Absolute heaven on earth! My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the gorgeous wooden porch and were fascinated by the exotic birds, iguanas and sloths.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this magical stay!!! Our host was so amazing and made us immediately feel right at home after a long day of travel. The property is a magical jungle garden that I had a hard time saying good bye to!! Even though you feel completely secluded in the jungle oasis walkability to the beach and town was perfect!! I could go on and on but essentially if you're looking for a beautiful homey stay in Peurto Vejo this is the place for you!! Pura vida💕🤙🌊

Melanie and Dawn were great hosts! So responsive and helpful. The place is like your own private oasis but still walkable to town that’s full of restaurants and shopping. It’s an ideal location with tons to do in the area. Definitely recommend staying here!

The home and garden are so peaceful and private I can’t wait to go back and visit again. The highlight of everyday was preparing fruit for the birds and watching them come to eat thought the day.

This is a magical home and jungle-garden sanctuary. It is a destination in and of itself. We felt so fortunate -- the owner, Dawn, accommodated us rather last minute (thank you!) and made us feel at home. Everything is well appointed and thoughtfully chosen, the gardens are gorgeous and healthy, and they surround the home and incredible lanai so you can see all of the wildlife (birds, lizards, butterflies, etc.) up close. It is <10 min walk to/from Puerto Viejo. If you find yourself reading this review, I highly recommend you book this place.

This place was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Costa Rica. Dawn stayed up late and checked us in at 11pm. And she was a plethora of amazing local! Everything from exactly where to find sloths to local farmers market. The property might as well be labeled a botanical garden of which Dawn cultivated here self. A full tour of the garden the next morning included unlimited star fruit and coconuts, and bananas all for our taking! And did I mention ruin the best sleep I’ve had in months!! Waking up to the jungle rain was a dream! Will definitely come back.

Absolutely perfect! Dawn was so friendly and her property was beautiful and pristine. Waking up to birds chirping and seeing all of the vibrant colors in this setting is about as good as life gets. Ready to return!

Beautiful home. Dawn, the host and owner, lives downstairs and she was incredibly kind and helpful. Pictures don’t do the home justice - it’s stunning - with an incredible yard. Used the pool and meditation deck daily, both of which were amazing.

What an exceptional location. You live on the first floor of this beautiful spacious house made of tropical wood. Very big balconies offer fantastic views in the garden of Eden. The garden is unique and really amazing and loaded with animals, especially birds and even a sloth. The walkway through the garden to the yoga hut is very cool. The (pretty wild) beach and the village are within walking distance, very convenient. We didn’t really use the kitchen but it seems perfectly equipped. We loved the place. Dawn is a great host, extremely helpful and friendly, all dialogue was easy and smooth. We highly recommend this place.

I just spent the New Year here and it was one of the most peaceful homes & locations I've ever stayed at. Very beautiful & relaxing surroundings. The host Dawn was incredibly helpful , always willing to offer up suggestions and recommendations of where to go. What stood out to me the most, that is no fault of the hosts but worth mentioning to people, is the proximity & noise from the street- more specifically, how much you can hear in the bedroom from either the road or neighbors dogs sometimes throughout the night, since the windows are all open (with screens). You do however have the option of closing the windows from the outside-in with wooden doors, with the window at the head of the bed being the more difficult one to do that. Keep in mind, I decided to spend my time here during a very festive part of the year so naturally there'd be more activity in the neighborhood. I don't think that'd be the case during other seasons but I don't know that for sure.

Great location just outside the busy Puerto Viejo center! Beautiful garden with lots of birds (they bring a nice show when you’re heaving breakfast on the terrace). Owner Dawn is around if you need assistance with anything.

What a beautiful property! You can see all the love and work that goes into maintaining the spectacular tropical landscaping that surrounds the home. Right next to town, walking distance to everything! We can’t wait to go back!

We had an absolutely lovely time at Dawn’s in Puerto viejo. She’s a real gem and she really has created something amazing on her little property, yet still manages to be right in town, walkable to tons of activities, and very private. The garden feels like an attraction in itself. The bed was insanely comfortable. The pool was perfect. The house itself is basically a giant piece of art. With that, There are some house rules that come along with keeping something so pristine, all of which were clear and easy to implement. She had recommendations for all sorts of activities and folks in town, from airport transportation to tuktuk to restaurants, farmers markets, etc. My personal favorite part were her friendly and sweet pups, particularly Pony. We hope to cross paths again and are so grateful to have chosen this place for the first part of our trip in Costa Rica! It was a real privilege.
