Perfect getaway away from the crowds of Bacalar, about ten minutes north of the town. Great for swimming, as the water is deep right off the dock. We enjoyed the grill outside. Beautiful environment.

It is a stunning house in an incredible location. Our family had a great time and hope to return in the future.

I highly recommend staying at this amazing place. From our arrival to our departure, we enjoyed it very much. Comfortable rooms, well heated, the view from the balcony of the lagoon and La Paz is incredible, and the tranquility you feel on the pier is difficult to explain. Andrew as a host also gets a 10/10. We had a slight setback because one of the guests we were traveling with took the keys to one of the cars we had. Our check-out was at 11am, and he allowed us to stay longer than allowed until the guest returned. The cleaning staff was also very friendly. We definitely hope to return soon.

The house is super nice, the bedrooms are super comfortable, the beds are wonderful, the house is impeccable, everything is very clean, and the best thing, which is a gem, is the dock for being in the lagoon. You can literally swim all day… it's super safe and beautiful. We enjoyed it very much.

If you’ve ever been to Bacalar, you know it I Is up and coming and finding a place to stay is almost like throwing a dart. This was for sure a bullseye! We’ve come a few times now and this is one of our favorite stays. The pier right off off the water and this place just makes you feel at home. Andrew is super communicative as well!

We had an amazing time at Andrew’s Lagoon front home. It was perfect for our family. He was very communicative and had wonderful suggestions and recommendations for everything we needed.

A simply beautiful place, a very large house. Even for the 7 of us, we had privacy in all the areas of the house. The kayaks were definitely a plus and what we enjoyed the most. We were able to see the sunrise in the middle of the lake thanks to this amenity. The recommendations, a chat, and the host's services were very good. We definitely hoped to stay longer, but we couldn't.

The whole family loved the house. It has everything you could need: board games, dryer, iron, enough pans, coffee maker, kayaks, hammocks, etc. The photos don't do it justice. Andrés, the host, was super attentive and responsive. She gave us the keys and said goodbye. We all felt right at home and super comfortable.

This is the second time we have stayed in this beautiful house, and its beauty never ceases to amaze us, as does the peace that permeates this wonderful place. Andrew is the best host you can find, an excellent person and human being.

This home is truly all about the waterfront access, and it delivers wonderfully on that front. We spent most of our time here on the dock, which was a delight. It is very private as well, although there are groundskeepers and security. The host wanted to meet us on our way in and out which was unconventional. His messaging was extremely proactive and quick. The house itself is great and newly renovated - comfy beds, functional kitchen, and great lighting.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa! It’s so spacious and has everything you need. And it looks even more beautiful in person than in the pictures. We stayed for only 1.5 days due to a flight delay and wish we were staying at least double that. It’s not the easiest place to find but Ingrid and Andrew are both extremely responsive on messages. The location is peaceful and the place is more suited for a private relaxing holiday with family and friends. Note that it is not walking distance to restaurants and you need a car. Thank you for an amazing family time!

The stay was much better than expected, even though we had high expectations to begin with. The house is picture-perfect and was spotless. The outdoor space, and especially the jetty over the lagoon, make it a truly unique place. Andrew and Ingrid have been very helpful, with quick replies and super availability. Definitely, without a doubt, a place and accommodation I would return to.

A magical place to stay while exploring Lake Bacalar. The private dock on the lagoon — complete with swings and hammocks right over the water — was the highlight for our whole family. Our two boys (ages 3 and 6) called it ‘a jungle’ and didn’t want to leave! Set in a beautiful natural landscape with stunning views of the seven colors, it was the perfect retreat after a day of adventures on the lake. ‘Definitely recommend!

A true haven of peace!

Such a beautiful rental! The hosts were on top of communication over a week out and consistently throughout our stay. The property is gorgeous, incredibly spacious, and you just can’t beat the lagoon access. It’s also so close to the centro to drive or taxi (about 8ish minutes). We felt safe, peaceful, and very welcomed !

Stayed for a couple days in March, great waterfront location with plenty of space for a group to enjoy. Host was attentive and responsive. We had an excellent stay.

Everything was very comfortable, quiet, and safe.

We stayed in March for 4 days on a family trip. It was amazing; everything was clean and tidy. It's exactly like the photos. It has a private dock where you can use the kayak or enjoy the sunrise or sunset. The hosts were incredible, always attentive and providing local recommendations. The only important thing to note is that the property is a 4-minute drive from downtown Bacalar, which wasn't an issue for us, as it made the place more private. We hope to come back!

Everything was perfect! The house is very large and located in a paradise location with direct access to the water. We had a great time there and would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved the house. It was beautifully decorated and the location on the water was incredible. We loved spending our time down on the private dock over the lagoon, along with the view from the home. There were multiple areas to chill out and take in the view, that it wasn't always easy to choose which one to enjoy. The bedrooms were comfortable and the views from the bedrooms upstairs delivered. I also enjoyed the beautiful fresh flowers in every room in the house. It was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay in Bacalar for a family

Just spent a week at Villa Alegra with another couple and everything was perfect! The home and grounds were spotless and we had everything we needed (kayaks, beach towels, lots of local recommendations). There are so many great restaurants and food stands in Bacalar that we were out for dinner every night, but did most breakfasts and lunches at home, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and we all appreciated having two pillows each ;) There was some unusually cold weather for Mexico during our stay so did not require the air conditioning, but did appreciate the extra blankets provided. Lastly, we especially enjoyed the fresh flowers that were left in every room, a very thoughtful touch! We hope to return again!

This was by far the best house we stayed in. Andrew and Ingrid took great care of this house and the inside and outside were pristine. When we came in the house we just looked at each other and said WOW! We had to take it all in. The location right on the lagoon was amazing. We went kayaking and were able to embark on a boat ride from their pier. The master bedroom was very large and had a spectacular view. We would love to come back again.

Dream house in Bacalar with its own private dock, kayaks, paddle board and full kitchen. Easy access to the outside door and 10 minutes away from a large super maket, although leaving will be hard since the place is so beautiful.

I am so grateful to Andrew and Ingrid for their hospitality and beautiful home. It is clear the care and attention they put into the house. It also meant a lot to stay somewhere that cares for the stewardship of the natural surroundings. From the very beginning, Andrew and Ingrid went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. They gave great recommendations and set us up with a boat tour and a chef for our first evening there. The home was stunning- filled with fresh flowers, great views, and a gorgeous garden in the backyard. The privacy gave us the chance to really relax and spend quality time with one another. Everybody who works at the house is very kind and welcoming. It’s a trip my friends and I will never forget and the perfect introduction to Bacalar.

Un paraiso The property is amazing, we felt very comfortable, we would have liked to stay longer. Everything is great, just as it appears in the photos.

The house was absolute heaven! It looked exactly like the pictures. The landscaping in the back was beautiful and there were little hangout spots at every level. The dock was our favorite spot, even at night the lighting was incredible. We loved it so much that we were sad to leave. Ingrid and Andrew were very helpful and response, and Jose so kind. Andrew’s home is a treasure.

Spectacular house, the best thing is the private dock. Cozy and very calm place. My family and I had an amazing time. Super attentive hosts. It is recommended to ask for the phone number of the chefs who are going to cook, everything is delicious.

Andrew’s place is amazing . The house is a designer piece but the front yard is the masterpiece: directly on the Laguna with many spots to relax in the shade or in the sun. The location is perfect, private but only 5’ minutes by car to many exceptional restaurants and short drives to many attractions. Andrew is very responsive and helpful with a lot of good local recommendations . Thank you : we hope to be back soon

Andrew and his wife Ingrid were so helpful and attentive to all of our needs. They followed up with me days before our arrival and throughout our arrival. They made sure we had instructions on how to get to their home and offered recommendations of places to eat, places to visit and tours to take. The house is just as it is listed in the pictures, everything was clean and we had everything that we needed and more to make our stay enjoyable. We were in love with the house and will definitely come back in the future!

Beautiful house, clean, tidy, it has everything you need in the kitchen to prepare your food (salt, oil, condiments, pans, glasses etc.) just bring the ingredients to make your meals, there is a supermarket where you can buy groceries and other things, market, or restaurants if you prefer. The impeccable house adorned with natural flowers, spacious, the beautiful lagoon with private dock, as described in the publication. Communication with Andrew was excellent, he was always attentive and helped with all questions. Mr. José, who takes care of the place at night, is super friendly, as are the people of Bacalar. Special mention to the tour and Erick who took us on the tour of the lagoon! Highly recommended, hire Andrew because he refers us to really reliable people, he helped us at all times, I definitely recommend the place and would return at the next opportunity. The house has many stairs (towards the Pier) and is 2 stories for people who find it difficult it can be complicated.

What truly sets it apart is the breathtaking lagoon view from every room – a magical sight to wake up to. The private access to the lagoon was a huge highlight, complete with kayaks and life vests, making it fun and safe for the kids and relaxing for the adults. The kitchen was fully equipped, the living areas comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and luxurious. The hosts were kind, responsive, and made sure everything was just right. We left with amazing memories and would absolutely return. Highly recommended for families or friends looking for beauty, calm, and nature – with all the comforts of home.

We stayed with our 3 daughters in this fabulous exclusive villa on the shores of Lake Bacalar. A waking dream, a magnificent private pontoon that offers you a natural pool of incredible immensity. The sunset and sunrise will leave us with unforgettable memories. The house is spacious and very well laid out, the garden superbly maintained with an ignane as host 😀 Andrew is a very friendly, welcoming, warm and available owner. We recommend this villa that will offer you an unparalleled experience where our only desire was for time to stop. we didn't leave the villa because we felt so good there. Thank you Andrew for allowing us to have this experience and beautiful memories for us and our daughters. Finally, we really enjoyed having a canoe and paddle to enjoy the lake. we would recommend this villa without hesitation.

Our group immediately fell in love with the home’s design, beautifully landscaped grounds, lagoon views and private deck. Andrew and Ingrid are great hosts, they provided clear instructions and great recommendations on local restaurants and must visit local attractions. We closed our visit to Bacalar with a private sailing tour recommended by Andrew which was the highlight of our trip. I stayed 2 nights at this property with my group of 7. Andrew and Ingrid were extremely responsive and gave me a lot of suggestions about tours and restaurants at Bacalar: they arranged a very nice boat tour of the lagoon. The house is wonderful, with a private pontoon where you can spend hours just contemplating the lagoon. The house is also guarded at night for an even better peace of mind. I definitively recommend Andrew and Ingrid property to everyone planning to spend some days in the wonderful Bacalar Lagoon!

A nice house, with everything you need, very close to downtown Bacalar, private, safe, its dock, lounge chairs, view, I would come back, the hosts are a 10, the only thing as a point of improvement would be to repair the burned out lights in the garden, a minor thing, but 100% lit it would look even more beautiful, a light on the dock and that's it, but everything is very good

Fantastic Getaway! The house was lovely decorated, felt safe at all times. Had everything we needed and some more. We felt very comfortable from day one! The best, the private access to the lagoon. The pier with the palapa is an all day round favorite! Easy to get to town for dining, lots of options and experience the town vibe at night! Andrew and Ingrid were great hosts, received us upon arrival with lots of info about surroundings. We will be back, and no doubt where we will be staying 🥰🥰🥰

Andrew and Ingrid are amazing hosts. They helped us from start to finish and gave us lots of helpful tips. They were very responsive whenever we had any questions. Cleaning was done half of our stay and it was perfect, the maid's work was incredibly well done, it's much appreciated. The villa as well as the outdoor space are splendid, I recommend it! This Airbnb is paradise. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, the dock is perfect, and Andrew & Ingrid are incredible hosts. The location is perfect - an easy ride into town for great restaurants and some night life, but far enough away that it feels like a private escape. Also a huge bonus that it’s an eco friendly home. Villa Alegre was a dream! Beautifully designed house in a spectacular setting. We loved the many spaces and overall privacy of the property. Nicely located away on a quiet stretch of the lake but also close to town. Andrew and Ingrid were model hosts: provided great recommendations and available for any question or need that may arise. We stayed for eight days and it was still sad to leave!

If I could give this home 100 stars I would! We stayed at Ingrid and Andrew’s home for 5 nights. They sent us detailed instructions, and met us to give us an orientation to the property. This home is one of the most amazing homes we have ever stayed in. It’s tastefully decorated, comfortable, ecologically sustainable, and the landscaping is out of this world. The kitchen is very well stocked, and bottled water was provided. The beds were very comfortable, and black out blinds helped kids sleep. Our last day there we spent on the dock, in and out of the water. The location is 5 min outside of Bacalar, and we were given great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Andrew arranged us a boat tour, and it was so lovely. Bacalar was such a beautiful trip. We loved our days there. Thank you so much, and we’d love to visit again.

This little slice of heaven was exactly what the doctor called for to have a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. We even got a local massage recommendation and they came to the villa and did 2 sets of couples massage by the water. We also were thrilled to have Mariana make us a delicious breakfast and tidy up the kitchen. The sailboat tour even picked us up off of our dock for a real luxurious treat. Thank you so much for everything, I would love to come back.

We had a lovely Christmas in this fabulous property on the lagoon. It is beautifully designed and furnished with a great selection of areas to use outside. Andrew is an excellent and attentive host who communicates quickly and clearly. If you haven’t got a car it’s very easy and cheap to use the local taxi company to get in and out of town. Apart from confirming all the other excellent reviews all I can add is that the master bedroom is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views, we adored the lovely flowers left all over the house, there are quite a few steps up and down to the pontoon area to consider if you are dodgy on your feet and there is a useful local scooter company that deliver groceries.

Andrew and Ingrid’s home is spectacular. It is very well designed and looks just like the photos. Our group of 7 was very comfortable in the home and appreciated all of the little details (like fresh flowers upon arrival). We kayaked and enjoyed the water every day. The hosts were super responsive and provided fantastic local recommendations. The only downside was that we couldn’t stay forever! Thanks for a fabulous stay. We’ll be back!

Villa Alegre is a beautiful home right on the lagoon with amazing views, plenty of spots to relax indoors and out, and direct access to the water from an amazing dock. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedrooms are comfortable, and everything was so clean when we arrived. We had a wonderful time.

I can’t express how much we loved this home and hosts. The hosts went above and beyond what hosts need to do. The house was incredible with incredible views and everything you need. The location is perfect and it’s so easy to call a taxi to go into town which is only 5 min away. They also have a grocery delivery service which came in handy. We will absolutely be back!

2 amazing days in this beautiful villa, very clean, well located with a beautiful dock to enjoy the lagoon, kayaks and paddleboard available, the sailboat for our tour picked us up directly from the dock , which is very nice. Following a personal medical concern, Ingrid was extremely kind, very available and valuable help to accompany us in our steps, I recommend + ++++
