Amazing 280 year-old house with meter-thick walls, a fireplace in every room (even the main bathroom), and a courtyard that felt straight out of Renaissance Europe, but here it is in a historic village in the mountains in Alamos, Sonora, Mexico. Great location in the village, couldn't be closer to everything. Gaspar bent over backwards to be helpful and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Gaspar place is at a perfect location, very easy to get around walking distance to everything . His place is great, very clean and has everything you need. Gaspar was also very helpful since the beginning, available at all times .Totally recommend it. (Don’t forget to bring a big bottle of bug repellent on summer : )

Excellent service from the host, very attentive and always very helpful. The house is very centrally located (behind the cathedral) and has all the amenities. 100% recommended.

This is the house you need to get the full experience in Alamos. The court style house with tall ceiling , thick walls and secluded rooms are a reminiscence of the Andalusia homes from Southern Spain that were so popular in the Mexican Spanish Colonial Architecture. We found delightful the exchange of the expected water fountain in the center patio by a small water pool that is so needed and refreshing for the hot summers of the area. Gaspar is a super host and we will surely stay with him next time Alamos is in our vacations' plan.

We had a very pleasant experience, it's like being transported to another era and living an adventure in a beautiful magical town, the host is super friendly and helpful, the location is the best, literally you don't need to transport yourself by car, you can walk to all the most touristy parts of downtown Alamos. Very nice experience

If you want to learn about part of the history of Álamos, this is the ideal house, full of history and in the perfect location.

Super rustic and nice right by the church good location

Gaspar is the most considerate host I've ever encountered. From saving us parking spaces during a busy festival to bringing us 2 bags of ice when we ran out, he is the epitome of the gracious Mexican host. He even offered to bring us anything we left behind on his next trip through our town. Some things to note: water pressure can be super strong sometimes and scant at others, toilet paper goes into a trash can, heat is via firewood. All of these things are minor compared to the location and beauty of the house as well as Gaspar's hospitality. If you are a traveler to Mexico then you know you have to adjust your attitude and go with the flow. I am looking forward to taking our family to Alamos and staying at Gaspar's place. Oh, and he was born and raised in Alamos and has wonderful stories so make some time to get to know him!

The house is very nice and has a unique vibe; it's a unique experience to stay in such an old house with all the amenities. Incredible and comfortable rooms, the space is very spacious, excellent kitchen and patio. Gaspar is also very friendly, highly recommended.

Excellent house

La Casa de Arte is a house well located in the center of Alamos in the center of Alamos. Each room is different and very comfortable. Every corner is filled with curious touches that share a small view of their history with their guests. Gaspar gave us the tour of the whole property. We had a nice afternoon enjoying the pool and garden. In addition, the kitchen-room has everything you need to prepare meals quietly, really as if we were at home. Thank you.
