5BR Villa in Playa Grande

Matthew

Excellent, 2 months ago

We had an amazing stay and Amazing location. 💯 recommend

The home is amazing for a relaxing beach getaway. The outdoor living space and kitchen concept is perfect for large family or group gatherings. The rooms are adequately equipped and the scenery and landscape let you feel the “Pura Vida”. Connecting with nature. Kenneth, Kristy and Doug are very responsive and friendly. The recommendations for local markets and contacts is great. (We made use of fresh seafood delivery). Would highly recommend this property.

Villa Playa Grande was absolutely perfect for our group of 11 women in our 70's. We travel together on international wellness/adventure retreats and were happy to find a large enough space to accommodate our group! The entire villa is beautifully decorated with so many extra touches! We especially loved the outdoor kitchen and the swimming pool. They were perfect gathering places for our group. Kristi, the property manager, was incredible. She helped us find the perfect people for the La Leona Waterfall Hike, River Rafting, Zip Lining, Estuary Tour, and a Catamaran/ Snorkeling adventure. The beach and good restaurants are within walking distance. Kristi even hooked us up with boogie boards and a man who delivered fresh fish for the grill! Kristi and her partner Doug were the superstars of our stay!

Villa Luna Grande is WONDERFUL! A perfect place for a large group, whether family or friends. We loved the outdoor kitchen/dining/living area and the constant chatter of birds and sometimes the howler monkeys. We loved the walk-ability to the beach and food establishments, yet being on a very quiet road. Playa Grande has a beautiful beach without the hustle and bustle of it's neighbor, Tamarindo. The water taxi is easy to access should you want to take a quick trip to Tamarindo without making the 30 min. drive. I would go back to Villa Luna ... it is so peaceful and comfortable .

This villa is an absolute dream. It looks even more beautiful than the pictures let on and it greatly exceeded our expectations. The kitchen is well-stocked with all the serving wear you might need and the fridge and freezer was plenty large. Pool is cleaned every morning. There is so much wildlife around and the walk to the beach is a very easy one - they have beach chairs, boogie boards, and towels. The only thing that wasn’t just what I expected was that the water taxis aren’t really around regularly so you really do have to pre-book a day in advance if you want to go over to Tamarindo. Also the property is managed by this super kind women who is local - Kristi - so you are never really interfacing with the owner and you communicate with her over What AP (not through b&b). A few days before your trip she will send you helpful docs over email with FAQs. Thank you, Kristi for being a great host!!

Beautiful property with comfortable bedrooms. Kristi, the property manager, gave great recommendations and lined some things up for us. The pool is great, beach is about 10 min walk - hot in the sun but not bad early/late. If you are staying more than a few days you might want a car. Beautiful beach, not a lot of shade, but I think you can rent umbrellas (we did not). The neighborhood is very sleepy and mostly tourists. We didn’t take the boat to Tamarindo, but we would If we were to return! Overall, a great place for a large group to relax.

Our group of 4 adults and two grown teens fit this place perfectly. The sleeping casitas and suites are comfortable and nicely air conditioned. The open air kitchen, eating area, and relaxing area is spacious and well equipped. One small thing - we brought cushions out from the bedroom to use on the dining and relaxing chairs. The pool was great with both shaded and sunny spots to relax. It was a short walk to a lovely beach. We mostly ate in, but the one time we ate at one of the two local restaurants (short walk), the food was delicious, although the service was super slow - however it was probably their busiest day of the year so can’t complain. There is a terrific fruit and vegetable market in Playa Grande (5 minute drive) and a decent grocery store just a few minutes further on. We had a problem with the AC remote in one room and it was solved by the local agent promptly, which was terrific considering it was Christmas week. We had a great time here.

This was a good stay for our group of 9. The home is down a dirt road a ways, so having 4x4 is helpful, but it feels very private, exclusive, and authentic. It was nice to have everyone have separate casitas and their own rooms and bathrooms. It felt like we had our own mini hotel, and the locals described the home as authentic Costa Rica living. The pool is nice and a comfortable temperature. We were there right after a rain storm and, as expected there were lots of mosquitos, but they got better as the rain lessened throughout our stay. You have most of what you need within walking distance or nearby. The restaurants within walking distance are great (but a little expensive), your steps away from the Estuary where you can see gators, monkeys, and birds, and a 10 minute walk to the beach - which is well known for surfing. There is also yoga and surf lessons within walking distance.

What an amazing weekend! The property is gorgeous. There are some rustic bits that we enjoyed. Water taxi to Tamrindo is super easy to use. The number is in the book or on a tree outside the hotel (currently closed) across the street. Nice 10-minute walk to the beach on the other side. Fun to watch all the surfers and listen to the waves. Only complaint were the beds were a little hard. To be fair I have a sleep number at home so pretty spoiled.

This Villa felt like we were in the middle of the jungle, beautifully landscaped, birds, iguanas, gecko's, and monkeys. The pool was serviced every morning and was a lifesaver for us in the heat. The boat taxi picked us up 50 yards away and the neighborhood was peaceful . Very close to several excellent restaurants, a great little grocery store with decent prices and a fresh fruit and vegetable stand . The beach was wide and uncrowded. We enjoyed our stay very much.
