I have spent a lot of time in San Miguel and seen lots of beautiful homes - this is one of the best. From the beginning, Bill was quick to answer questions, share tips and offer flexibility for our large group. The home was spectacular. It feels like a home, not an anonymous, empty space. Everywhere you look there are gorgeous details. The many community spaces made it so easy for our group to have a great time. Tip - the pool stays cool all of the time because it cools off at night, so you may want to heat it. The housekeepers could not have been more lovely. Overall we all loved our stay and would absolutely recommend.

We had a great time at the beautiful home. We were able to check in early. The home is spacious and full of beautiful art and pieces. very relaxing space for family or friends to hang out in the courtyard poolside. The house is a short walk to the town with many restaurants near by. I would def return!

My family (husband and three kids, ages 15, 11 & 20 months) stayed here for a week. It was absolutely beautiful. Betty met us when we arrived and showed us around. The welcome documents are chock-full of recommendations and delightful insights. The street is super quiet, but a very close walk to anything you want to do. Beds are comfortable with extra pillow options to meet everyone's preferences. We did not take advantage of Betty and Carmen's breakfast option as our youngest eats earlier than the timing offered, and our older boys are very picky, but I know it would have been delicious! We had a lovely family vacation and would recommend this home to anyone. I kept my phone in airplane mode all week to really unplug, but I realized when I got home that the host had called us the day after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The proactive communication was much appreciated!

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is truly an oasis and so beautifully decorated. There were 8 of us for a birthday weekend and everyone had their own room w/ in-suite bath, and there are so many wonderful places to gather together or sneak away to a corner with a good book. The staff were incredible, and the host was so helpful. I can not recommend this home highly enough! We are already planning to find a time when we can all return!

We had an absolutely marvelous time! The home is special and so close to everything. Betty and Carmen were wonderful and helped make our first trip SMA memorable! We hope to go back soon!

My family and I had the most amazing stay at Casa Carole! We rented the main house and the Casita, and it exceeded our expectations! The pictures listed did not do either house justice, the artwork and space were beyond beautiful, large and thoughtfully decorated . The instructions were clear, and Bill was so helpful and responsive. We loved every part of our trip and cannot wait to come back!

Lovely home in a great neighborhood. We spent most of our time walking around enjoying the city and streets. No cleaning fee, which is a plus. Be sure you understand that the pool may be a bit chilly and heating it is extra (propane has to be delivered in San Miguel). Also, there are extra charges for AC/heat, though this wasn't at all necessary during our stay. The main sala was delightful - bright any airy, and you'll have access to a series of terraces all the way to the top of the building, where you can watch the sun set over the churches and city. Amazing restaurants are within a 3 minute walk, both fancier and more homestyle. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Bill‘s home was amazing and beautiful. It was centrally located and had everything that we needed and more. Carmen and Betty the house staff were super accommodating and made amazing meals. We will certainly be back.

Bill's place exceeded our expectations in every regards. The space was much larger than expected, the kitchen was well equipped and there were lots of lounging areas for relaxing and reading. The art, the color and the furnishings in the home really elevated our whole San Miguel experience. His welcome letter was very informative and the two housekeepers made us wonderful Mexican breakfasts in the morning with groceries we provided.

There is so much to say. I’m truly grateful I chose this place. We stayed at the main house and it was just like the pictures. The home is in a great location, right by everything. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Bill and Carole were very nice and very accommodating. Bety and Carmen were on top of everything. They made breakfast and made sure the place was clean. We vacationed as a family at Casa Carole. Bill quickly answered all my questions (and even a couple of misdirected emails). He graciously allowed us to check-in early. Carmen and Bety are the two maids that work at the Casa. They let us in and were very friendly and helpful. We did not have them make us breakfast due to our schedule but I'm sure it would have been delicious. The Airbnb itself is gorgeous. In the evenings we sat by one of the five fireplaces and during the day sat at one of the many outdoor seating areas enjoying the sun. The welcome package provides a plethora of good information. The location itself is convenient to all the sites, restaurants and shopping.

A wonderful place for a friends trip. Large bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Warm and welcoming common spaces. Numerous beautiful outdoor spaces. Well stocked kitchen.

It is a beautiful home in the center of San Miguel de Allende. We loved it!

We had a lovely stay at this beautifully appointed property and its adjoining private and expansive patio. It is conveniently located within San Miguel. Travelers with mobility issues should be advised that there are a number of steps within the home to reach the 3 bedrooms, however there is a sleeper sofa on the main floor. Also, be prepared with plenty of mosquito repellent!

Best place in San Miguel! A few blocks away from the city Center, nice places to eat a block away and truly a gem in the city of SM! Breakfast was amazing and the place did not disappoint!

An Experience to be repeated!! Central and become a local in nearby restaurants... It doesn't get any better. So much near by food, music, the Jardin full of dancing paper machete figures, excellent coffee, views, food.... Just go!!!

We had a great four nights at Casa Carole. The house is beautiful - just as pictured. Light, airy, colourful but also cozy and welcoming. We opted to have their housekeeper make breakfast for us - what a nice treat. Veronica was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful which only made our stay more enjoyable. The location is great - near many local amenities but also walkable (or a short taxi ride) to the main area. And when we wanted to relax there was the sweet little courtyard with pool and lots of lounging options around the house - including a beautiful roof deck. Communication with Bill and Carole was easy and prompt - they have lots of great tips to maximize your holiday. We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Carole, have already recommended it to friends and look forward to returning one day ourselves. Thanks again!

Perfection! Bill was a wonderful host - warm, friendly and very accessible. And the home was both beautiful and comfortable. We were met by one of two maids (Betty and Veronica) who showed us around and made sure we knew where everything was and how to work with the idiosyncracies of the house. (Every house has them, and it was nice to have them pointed out and explained.) On top of that there was detailed information on the workings of the home plus recommendations on where to eat, what to do and how to get around. Not a detail was spared. AND, Betty and Veronica were there everyday to fix us breakfast and make sure the house was spotless. Who could ask for more? The home was idyllic. Run, don't walk to Casa Carole!!

The photos of this home do not do it justice. It is so lovely. The decor, the art and the amenities (pool, outdoor patios, seating, lounging...I can go on and on. I have previously stayed at Casa No Name Lofts at the corner of this street and it was very noisy. This property is extremely quiet, although you can hear the church bells in the morning, but I happen to find that charming.

Our group was blown away by the spaciousness and beauty of this rental. One of the best we’ve experienced. Bill and Carole were wonderful hosts and provided incredibly detailed material not just about the house, but everything we might want to do in San Miguel. The house is very spacious with lots of private spots. Some members of our group didn’t know each other and there was so much privacy it was never awkward. The artwork and decorating are lovely. Nice rooftop views and courtyard. Definitely recommend!

From the beginning of our journey, Carole and Bill were always quick to repsond to the many questions that our group had about our stay. The home itself was so immaculate, serene, and beyond gorgeous that many of us didn't want to leave to explore the city. The exterior living spaces were numerous--- so inviting and pristine--- it was difficult to choose which lovely place to sit. The home is rather large and Bill was proactive in helping us understand how to use and operate almost everything. His use of laminated directions througout the home was extremely helpful. As far as locaion in San Miguel, the home was centrally located within the central historic area. We walked throughout this area each day and found it very navigatible. If I am privileged to return to San Miguel, I would choose to stay here because of the reasons listed but also because of the neighborhood feel where this stellar home is located.

I am attempting to spend my children’s inheritance by traveling the world. I have stayed in so many hotels and air b and bs I have lost count of when and where….This house is in the top three. The art is exquisite…much done by the owner, the configuration allows for lots of privacy, very very roomy, the courtyard is serene, the rooftop is spectacular, the location is perfect, but the best part of this house is the staff. Bette and Vero are outstanding humans. I celebrated my birthday at the house and the dinner was sublime. The cake was awesome . But the table setting was truly truly special….flowers everywhere. Some jackass named Ed, in his review ,complained that the staff could not speak English. Duhhh it’s their country not ours. We had zero problems communicating. Their warmth and pride in their work transcended any barriers in language. I wish I could have taken them home with me. BEST PLACE EVER! Again….BEST PLACE EVER!

Lovely home. The property was even better than the photos. Great for a large group! So much space and the outdoor area was beautiful. Perfect location for getting around San Miguel. Booked the main house for 1 month and was ready to make the owners (Bill and Carole) a purchase offer on day 2 and keep it all for ourselves. Lucky for you reading this review, they would never sell because this property is a labor of love for all who own and operate it. Even the promotional pictures on Airbnb are done so well that the feeling you get looking at them on-line will match the feelings you have when you arrive. Everything about this property is more than pictures-on-a-page, it’s a feeling. Most the other reviews say the same, eg everyone is captivated by something here. The staff are exceptional. They want to help, so share your needs up front so no one is left guessing. Also, it’s a good idea to read the welcome letter and take the owners’ advice on how best to reward the staff for making your stay beyond your expectations. Hats off to Bill and Carole for sharing something so personal with the rest of us. This is home, run like a 5-Star hotel.

it was a truly delightful experience to stay in this home. Photos do not do this property justice. It is a stunning blend of traditional San Miguel elegance and comfort, with beautifully designed interiors and a serene ambiance. The attention to detail in the decor made the stay feel luxurious yet homely. What truly set this place apart, is that the hosts care about us as guests and were very communicative and, was the housekeeper were amazing and kind. They made us beautiful breakfast each day. We were two families with 4 kids under 8 years old and we had a blast and the kids never wanted to leave the house. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful Home for anyone seeking a memorable stay in San Miguel, where both the accommodations and the beautiful town are top notch. We celebrated our 40th anniversary with our kids and grandkids (total of 9 people). The house provided room for everyone without feeling crowded and the pool was used daily. Bety and Veronica (the maids) were outstanding. Staying late to meet us on our arrival, cooking breakfast for us most days, and arriving early on the day of our departure. Their cooking was delicious!! (reminder to self to get their salsa verde recipe!). The house was within walking distance of everything. Bill and Carole are the most thorough hosts I have ever experienced with a welcome letter that did not miss anything and with great recommendations of places to visit and places to eat. Bill checked in soon after our arrival to answer any questions. We would definitely use Casa Carole again -- it was far beyond our expectations!

One of the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The location is perfect - walkable to most things in the city. Very easy to communicate with Bill and Carole. My family and I stayed in Casa Carole and Casa Cho Co Latte. Both homes are more spacious and beautiful than the photos. It was an ideal location for a milestone birthday celebration with parents, adult children, and older grandchildren. There are lots of stairs in the homes and no bedrooms on the main floor, so may not be appropriate if anyone in your group has mobility challenges, but the home design and location are exceptional. Housekeepers Vero and Betty went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The 64 page manual (!) from owners Bill and Carole is a treasure trove of insight and suggestions on places to eat, things to do, and other ideas that contributed significantly to the success of our first trip to San Miguel. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again in the future.

Bill and Carole's beautiful, sunny oasis was truly that...it exceeded our expectations and made our week stay in SMA so very special. The beds were very comfortable, the house was stocked with everything we needed and more. The pool was perfect for a morning dip and/or a refreshing swim after a day of walking around SMA. The location was absolutely perfect. Bill and Carole were so responsive and the best hosts we have ever had with our many Airbnb rentals. Veronica and Bety, the staff, were wonderful and made us breakfasts which were delicious. They also cleaned the house everyday, made our beds and provided fresh towels when we needed them. Our Spanish language proficiency is limited but we managed to communicate with translator apps and patience. We will be back again and highly recommend this amazing rental.

We had the most wonderful stay at Casa Carole. Bill and Carole were wonderful hosts and their home is simply beautiful. Carole’s design and decor was so intentional and perfectly thought out. Every room had beautiful touches of art and furniture that fit the style of the home brilliantly. Leaving the doors open to the courtyard and the gigantic windows in the living areas brought in beautiful natural light. Bill and Carole were both so responsive when we had questions. The house is impeccably taken care of and Veronica and Betty provided us with the most delicious breakfast every morning and the kids loved them! We also hired them to cook an authentic Mexican dinner which was e enjoyed on the rooftop terrace. We fell in love with San Miguel and this beautiful home and we are already planning our next trip back. I couldn’t recommend this home and the hosts more.

Casa Carole far exceeded our expectations! Located on a quiet street in the old town, it is beautifully decorated with original art, colorful Mexican tiles, and interesting antiques. There are numerous sitting areas for lounging or gathering, inside and out, including a pool patio and rooftop area overlooking the city. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything one would need to cook, but there were so many great restaurants nearby we never did. Bill and Carole’s welcome letter was the most extensive of any place we have stayed—filled with great recommendations and helpful tips. We loved our week in SMA, made extra special by Bill and Carole’s hospitality and lovely home.

Where to start….hosts were very responsive from start. The information about the home and city were detailed and made for a very fun experience and easy way to plan our first trip to SMA. The home was exactly as described but even more beautiful in person. The attention to details and the artwork were amazing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard by the pool. The staff were quiet and respectful and made wonderful breakfasts. The home is perfectly located with easy walking to everything the city has to offer.

We had a wonderful family reunion in this gorgeous house which is full of beautiful textiles and art and antiques. There are many different sitting areas to enjoy, as well as three outdoor patios. The whole property has beautiful plants and potted trees making it a lovely environment to spend time in. The master bedroom and bathroom are top notch, the second bedroom with two single beds is not huge but has a lot of charm but not suitable for a couple, the third bedroom which is a "basement" unit, is attractive but has limited airflow/ventilation and is rather warm at night. The location, which is always difficult to determine prior to committing, is on a lovely street, but for us, was a little out of the way from most of the restaurants and activities we went to. One can hail a taxi to get most places, but for walking its less central than we had anticipated. Overall, though we had an excellent stay and enjoyed our reunion here very much!

A Beautiful home furnished in authentic Mexican decor, original art ceramics and linens, every detail was carefully thought of. Fully furnished kitchen with water filtration throughout was a huge plus. Large outdoor spaces with lush greenery with many levels to enjoy and relax. Location was perfect to the square and the staff was helpful and thoughtful. Every need was taken care of and Bill and Carole were amazing hosts. Bill and Carole’s home is simply beautiful with a nice central location. The neighborhood was lively and close to downtown without being too loud, allowing for a restful vacation. It is gorgeously appointed and decorated and there is ample indoor and outdoor space. The pool is on the smaller side (as expected) but perfect for dipping and can be heated for a reasonable fee. In terms of communication Bill and Carole are great. Bill and Carole have generously opened their home to families with children (not as common in San Miguel) but I do think with toddlers/young children the stairs and layout would be a tad challenging. For families with older kids I think it would work better, ours loved the rooftop terrace and pool. Vero and Betty kept the home pristine. We learned we did have to be somewhat proactive in requesting/confirming breakfast but it all worked well in the end, with amazing huevos Mexicanos on our last days there. Thank you all for a marvelous time in San Miguel!

Ahh, Casa Carole! What a delight! Everything about our visit to San Miguel de Allende was magical, including, and especially, the time we spent at Casa Carole. The space is so lovely, with beautiful artwork and more inviting places to enjoy a book or a glass of wine than you can imagine. We didn't want to leave! The sala in particular became our favorite gathering place. We were thrilled to have the house staff prepare delicious breakfasts, getting each day off to a healthy and happy start. The location of the house allowed us to walk everyday to the town square, but also was enough off the beaten path to guarantee a good night's sleep (can't do anything about those roosters and dogs!). Bill and Carole were responsive to our every need and question, and provided invaluable information about local sites and restaurants. We cannot wait to visit Casa Carole again. Thank you!

Our stay was wonderful. It was nice to come home every day to our beds made and fresh linens and house cleaned. Although we did not speak Spanish the maids were super nice to all of us. The location was awesome too!

What a magical, artistic, welcoming home. The walls are full of gorgeous art and artifacts that bring it all to life. It's quiet, the beds are super comfortable and you feel like you are in your own private oasis (or small boutique hotel). We rented this home for an executive team retreat and we had enough space to spread out, have lots of privacy, and enjoy all of the home's amenities while still being able to gather in common spaces and be together. It was quite simply - a wonderful visit! Bill and Carole have gone above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need (or need to know). They provided one of the most comprehensive airbnb welcoming books I've ever received. They are stellar hosts and you'll be so glad you stayed. Also, Vero, the wonderful woman who helps w/ the home is gracious, kind, and very helpful!

Bill and Carole have amazing house and very well decorated in the Spanish way. Carole have paid really fine attention to the details of the house. After staying in this house, I am planning to build similar house in Omaha, if I will find the right lot.

Decided to vacation in San Miguel with a group of friends and booked these houses. They are lovely and very comfortable. Hosts were very friendly & accommodating. Highly recommend staying here.

This home is simple gorgeous! There are so many beautiful details in every corner. Carole’s artwork hangs on many of the walls, and is the main impact of the design, and the blend of colors and furnishings are so warm and welcoming, it’s a true oasis. It would be easy to stay put at Casa Carole and never leave! There are so many cozy spots to sit and soak in all the beauty, and everything is so well appointed, and the roof-top terrace is amazing. If you do venture out (which we did everyday), its a short 5-8 minute walk to the main plaza. Vero & Betty (maids) are wonderful and in and out every day. They made a special B-day dinner for our friend one evening (along with decoration and cakes) which was a true delight! The home is in a peaceful location. The main sounds you hear are from the church masses being held down the street. It’s quiet in the evenings and you wake in the morning to the sound of birds in the garden, just amazing. Bill & Carole are wonderful hosts, Gracias!

A perfect week in San Miguel de Allende! We stayed at Casa Carole for the first week of Holy Week with our kids and another family and it was truly magical. Our friends rented Casa Cho Latte (the adjoining casita) and we had enough communal spaces while not feeling on top of one another. The kids swam every day in the beautiful pool, which felt like our private oasis. We loved the location, as it was a little quieter than right in Centro, and it was a short walk to the Jardín. They are quite a few floors/stairs in the home (mostly tile), which is very common in SMA so it might be tricky with younger kids, but it was just fine for our preschooler and middle schooler, and they loved having their own spaces. The housekeepers Vero and Betty were wonderful and even made our whole group breakfast one day. We really appreciated Bill & Carole’s recommendations, and responsiveness to all our questions. Can’t wait to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our nine nights at Casa Carole. The interior courtyard, where we spent most of our time, was extremely relaxing and beautiful. The three-level living spaces were well appointed and decorated with unique and interesting architectural pieces with bedrooms on the garage-level and third levels giving separation for a two-couple stay. In-advance coordination and on-the-ground communications were extremely thorough. Having house-keepers helped minimize our efforts in keeping things in order and more time on relaxing.

Our two week stay at Casa Carol was a beautiful experience. Just wanted to let you know, both sets of our friends thoroughly enjoyed your magnificent home. The staff, Veronica and Betty were an absolute delight. My wife didn’t want to leave them! The home, the location and the staff made for a wonderful trip. We will be back!

It is well located - easy to walk to central part of town and our favorite two restaurants were just a block away! We rented both houses as two separate families and it was perfect. The AC units worked well and the housekeepers Vero and Bete were thorough and kind - it was a real treat to have them make breakfast for us! Bill and Carole were very patient with our questions. Would highly recommend.

Where to begin? I'm typically not at a loss for words, but to sum up the beauty and character of Casa Carole is nearly impossible! "Love at first sight" is fitting! From the moment we entered we were in a different world. A world so tastefully appointed and maintained it's difficult to convey in words. The art (everywhere - literally!) is perfect. The gardens are just incredible. The variety of cozy spots to sit and soak it all in are plentiful - morning coffee on the rooftop terrace, evening cocktails by the pool or fireplace. The place is simply gorgeous! Well done Bill and Carol! Speaking of the hosts - they are fantastic. We spoke several times during our trip and they were awesome! We loved the 2 wonderful ladies who came each morning to keep things tidy during our stay. The breakfasts they made were perfect! This was our first visit to SMA. Our daughter and her friend (16 and 15) were able to explore the city on their own every day. We all felt very safe. The shops, restaurants and sites of SMA are all wonderful. I'll finish by adding that the pictures just can't adequately capture this lovely home. This beautiful home is a sanctuary in an incredible city.

Casa Carole was an amazing place to experience the richness and beauty of SMA. The house is so close to everything this magical city has to offer while offering moments of respite throughout the busy days to go out and experience even more of SMA. Taking a dip in the pool was refreshing during the day or a siesta by the courtyard or just a moment of relaxation by the roof terrace was what we did to recharge before going out in the town. But some days all we did was enjoy the peace and beauty of this exceptional house.

This was definitely one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. The artistic nature of the owners is a perfect accoutrement to the surroundings of San Miguel. Location is phenomenal with easy access to the Jardin and endless amenities. One of the nicest surprises was Mi Bistro 300 just up the street which makes this amazing home feel like it has an in house restaurant. Bill was a great host, staff were phenomenal and our stay could not have been more enjoyable. My only hope is that they’ll host us again. 🙏🏼

Anyone who is lucky enough to stay at Casa Carole is in for a treat! Everything about the house met or exceeded our expectations. The setting is beautiful, the seamless layout of indoor and outdoor space cannot be beat, and the proximity to so many spots in San Miguel makes it super-convenient. Betty and Vero, the maids, are so sweet and so helpful! We would definitely stay again and would consider renting out Casa Choco Latte as well and bring some more extended family! Stay here ! This Air BnB is beyond fabulous! Home is stunning, the owners were incredibly responsive and provided the best detail of any Air BnB in which I have ever stayed. The 2 ladies that come in daily were a delight! And great cooks! My group hired them 2 nights to cook dinner in. Presentation and food were wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about this property!!!

Spotless home in a very convenient location, accessible to all the San Miguel Centro has to offer. The staff (Vero and Maribel) are fantastic. Bill and Carole provided recommendations and help that allowed us to really explore and experience the city. Would happily rent again at Casa Carole.

This is such a beautiful house in a great location. Central yet just a little out of the tourists way. We really enjoyed our stay there. The outdoors blends seamlessly with the indoor areas. The lighting is just perfect. It is also rare to find a historic house with an open kitchen, flowing from the living room. The kitchen is well stocked and has great cookwares. It is so inviting to stay in for meals even though there are so many great dining options nearby. The host was excellent with communication. The property is very thoughtfully managed through a local team. Anything we needed onsite was quickly taken care of. We had a wonderful stay!

Great hosts , and great house , great choice

Ansolutely a stunning home in a fabulous location. The housekeepers come daily and will make you breakfast if desired. The welcome letter we received before our trip was so completely thorough you didn’t want for any further information. Once you stay in this dream land you will want to return again and again. We plan to!!!!

This is a magnificent home, with the most gracious owners who earn their super host title and more! Casa Carole is a short (5 min) walk from the Jardin but remarkably quiet and serene. The casa is full of the most beautiful art (much of it painted by Carole), textiles and artifacts from around the world. The only trouble was deciding which gorgeous chaise, day bed or comfy chair to lounge on, and which would be the favored terrace of the afternoon (there are two, plus a stunning courtyard surrounded by plants and flowers.) San Miguel is a magical city, but there were some days that none of us wanted to leave the house, it’s that lovely and comfortable. Bill and Carole were in residence at their own new casita nearby (separate entrance) and my son and I so enjoyed an evening of drinks with them, hearing their stories of SMA of 25 years ago when they first purchased and built this home. Note the rental also includes the daily service of two lovely maids, Vero and Mirabel, who keep things tidy and will make you beautiful Mexican breakfast. Top class home and hosts — everything was perfection!

Casa Carole was as a dream! The decoration was perfect in all its finesses. We were our a group of 4 couples and 1 baby, and could not have wished for a better setting. It offers both privacy and relaxation, and a perfect living room/ garden for sharing lovely days/nights as a group. Highly recommend!

We rented Casa for a group of five women celebrating a big birthday. When we walked into Casa Carole everyone gasped! It was even more gorgeous than the photos on the web site. Everywhere you looked there was some beautiful treasure that the owners had picked up on their travels. The house is very comfortably furnished and with exquisite taste. Bill and Carole, owners of the house, could not have been more responsive to our every need. If I emailed them about the slightest thing there was response within minutes. They also give renters a very complete list of instructions including “sights” and restaurants in San Miguel. Bill and Carole suggested a company who came to the house and gave us the necessary Covid tests before our flight home. Very convenient The two maids, Vero and Maribel, came every weekday from 9-3pm and were there to make breakfast if you wish and clean the house. They were adorable – cheerful and accommodating. We rented both houses – Casa Carole and Casa Cho Co Latte – perfect for five people who want their own bedrooms. I would recommend Casa Carole for two couples of the smaller house for a couple or two friends. Location of the house is perfect – on a small lane about 7 minutes’ walk from the Jardin or historical center of San Miguel. I cannot recommend this glorious house enough!!

This was the best Air BnB we have ever stayed in! I've rented homes all over the world...Australia, France, Greece, Hawaii, Colorado, and this was the most jaw dropping home. The house was enough, but Vero and Maribell, the house keepers, were the sweetest and arranged the most delicious breakfasts for our group. The location was fantastic, a two minute walk to the best little cafe, Bistro 300, 10 minute walk to the Jardin, the wonderful roof tops and adorable restaurants. Bring an extra suitcase because the shopping was amazing! Bill and Carol were a delight to work with too, always available if we had a question. We will definitely be back with family and more friends! Rent this place!!

Bill and Carole's home was a great place to bring my family for 3 weeks. The welcome letter was very comprehensive and helpful letting us know what we needed to do when we arrived, and all kinds of other helpful information including giving us ideas for transportation, covid testing, information about the city, restaurants, etc. We used it extensively and the recommendations were great. The housekeepers Veronica and Maribel were a big help also, keeping everything clean and tidy and helping us with some meals for our family. They are kind, attentive and easy to share the house with when they are there. When we had friends visit, they rented the attached casita to give them their own space but the ability to share the pool and courtyard with us. The house is centrally located and on a very lovely, quiet, street. The home and grounds are as beautiful as the photos and San Miguel de Allende is, as it boasts, a magical city. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to come back and stay again! Patrick and Lauren

Owners were very helpful. Staff was delightful. The place was breath taking with the decor. Location was absolutely perfect. Very quiet but right in the middle of it all.

My family and I traveled to San Miguel and Casa Carole for a week in late June 2021. San Miguel was mostly open and busy. Masks were still required in shops and at the center, but there was a lot of shopping and dining available. Casa Carole is located a short walk from the center. You do need to go up a hill to get there, which was fine for most of us but could be a little tricky for some. Cabs were easy to find at the bottom of the hill. Casa Carole itself was lovely and spacious with many more terrazas and sitting spaces than we could use. We loved the rooftop at the main house - great view and many fruit trees to look at! We also spent time a lot of time at the patio near the pool. The pool is small but nice and the temperature is refreshing. We had plenty of space in the house. There are two master rooms on the top floor of each the main house and casita, the upstairs room with twin beds, and two downstairs rooms in each house. The downstairs rooms in the main house and casita get less airflow the the top floor rooms. The maids Maribel and Vero were very nice and did their jobs efficiently and discreetly. Maribel was very helpful in answering questions about San Miguel. They also made us breakfast a few days - huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, etc. The food was very good and beautifully presented. Finally, Bill and Carole were great hosts. They made sure we got in ok and had everything we needed for our trip. Thank you both!

Casa Carole is a beautiful, comfortable home. After talking a walk to the Center, shopping and eating, it was nice to come back to Casa Carole and take a dip in the beautiful pool and sit and soak up the sunshine.

The home is very lovely, filled with unique and creative touches. The pictures do not do justice to the beauty and expansiveness of the courtyard and pool, nor do they capture how wonderfully light-filled the home is. Tons of space, indoors and out, impeccably clean and filled with creative details. Fairly close to everything. Hosts were very responsive and attentive. We ended up having both the larger home and the adjoining casita, which made for complete privacy.

No better place to be is you are going to San Miguel Allende. The decoration of the house is amazing. The helper that take care of the house and some breakfast are extraordinary. The process for rent this particular house is very detail oriented. 5 Start Recomendation.

Carole and Bill’s home is expansive, architecturally stunning and as colorful as the beautiful town. We felt right at home and enjoyed all the personal touches and the luxury of our surrounding. Our favorites were the master suite, the kitchen and the beautiful doors opening to the courtyard. The location is perfect and a short walk to town. Carole and Bill were very responsive when we were dealing with a medical emergency. They go above and beyond to make your stay as smooth as it can be.

Casa Carole is beautiful, both inside and out. The house is thoughtfully designed and decorated, with spaces to stretch out in the lap of luxury. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, giving you an option of preparing your own food or relying on the in-house cook, who works from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily except weekends. There were nine of us altogether, staying in the house for five days. The space is so expansive that we never felt crowded. The staff, which includes a maid, was pleasant. But make sure you're up on your Spanish, or communicating with them could be a bit challenging. The location is perfect, on an extremely narrow street that's quiet except for fireworks on Sunday mornings that typically mark celebrations around town. it's about a 15-minute walk to the center of the city -- an area known as the Jardin (garden), which includes the iconic church known as the Parroquia. We loved our stay there.

As the former mayor of San Francisco, I have travelled to spectacular cities on every continent in the world. The Mexican city of Miguel de Allende in general and this house in particular more than lived up to every glorious description that literature and friends shared with us. We marveled at this lovely home and could not believe our great luck to have found it. This unique city in Mexico should be in everyone's bucket list. And this house is a magnificent place to stay while visiting this extraordinary city. Every room is full of lovely art work and comfortable furnishings that invite you to relax while the two friendly staff ladies come every day to clean, cook delicious meals and do laundry. We did a brunch in the courtyard by the pool one and another in the upper terrace overlooking the city. Beds were even more comfortable as those at our own home. There is even have a house phone for easy, free calls to the US. Owner Bob Meyer himself called at least once to make sure all was well and offer suggestions for things to do while you are a guest. We learned very quickly to trust him and his recommendations. We had a small issue come up while we were there and we called him to let him know and by the time we returned to the house a few hours later the item had been replaced which was totally above and beyond what one would expect in a timeframe of 2-3 hours.. We trust we will be able to return some day where we created some wonderful memories for our family.

I can't say enough good things about Casa Carole. The house was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotless. The location was perfect for just about anything and a short walk to the main area of town. The staff at house were wonderful. Bill and Carole gave us great restaurant suggestions as well as things to do. We took my mother to San Miguel for her birthday and appreciated such a comfortable house that gave us lots of room to sit and chat. I highly recommend Casa Carole. You will not be disappointed!

Carole and Bill have created a charming authentic Mexican home on a quiet street in a great central location for walking around the town of San Miguel de Allende. Their housekeepers are excellent and helped to provide a most enjoyable vacation.

This is an exceptionally beautiful and tranquil hacienda in one of the best locations in San Miguel! We recently spent 10 days at Casa Carole and could not imagine a more comfortable and hospitable home in all of San Miguel nor one that is more reflective of the character and traditions of that magical town. It is immediately evident that Bill and Carole have spent many years creating a welcoming home with a refined personality that combines the natural beauty of the central Mexican highlands with wonderful original artwork, soulful antiques, comfortable furnishings. Located on a quiet street just a few minutes walk from the center of town and right around the corner from San Miguel’s best restaurant, this home offered a relaxing retreat that invited us to linger over breakfast on the rooftop, or enjoy an afternoon cocktail in the many outdoor and open air spaces that are immaculately maintained by Rosa and Theresa. We particularly enjoyed returning “home” in the late afternoon each day. Tired from the day spent roaming the town and exploring the surrounding countryside, we relaxed by the pool with a glass of wine, the smell of fresh baked bread from the tiny bakery around the corner calling us to stop in for a snack before dinner or some hot bolillos. Every morning we were warmly greeted by the housekeepers, Rosa and Theresa, who ensured that we were always comfortable and our stay was worry free. Their kind and friendly manner made us always feel welcome and at home. There are some very fine hotels in town, but if you truly want a taste of the good life in San Miguel you must stay here!
