, yogurt for breakfast, etc. I would love to stay here again!

We loved our stay! Our party included 4 adults and 5 kids and all enjoyed their stay. Our families were able to relax, get in some pool time and soak in the beauty of the property. The location is walkable and close proximity to many great restaurants and cafes. Cleaning staff was awesome and non-intrusive. Host was attentive and responsive to our needs. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely spot right by the center of the city. Easy to walk to the Zocalo and restaurants. Mariana was very responsive and helped us out a few times. She had great recommendations and we used Carlos for a trip and he was amazing. The pool was great for the kids. The garden of the house was beautiful and the pool was warm.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The home offers a beautiful, unique, and clean retreat in a quiet neighborhood walkable to the city center. Lots of good restaurants, taquerias, and cafes a short distance from the house. We would absolutely stay here again.

Extraordinary place, totally recommended and very friendly

Amazing experience in a beautiful hacienda! The house and gardens made our time at home part of the experience. Swimming pool, hammocks and outdoor dining. A few nights we Uber Eats’d just so ghat we could spend some nights dining on our patio. Location was walkable to everywhere, but when we needed an uber or taxi it was an easy pickup location. So many little cafes, restaurants and artist shops nearby. The hosts met us and gave us a walk though and left some refreshments and snacks for our first day. Also perfect for people who value separate rooms that each have private bathrooms. AC was a bonus but I didn’t use it. Will book again if ever go back. But, take some earplugs, there were fireworks in the neighborhood every night for the entire week! Thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay—this place is even better than the pictures! The location is perfect, within walking distance to Centro, which made everything so convenient. A big bonus was the daily cleaning service—it made our stay feel extra comfortable and relaxed. Mariana was an exceptional host. She welcomed us with drinks and went above and beyond by recommending Carlos, who we used for airport pickup and excursions—he was fantastic and very reliable. We would absolutely come back, especially with a large group. The only small note is that with many people, the warm water can take a little time, but it didn’t take away from an otherwise amazing experience.

A perfect oasis in a great neighborhood: fabulous water garden and landscaped spacious courtyard allowing for sitting areas, outdoor dining, pool area, and even a couple of marvelous hammocks — all open to courtyard but with a sense of privacy. Wonderful host and good people working at the property. It was the birds and the bees! We could not have asked for a better experience or city. We feel grateful to have stayed there - that kind of place - such an easy sweet vibe.

Marianna assisted us with transportation from an to the airport or bus station. Carlos agave su awesome tips on restaurants and things to do. The house was cleaned daily and the amenities were endless!

We loved our stay! Beautiful hacienda and enjoyed spending time outdoors and swimming in the pool in the afternoons. Was great for a larger group, extended family to have plenty of room to spread out! Quiet and relaxing! Also, we had a wonderful driver & tour guide, Carlos! Mariana connected us with Carlos and he was a fantastic guide. Highly recommend scheduling a private tour with Carlos!

This house has everything you need, with special touches like aromatherapy, drinks & snacks. I can’t think of one thing that needs improvement.

The pictures don’t do this place justice. This place is an oasis in the middle of my favorite town. The rooms are restful caves, set far away from the street. The pool is a welcome luxury in the hot part of the day. The kitchen had everything we needed. I will always treasure my memories of relaxing in the courtyard with the early morning birds. Host was very responsive. I will stay here again.

Wonderful stay for a group of friends. Each room having a bathroom was a plus. The complimentary daily housekeeping was great. We also opted for breakfast each morning and the food and service was amazing. The courtyard and pool are understated in the photos. Courtyard is very large and an oasis. Walkable by 15-20 minutes for everything you need.

We loved our stay at Mariana’s. Location was great. The place was absolutely beautiful. We had housekeeping and laundry service every day which was a pleasant surprise. Absolutely no issues with her and would definitely stay again if I return. Response time to emails was almost immediate. I could find no fault with the place. She even had snacks and drinks waiting for us.

Incredible accommodation in the heart of Oaxaca, everything is perfectly designed for an excellent rest and coexistence. The entire Casana team are extraordinary people who do everything possible to make the experience extraordinary. The single rooms with their own bathroom and all the necessary amenities make the stay very comfortable even if you travel in a group or with a large family. The pool is kept warm at a very pleasant temperature. The pond in the center of the house provides an incredible feeling of relaxation. The strategically placed hammocks, a dream. The location of the house is perfect, you can walk to downtown, there are many places to eat, cafes and galleries really close by. The kitchen is fully stocked and even has a washer and dryer. Mariana's attention when you arrive home is extraordinary, giving you the opportunity to freshen up and relax.

We stayed a week and the house was perfect for our family of 7 spanning 3 generations. Each room has its own bathroom and walk in shower and opens to the large central courtyard and pool area. We enjoyed hanging out there in the hammocks under the portal and swimming in the pool. A perfect place to come back to after exploring the city and surrounding areas. The Japanese restaurant in the same block is not to be missed. We had one of the freshest and most unique meals of our stay there. It's an easy 15 min walk to el Centro from the house and the house is located just south of the arts district with beautiful murals and artist shops. The house keeper came everyday keeping everything very clean including the kitchen when we used it. We had a great stay and hope to return again.

Mariana’s place was perfect! Private living areas and bathrooms for each guest. Beautiful courtyard with pond and pool to lounge at. Walkable to downtown but far enough away to be quiet and serene. Mariana was very attentive and quick re respond to any questions, cleaning and grounds staff made sure the grounds were always comfortable and safe. Found the best food in all of Oaxaca less than a block away, I don’t want to give away our secret spot but it was Japanese food 😃

I booked Mariana's place for my 30th birthday trip, and her place was such a lovely home for my friends and me during our stay. It was exactly as pictured, and in fact, all of my friends and I agreed that it looked even better than the photos. There were 4 rooms, each with their own bathroom. Each bed was a queen size mattress, and each room came furnished with a table for those of us who had to work remotely during part of the trip. Each room had it's own AC-unit. The bathrooms were clean, and the water was hot. The water pressure itself was decent. The Wi-Fi was sufficient to take work calls without issue. The space was clean, and the little pond-garden in the center was so stunning. The flowers and plants throughout the space were well taken care of. Also, during our stay, we had Raquel who fixed our beds and cleaned our rooms *every morning*, and Efrain who maintained the cleanliness of the patio and the pool. All things considered, I'd stay here again. 10/10 recommend!

Our group of eight (ranging in age from 4 to 74) spent almost a week at Mariana’s beautiful place. Perfect location, walking distance to everything but somehow quiet; spotlessly clean and comfortable. Mariana is extremely helpful and communicative. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Casana. We were kindly greeted by Mariana upon arrival, along with the house personnel. Although the outside of the location is unassuming, the entry way and courtyard are impressive, including a private pool. The entire space was very well maintained and each room was well appointed, including the kitchen which we used extensively. The washer and dryer are super-handy, too, allowing us to pack less clothes so we could return home with all sorts of artisanal finds. After being out and about in Oaxaca every day, Casana felt like a private personal oasis to rest and relax. The location is very walkable to the town center, and just far enough away to feel like you're seeing normal day-to-day life in Oaxaca. It was all around a great experience, and we would happily stay at this location on our next trip to Oaxaca!

Beautifully furnished and designed I spent a few hours just looking at the architecture and decor. There were 2 employees ready to help at all times and helped us keep the place clean. would definitely recommend and return!

We had a family of 8. Beds very comfortable. Was a hacienda style place. Very open and private. Noise was minimal even though close to center. Staff was great and it felt very comfortable and relaxed.

If you're traveling to Oaxaca with a large party I don't think you can do better than Casana. The property is even better than the images depict, spacious, and the excellent staff keep all the common spaces clean and ready to use. Mariana is also extremely responsive and eager to help. Could not recommend this place more.

What a lovey spot for our family to gather and have a home base as we explored Oaxaca. It was perfect for us and we loved our time there. Mariana was helpful in her recommendations and there was never a need to contact her during our stay as the home provided everything we needed. It was also so very nice to have Raquel to clean for us and Efrain to manage the pool and outdoor spaces. We highly recommend this spot for travel to Oaxaca.

Casana is a beautiful space and makes a great home base for exploring Oaxaca. Mariana and her staff are very communicative and available. Echoing prior reviews, this is THE place to stay if you have a larger group, needing/wanting relaxing (and beautifully authentic) space but also fantastic proximity (10-15 minute walk) to Zocalo and surrounding restaurants and sites. Daily cleaning and onsite caretaker was an unexpected bonus. La Merced mercado just around the corner was a frequented treasure for breakfast stalls and the freshest ingredients for meal or snack prep. Great communication with (and helpful tips from) Mariana throughout the lead-up to our stay. Do not hesitate to book this very special spot!

This was honestly one of the best AirBnB stays we’ve had. The place is just as described, actually better, and was the perfect way to end a day of exploration. We had a superb experience. Our flight was delayed, and the host was incredibly flexible, both at check-in and check-out. At our request, the host arranged a chef-cooked meal and mezcal tasting at home. The location is very central, with a 15 minute walk to the Zocalo. It was pretty quiet for being in El Centro. The pool was great, the bedrooms were nice, the kitchen was clean and well-equipped, and the air conditioning worked well. The rooms were cleaned every couple of days, and the cleaning lady even folded sone clothes that I washed — a nice surprise! The only things that were not exemplary were that the washing machine took a very long time and the hot water ran out quickly in the shower. All in all, this was a 10 out of 10. I would definitely stay here again, and I hope to do so.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Mariana’s home. When we arrived, she met us there and toured us through the property, telling us everything we needed to know. We asked if she could arrange for someone to cook us traditional breakfast each morning, and she did. Breakfast was incredible, and Carmen made us something different and special each day which gave us energy and sustenance to explore the city and villages beyond. The house is walkable to all of the restaurants, galleries, sights in the historic downtown. Mariana was a great host. Responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The property is calm, and the pool is a big plus. We loved our stay and will definitely stay with her again in the future.

My 3 friends and I LOVED staying at CasaAna. We each had our own bedroom and private bath off a huge and beautiful courtyard. We used the kitchen and appreciated it was stocked with coffee, juice & water, and we loved the swimming pool. The place was convenient to the center of town and we walked everywhere. We would go back in a minute. Our hostess was lovely and always helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at Casana — it was our own private oasis. The patio and garden are so serene, and the pool was perfect for relaxing between excursions. The location was perfect - just a short 15 minute walk to the main downtown plaza. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was nice to be able to do a quick load of laundry before heading home. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We felt safe during our stay and everywhere we went. Mariana recommended Diego as a driver, and he was knowledgeable and so personable. Mariana also was great at answering a lot of our questions as we planned our trip. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

This place was very cool having an open outside layout to accommodate a big group. My group of seven fit very comfortably having both private and personal space. Few things to keep in mind: 1. Their is no closer shared space. Weather was great so this was no problem for us. 2. Approximately 15 minutes walk to city center

Our stay at CASANA was very pleasant. The house is beautiful and comfortable. Communication with Mariana was smooth and everyone was very kind. We would stay here again the next time we're in Oaxaca we're in Oaxaca again.

We had the most incredible stay at Mariana’s home! The home was absolutely perfect, even better than the photos. The home is walking distance to amazing restaurants, the center of the city, etc. There was a cleaning staff that came one day as we stayed mon-Fri. Highly recommend and will stay there again next time we visit Oaxaca!

THE BEST AIRBNB with a pool that they barely advertised in photos!! We were a group of 8 women for a chill bachelorette and Mariana's place was PERFECT. Everyone kept saying they absolutely loved the vibe of the place. The location is in the quieter part of town, but only 15 mins walk from the center. You can download the DIDI app (uber for oaxaca) to get places if you really did not want to walk. The Mercado de la Merced is 2 blocks away, please go there daily to get fresh juice!! The beds, rooms, shower pressure, hammocks and pool were literally perfect. Kitchen was fully stocked but we didnt cook much since the food in Oaxaca is why everyone goes to Oaxaca. Mariana was so quick to respond to any question. She connected us with Israel who was pretty much our driver/guide for a full day excursion to Hierve el Agua, a mezcal tour, shopping and lunch. I highly recommend for an amazingly chill stay!

Mariana responded always very fast. The house was beautiful and the pool much bigger than in the photos. It is a 20-30 minute walk to the city center but we preferred her neighborhood. One of the best restaurants we ever ate at is there: Tika’aya. And if you turn righ out the fort about one block is a great Italian place where they make fresh pasta. Also on the counter to the right out the door is paleo massage. The owner is the sweetest. Six of us ages 10-82 got massages. And we went every am to the CrossFit gym across the street!

CASANA is perfect for spending a few days in Oaxaca, in a very good location. You can easily walk to the Textil Museum, San Pablo, the Zócalo and La Merced Market. Mariana, Felipe and Efraín (the house manager) were very good hosts, always attentive and attentive to any questions or needs we may have. The house is very nicely kept and clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to prepare a quick breakfast or dinner. The photos are a very good representation of what to expect, although to our surprise, the pool is bigger than we imagined. We had doubts about not having an enclosed space to live together, but the truth is that it's not necessary. The open dining room perfectly meets this need.

The Casana was perfect for both our families; gorgeous, peaceful, fantastic location, close to many great stores & restaurants. Getting to relax in the pool was the luxury we didn’t know we needed after we walked around town each day. Mariana was so kind and helpful with all our questions and gave great recommendations. The cleaning service was a nice surprise! If we ever find ourselves in Oaxaca again, we would love to stay here.

The Casana is beautiful, comfortable, and very well located. The rooms around the courtyard was a great set up. The pool provided a delightful respite for our four kids following long days of touring and sight seeing. The house is a 10 minute walk to the zocalo and a five minute walk to a great market, la Merced. Mariana is a fantastic host who helped us arrange a babysitter and was super communicative.

Mariana was very nice, she made our stay amazing, she recommended a chef who cooked for the whole family one day, delicious! She was also always very attentive and responded very quickly, and the place was as advertised, very clean and well-kept and the hot pool was delicious!

We had an amazing stay at Casana, it is a beautiful space and the pool is so nice, better than pictured and is a great break from the Oaxacan heat. The layout of the place also works really well for a group, we were a group of 6 and it was perfect for us. Mariana was also a responsive host.

An absolutely beautiful home! Can’t wait to come back to Oaxaca.

It was lovely, peaceful, and private. It was the perfect size for 7 to 8 people. It is not really equipped for a lot of home cooking. There are local cooks who will prepare food for you. We did varied activities, but if you really want to focus on city center, Zocala, Plaza de la Constitucion, and surrounding areas, it is 20 minute walk. I have no idea where to stay with any privacy that is closer to city center but walked a lot!!

Beautiful little villa walking distance to central district and yet far enough so that it’s quiet. Large and well maintained court yard with a central pond and a heated swimming pool which we enjoyed after sightseeing and walking in the heat. The place is very clean and the beds comfortable. For our family of 4, we get to pick which bedroom to use and stocked fridge full of drinks upon arrival was very much appreciated. We loved Oaxaca and would go again.

Casana is a great place to spend with family and friends. In my case, I was a family week. The place is very comfortable about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown Oaxaca. It has a medium sized pool and space for roast beef.

We had a wonderful stay at Casana - Mariana is an incredible host and helped us with awesome local recommendations for food and travel. Upon arrival, Mariana had set up a private lunch for us with one of the city's best chefs to prepare a tasting menu in the courtyard by the pool. Her home is absolutely beautiful and her kindness and hospitality made our trip one to remember for many many years. We are very grateful and cannot wait to come back soon!

Mariana’s place was very relaxing and gave 6 of us plenty of room to spread out. We even had a catered dinner one night in the courtyard which was magical with all the lights. Location is a bit off the beaten path but the serenity of the place outweighed any negatives.

The house is beautiful, quiet and very well located about 10-15 minutes from downtown on a street with several highly recommended restaurants and cafes. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable and tastefully decorated, but undoubtedly the best is the patio with hammocks, the fountain with their fish and of course the pool. Everything is in perfect condition, very clean and thoughtful with detail. Totally recommended.

We loved staying at Mariana’s Casana. She is an amazing host, was very accommodating and kindly allowed us to have a small event in the courtyard. The space is beautiful, with a very large courtyard and garden area and a lovely pool to enjoy. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and they surround the private courtyard. This place is perfect for a group of friends or a family because it is very quiet and peaceful but is a very short walk to the city center. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone traveling to Oaxaca, especially if they are looking for understated luxury and to be surrounded by nature. Muchas gracías Mariana!

La Casana was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The location is easily walkable to lots of things. The open air living space was awesome and the pool was understated in the description. It was perfect for my family of 2 married couples and 4 kids. Mariana was super helpful even before we booked this house. I would definitely return and recommend to others!!

We loved our stay in this house. Great value for money. The house is very nice and not that far from the city center (totally walkable). Ideal for a stay with kids given it has a nice outdoor space. Only caveat: because the swimming pool was built after our booking but before our stay, the host asked us to pay an extra to be able to use the swimming pool (because price of the house on Airbnb went up in the meantime), which we agreed to do, but thought it was a bit "petty" of the host.

two words: STAY HERE! such a perfect place to come back to after exploring oaxaca each day. we spent a good part of each day relaxing in the courtyard and pool, which says a lot. impeccable taste and unlike all the other terribly decorated airbnbs in the world. maria even arranged flowers and cake to be delivered for my mother's birthday. very quite, which i necessary from the 24/7 party in the city center! i can't wait to come back.

This airbnb was perfect for our group of 7 people! It was absolutely beautiful, so quiet, and a decent location (it was about a 10-15 minute walk from the city center). The hosts were incredible, ensuring we had everything we needed and helping schedule rides to the airport on our last day. The rooms were a good size, and the courtyard made for a fun common space with hammocks and the pool.
