Casa derecha was a home away from home and was absolutely perfect. The house was large, quiet, super clean, and what we needed for our stay in Samara. There was obviously lots of love put into the space and it was well cared for. We were visited by howler monkeys (they seemed to commute around the house at 8am), coatis and raccoons. Getting into town was easy and Samara is a dream location for relaxing and adventures. Huge shoutout to the host Maria who checked in often and was available for anything we needed or questions we had. Do not hesitate to book jingle jangle jungle as a perfect stay in Costa Rica!

We had a fantastic time in this house! Living right in the jungle, in peace and quiet, and yet so close to the sea, is a dream.

Perfect accommodation for two families. Minutes walk to the beach. Very quiet place. The house is very well-equipped, and Maria responds very quickly to requests. Recommended!

Great house located in the jungle, a little set back from the village, which ensures much-appreciated tranquility. We had daily visits from howler monkeys and coatis, which we really enjoyed. Attentive welcome and very effective communication with Maria. Lots of indoor and outdoor space, a very nice swimming pool, and bicycles available to get to the village and the beach. We would definitely recommend this little piece of heaven!

Excellent stay. We have traveled 90+\- days in costa over the last few years and each place is unique as is the people and homes who are available. If you’re looking for a quote place in a jungle surrounding, this is fantastic. If you’re looking for a clean place with great hosts, this place is fantastic. Close to town, yet out enough to be quite from human noises. Enjoyed the morning jogs to the beach, the pool and the proximity to everything.

Our stay at Jingle Jangle Jungle was fabulous. We loved the layout of the house, patio area, pool, and privacy. Maria was an excellent host and stayed in contact with us and responded to all messages promptly with an answer. She also booked our tours with excellent guides and checked in frequently. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The town of Sámara was a delight. It felt welcoming and safe- our teenagers loved exploring all our options for food and beaches. Rent a golf cart!!

Maria is excellent. House is beautiful, inviting, clean, & secluded. Golf cart rental for the win. They offer the service and it was seamless. Delivered it to us. Made it much easier to get around with kids. We enjoyed the monkeys and pool area. This was the only location my bug spray didn’t seem to work, so would suggest a repellant lotion and spray. Especially if sitting out on patio. Appreciated beach chairs and boogie boards. A delightful house to stay in. Only drawback - I asked if it is safe or if there was anything to worry about with having kids there & was told nothing to worry about. Turns out there is a prevalent petty theft problem in the area. Check fb groups for info. I was unaware. I would have preferred to have been given that information before/at booking to make an informed decision, but did appreciate info. at check-in. I do think owner is proactive with problem. I didn’t sleep much b/c worried at night. If you can relax despite issue, then you will love it.

This house is beautiful with a gorgeous jungle setting close to the beach. It is well stocked with kitchen equipment and beach accessories and was perfect for our group of six (4 adults, 2 small children). The bikes are handy; we used them a few times to ride to the bakery to pick up breakfast. The beach and town is walkable for adults or older children, but too far for little kids. However, driving is very quick and easy and we never had an issue with parking. We were there last week of April and the town was very chill, no crowds or traffic. Samara beach is beautiful and was perfect for our family, great swimming with gentle waves for the kids, and we loved the low key vibes of the town. Excellent stores a few minutes from the house and wonderful fruit stand right by the entrance to the driveway. The jungle around the house is full of animals, we loved watching the monkeys from the pool. Watch out for mangos, the monkeys drop them! Bring ear plugs if night frog sounds bother you.

We had a great stay in Costa Rica. The home was clean, comfortable, and in a beautiful location. The outdoor space, monkeys in the trees, a friendly coati grazing the grounds, and pool were a highlight for the kids. The host was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

This was a perfect spot for our family. The location was great, private so it was quiet. We rented a golf cart and went to the beach in a quick 7 minute drive. Very easy to get into town. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio in the mornings and evenings. Really appreciated that beach gear was available. And they were super helpful in arranging shuttles and other adventures. We loved our stay and would 100% go back!

The house was fantastic; the property was even better! The property manager and owners were also very friendly, helpful and communicative. There’s not much we could add in our review that hasn’t already been said many times (very accurately) by other previous travelers. The outdoor spaces are so phenomenal and so peaceful that we really never spent much time inside the house. The house was stocked with literally everything you could need. If we go back to Samara again, we would definitely book the same house again without thinking twice!

We had an amazing stay at the Jingle Jangle Jungle. Close to the beaches and everything in Samara. The pool with the sun deck was perfect for our toddler and we spent many hours enjoying it while watching the monkeys eating mangos overhead. There is a fruit and produce market just past the end of the drive way and a small grocery store with everything you need is just a 5 minute walk down the road. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Derecha. We were two families (4 adults and 4 children), and the space was perfect for our needs, with its three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house and pool are beautiful and exactly as shown in the photos. The location is safe and quiet, but close to restaurants and the beach. We saw many coatis and howler monkeys. Maria is an efficient manager, and our hosts were very supportive when someone in our group experienced an unfortunate incident. This is a 5-star accommodation in every way, and we would not hesitate to highly recommend it. Thank you for helping make this vacation unforgettable for our two families.

This was the perfect place to stay for 2 families. The private pool was just de right size for the afternoon quick dip after the beach. The kitchen is very well equipped and we did not miss anything. The large patio door everywhere is beautiful. We really appreciated the private outdoor shower but also the washing station/shower near the pool for when coming back from the beach. We would go back anytime ! We loved Samara! Amazing restaurant and not too busy beach.

Wow! We had such a beautiful and peaceful time at Jingle Jangle Jungle! The place was stunning, tucked in the woods, away from the road and busier downtown. We felt very safe with my parents and young kiddos! The house had absolutely everything we needed- all necessities in the kitchen, games, towels, boogie boards, bikes, and spacious rooms. The outdoor space was beautiful. We want to mention that the pool is more of a relaxing/wading pool, and not for swimming. There was a market right down the street and an awesome fruit vendor! We ended up renting a car to take day trips to waterfalls and other beaches/ towns. Samara was so welcoming! A wonderful mix and the friendliest Ticos and international visitors. We found amazing places to eat with our favorites being in Mercadito Samara- Tika Frutika, The Curry Shack, and Casa 4. A highlight of the trip was the full day coffee farm tour and immersive Costa Rican experience through Book with Maria. We highly recommend this place! Thanks!

Once again, Maria made our stay very special. The home was immaculate and had everything we needed from cookware to full beach necessities. It is in an amazing location, in the jungle but only 5 minutes from the beach by golf cart (a great way to travel). Grocery stores are nearby and a wonderful fruit stand appeared at the bottom of the drive this year. This house will not disappoint. Thanks for everything , Maria!

When we chose this villa, we were looking for an environment in the "jungle" and close to the beach. For the trees and monkeys! And that's exactly what we got. The monkeys came to visit us almost every day, they went from tree to tree just above the villa! We loved the villa and the surroundings. The best equipped villa of all the villas visited so far. Fruit, coffee, sugar, several choices of spices, bike, chairs and cooler for the beach… WoW! These are small touches that make all the difference. The villa we visited afterwards had none of that. Beautiful 12 days in this villa, we highly recommend it. And a big thank you to Maria, who followed up proactively with us throughout our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house in Sámara. The home is surrounded by jungle, offering lots of space, privacy, and a peaceful atmosphere while still being in a great location close to the beach and town. It feels tucked away and very quiet. We had a small issue with the hot water, but Maria and the owners were incredibly responsive and helpful, resolving things quickly. Maria and the owners were lovely to communicate with and made us feel very well taken care of. We would absolutely recommend this place and would love to stay again.

We loved our stay so much!! It is so quiet and peaceful with the gorgeous jungle surrounding you, yet close to everything (2-10 minute bike ride to everything). The home was very clean and well outfitted. There is a great little grocery store at the end of the driveway that we used everyday, with wine, beer etc. The pool was wonderful to cool off after a run or a workout(stadium 8 gym is only a 5 minute walk) and the hammock was a beautiful spot to relax in. We loved taking the bikes into town and enjoyed all of the different restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and beaches of Samara. Some of our favourites were Sherrifs,Roots, Gusto (also a beautiful spot for drinks in the evening). Just down the road is easy access to the north end of Samara beach, which is truly stunning!! We also had the pleasure of meeting the hosts Greg and Rachel, they were so lovely and welcoming! Thank you so much!!

We were in this house for a 10 day trip. Booking any experiences - including the shuttle from the airport, you will receive the worst standards for the standard price. It took us 3 hours to arrive as the vehicle was in the poorest condition and we couldn’t even see out the window! These hosts work with their property manager and we had the worst massages, the worst day trip (they take you to a roadside Sloth Zoo- we asked to go home after this first experience- no refund or apology) and the cooks are the cleaners for your private chef- we had the exact same meal both nights and cleaned. The pools are tiny bathing pools- not swimmable. Bad pillows Cheap sheets No blankets No restocking of any basic things like toilet paper, garbage bags etc No body wash, shampoo and conditioner in isquerda Washing machine leaks Pool guys used all water in tank Broken mosquito screens Bikes all broken Cleaned only once- no new sheets or washed sheets Cooks just did dishes left a big mess (garbage etc)
Host Response
We offer beautiful and impeccably kept homes and unparalleled attention (which you said in Watsapp). Future guests: please see all 5 star reviews (including María’s excellent service) and note this guest has been reported for making false claims and harassment of staff. Third party services (ex. excursions) are unrelated to our homes. Your statements are however untrue: after having a massage, you booked a second; shuttle was 3 hrs as you wanted many stops (not charged for). Sloth excursion is a sanctuary not a zoo. You also received complimentary river trip and restaurant meal by driver. You wanted cooks not chefs and it is not their responsibility to clean the home. Meals prepared you requested in Watsapp. We canceled further meal preparation services after cooks made complaints of harassment/abuse by a guest. The newly built pools are for wading as shown in photos and description (they is a chest deep area and a tanning deck). Consumables are provided at check in and were replenished during the free extra cleaning provided to you. Bikes are well maintained by a local mechanic. A bike was broken during your stay and hidden behind the trash bin. We offer new quality bedding, pillows and a blanket on each bed (see photos). Extras are available on the shelves in each room).

Maria was an amazing host- she quickly responded to any question or issue we had. The house itself was comfortable (however beware of bugs if it’s rained recently! We battled the ants in the house, but it’s the jungle! 🤷🏼♀️). The beds were comfy, and the pool was nice to have. The provided beach essentials were great as well. The location is close to town and the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back to the area. The place is within walking distance of a nice supermarket and a few sodas. However, there were a few things that made us uncomfortable. First, there were no blankets in the house. We slept without them for a few days before asking, and the initial response was, “Maybe the AC is too low?” For the price paid, I felt that shouldn’t have been the question. It gets very humid at night, and we kept the AC in one of the three rooms at 25°C. A blanket was brought to us the next day. Second, the TV remote wasn’t working properly, though this might be an issue with the TV software in Costa Rica. Third, the pool was quite cold. Near the end of our stay, we figured out how to heat it, but the next day a coati had pooped in it and the pump stopped working afterwards. Also the water shuts off at the house anytime pool cleaners clean it. Lastly, the area isn’t very close to the city center or the nicer part of the beach.
Host Response
We're very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your feedback. It would be our pleasure to address your concerns. As seen in the photos, there is a blanket at the foot of every bed for your added comfort. Our property manager, Maria, was happy to provide you with an additional blanket at your request. We are unsure of what issues you encountered with the tv remote. We were relayed the communication from our property manager and we were happy to hear you managed to work the remote. Checking all appliances, including the tv and remote, are a part of the inspection list prior to a new check in. It is our top priority to ensure everything is fully functioning before the arrival of all our guests. Like most pools in Sámara, we do not have a heater and rely on the hot Costa Rican sun to heat our pool. We are glad to hear it heated up to your liking. The pool pump is on a timer and comes on twice a day. Pool cleaners come twice a week, and that does mean that during their visits, the water in the house is reduced for about 15-20 minutes. With regards to coatis... yes... they are part of the wildlife and charm of the jungle :) A pool net is provided to quickly remove anything (including the odd mango which may roll its way in!). In the event of a pool issue, our professional pool crew can be there in no time. We hope you enjoyed the privacy and a sanctuary of our jungle property. We truly have a unique location in that we are 10 minutes walk to downtown Sámara and a quick 8 minutes to the best part of the beach. We love the sprawlingness of the Cangregal area of the beach and how you can always have a huge space to yourself! Not to mention the amazing tide pools at this end, the copos (like a tican snowcone!) carts that pass by and the quick step down the beach to the restos :) It is truly our favourite area, visited by tourists and locals alike. We hope you had a wonderful time and wish you all the best on your future travels! Pura vida! Greg and Rachel

We had the most incredible stay in Samara Beach at the Jingle Jangle Jungle casa derecha! 🌿 It was perfect for the whole family—clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed. The setting was stunning, surrounded by nature but still with all the conveniences you could ask for just a short golf cart ride or walk away. A special thank you to Maria, the property manager—she was amazing! So responsive, kind, and truly went above and beyond to help with anything we needed or wanted to do. Her support made our trip seamless and unforgettable. Highly recommend this home—we would love to visit again!

Our family of 5 (12 year old twins and a 15 year old) had an amazing time at Jingle Jangle Jungle! The setting is so beautiful and peaceful, shaded in the forest. We saw so many animals just from the porch- monkeys, ant eaters, birds! The pool was so refreshing and relaxing after hot days exploring and at the beach. The house had so many great amenities including anything we needed for the beach (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc.). There was a market with anything you might need just steps away. The town and beach were walkable but we often drove with all of the beach gear. My kids took surf lessons and rented surf boards many days which they loved. Maria, the property manager, was incredibly accommodating and helpful with anything we needed- including helping us set up activities. We had a car and were also able to explore other beautiful beaches in the area. Now that we’re back home, we already miss hearing the monkeys in the trees and the peaceful vibe of Sámara.

This stay was a huge highlight of our trip. The reception was warm and welcoming, the house and pool were absolutely gorgeous, and the location was perfect: quiet and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful jungle, but just a short walk or bike ride to town and the beach. The house was also equipped with everything we needed: boogie boards and bikes, not to mention more mundane things that are often missing like a coffee maker with coffee and beach towels. We couldn't have enjoyed it more!

We had a wonderful time at Jingle Jangle Jungle. On day one we saw Howler Monkeys and just about every day after. It feels very remote but you can walk into town in 15 minutes or bike in five. While the town of Samara is on the smaller side, overall the town feels more authentic than other Costa Rica locations. We used the Chef service through Maria and the food was so tasty. The kids swam in the pool every night. We enjoyed Playa Samara the most out of the beaches we visited. Check out Quads-4-U for a fun tour. We were the only ones so it was basically a private tour. I would highly recommend this home.

Great house that worked really well for our two families. Walking distance (2min) to great little market and restaurant. The town of Samara and beach area is only about a 10min walk. We made great use of the indoor and outdoor living room areas. The local property manager was very responsive and took care of anything we needed immediately. It was a very quiet area that allowed us to relax after an active day exploring the nearby beaches.

This property was perfect for the retreat we were hopeful for. The home is removed from the noise and dust of the main road allowing for very relaxing afternoons in the pool. The pool was a great way to cool off, particularly because it is shaded from the hot afternoon sun. The patio was also a great place to hangout and enjoy the surrounding beauty. We observed monkeys in the trees most days and saw fireflies behind the house at night. The kitchen was well equipped; we prepared a number of meals there. The bathrooms are well maintained and plenty of towels are provided. The beds were comfortable and each room had great natural light. The property is very close to the main part of town (5 minute drive) and there is a market walking distance (5 minute walk). The provided bikes made getting to the beach very easy. We are already dreaming of our next trip to this property.

Perfect location and beautiful property! Everything was lovely and even better than pictured. Located about a 15 minute walk from town and a short bike ride to the beach yet nestled away in your own private jungle. We enjoyed listening to all the birds and watching the howler monkeys in the nearby trees. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated having access to the bicycles and beach gear. Greg and Rachel's house is privately located in a cul-de-sac. You can watch monkeys and birds. Unfortunately, communication only takes place through the employee Maria, who sends her employee over if there is a problem. This has little Airbnb character. But the house is beautiful, especially the outdoor area and pool. In the evening, raccoons bathe in the pool. You should check the next morning to see if they have left anything behind. The kitchen is superbly equipped, we didn't miss anything there. An air conditioner in the living area would have been an advantage. But otherwise the house was cozy and tastefully decorated. Our kids were excited about the bodyboards. And the beach with the many beach bars was fantastic!
Host Response
We welcome constructive feedback and are pleased to hear you liked our home. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify that we always available to be contacted through Airbnb. Watsapp is the preferred means of communication in Costa Rica as it is the fastest and most reliable. Our amazing property manager María (as indicated in our consistently 5 star reviews), is quick to reply, assist and always exceeds guests expectations. As you communicated to María that you were unable to operate the dryer, she attempted to talk you through the steps over the phone but when this was unsuccessful, María immediately sent over a house cleaner as they were working in our other house next door. We strive to offer the fastest resolutions possible. We ask that our guests communicate with our Costa Rican staff in a respectful and constructive manner. To clarify for future guests, our homes are not on a cul-de-sac but rather our private drive hiding the homes in the jungle and offering privacy and seclusion to our guests. We absolutely have the wilds of Costa Rica surrounding our homes! Coatis, raccoons, howler monkeys, and hummingbirds are among the many guests that share our jungle property. It’s one of the many reasons we, and our many return guests love Jingle Jangle Jungle. Greg and Rachel

I highly recommend this spot! It's tucked away in lovely little bit of jungle, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and yet very close to town and the beach. This jungle home was just as advertised! Our family of 5 loved our stay close to a great little beach/town with plenty to do or just relax. Great wildlife viewing opportunities aplenty right from the outdoor areas. The hosts have thought of everything you might need to enjoy a day poolside, at the beach, cooking at home, a bike ride into town or observing nature. Pack a pair of binoculars and spend sometime looking for movement in the upper branches, you won't regret it!

The problem with this place isn't staying here, it's leaving here. We were quite sad to return to our boring home with no monkeys and coatis visiting us while we swam by the pool. Everyone else has said such wonderful things about this place, so I don't need to repeat too much. But I did just want to mention how fantastic their property manager Maria is. And that you should definitely use her to book activities for you around town. We tend to be very independent and want to take care of that kind of thing on our own. But Maria simply knows everyone in town and can make all kinds of things happen that would be impossible for you to achieve on your own. Finally, if you've got your heart set on this place and it's not available... check the host's page and see if their other property is available for the dates you're looking for. The two properties are near each other (but certainly not on top of each other) and offer the same experience.

We're coming back from a week-long stay that was too short. We were 4 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 7. The house is very beautiful (as shown in the photos), and we enjoyed the beautiful pool. Well-equipped kitchen, beach towels and beach games for children, all of this helped make our stay very pleasant. The house is located within walking distance to town and Playa Samara, while being isolated in the "jungle". Beautiful outdoor decor with the presence of howler monkeys😁. We had a great family vacation at Greg & Rachel's. We would highly recommend it.

We landed here last minute by chance after leaving another Airbnb early and we got so lucky. After many great Airbnbs in Costa Rica, this ended up being our favourite. A real jungle oasis yet walkable to beach and to town. The design was very well executed and the property beautiful with lots of wildlife. The soaring palm tree next to the pool. The resident howler monkeys. The thoughtful lighting bringing the surrounding trees to life at night. The high-quality furniture. And Maria, the property manager, who was a real gem. This is a place we will dream of returning to. 5/5 stars.

This beautiful Airbnb nestled in the Costa Rican jungle offered the perfect blend of nature and convenience. The clean, well-maintained property sits close enough to town for easy access while providing an authentic jungle atmosphere. We woke daily to howler monkeys calling from nearby trees—a magical experience! The hosts thoughtfully provided a baby crib and were exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay. The combination of jungle immersion with proximity to gorgeous beaches made this the ideal getaway. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic Costa Rican experience without sacrificing comfort.

Wow what a place! The house looks exactly like the pictures and is immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed. We really appreciated the small things like having coffee/tea and spices available. Washer and dryer were great. Location was perfect-walkable to the beach and grocery but very private and hidden away for total relaxation. The pool, landscaping, and outdoor lights are so beautiful as well. There were so many little details that we so appreciated such as having the lockbox so we didn’t have to worry about keys on the beach, safe, bikes, beach chairs, flash lights/torches (we had a power outage one evening and having the flashlights available was REALLY helpful). Our family of four was able to spread out and have their own bedrooms which made everyone happy. Many thanks to Maria for being super responsive and helpful. We are hoping to return in 2026!

We had a lovely stay. close to the city center but quiet. We were thrilled to see a family of howler monkeys on arrival. clean, well-equipped accommodation (wine glasses would still be missing). Thanks for the beach towels.

I stayed at Rachel and Greg’s place for a few nights with my husband, our 8 month old daughter and my mother-in-law. The space was perfect for our group! We loved sitting outside in the patio area and being surrounded by the beautiful and lush landscape while listening to the sounds of nature. A highlight was listening to and seeing the monkeys each day. We had a great stay!

Pure Bliss Again! This is our second time coming back to this airbnb. The experience here is unmatched by any! The jungle right outside the door is truely a paradise and is not only gorgeous but also provides more wildlife then anywhere else in all of Samara that we saw. Well stocked and exquisitely decorated house. We especially love the provided bikes, boogie boards, bbq and the private outside shower and appreciate all the planning that went into this place. We would love to stay here again if we were back in the area.

Jingle Jangle Jungle is a pristine home in a beautiful jungle-like setting. We had so much fun talking to the monkeys who came to watch us often. And the pool was such a wonderful reprieve from the hot beaches. Maria was always available when we needed something or had a question. She definitely takes care of the guests. We hope to return again next year!

We loved our stay at Casa Dereche in Jingle Jangle Jungle. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The house was great. We were 2 couples and we had everything we needed. The hosts and property manager were very responsive and helpful. We would definitely go back to Samara Beach and stay at this property!

We had such a nice stay at Greg and Rachel's home. The home is lovely - perfect size and layout for two families. Simple but everything we needed, and the pool is amazing. Being tucked into the jungle was amazing - even with the monkey visits and other wildlife. It was an easy walk to the beach and into town for everything we needed nearby. We rented a car in town to drive to nearby lovely beaches (Barrigona is a must!). Maria, the concierge that Greg and Rachel work with, is wonderful! She was so helpful with any questions or help we needed - setting up tours, shuttles to and from the airport, and even helping with a flat tire. We highly recommend Casa Derecha! Thank you for a great stay!

We stayed in Casa Izquierda and it was absolutely wonderful and perfect for our 3 week getaway. The house was clean, well suited for two families with kiddos and the jungle vibes were lovely and peaceful. We got the chance to meet and chat with Greg and he was so helpful and friendly. The local host, Maria, was always available for all of our questions and helped us book excursions with the most gracious and friendly guides. Greg and Rachel's place is a dream and we would book again in a heartbeat! Thanks for having us and we hope to see you again!!

Despite some small AC problems that stopped working due to a voltage drop, the hosts and Maria quickly fixed the problem the next morning, everything was functional again. The house is beautiful, well-equipped, in an enchanting jungle setting, clean and very quiet. Bikes are available to get to the sea or to the city. The outdoor pool and terrace are a WOW!

We had an amazing stay at Jingle Jangle Jungle! The hosts were great and super helpful and made great recommendations! The house couldn't be more perfect, we spent most of our time in the indoor/outdoor living space enjoying the outdoors rain or shine - the pool was perfect too and cleaned often! The house is well situated, just outside Samara, which is easy to walk or bike to. There are many great restaurants and shops in town. We would stay here again! Our only regret is not staying longer! Thanks Greg, Rachel and Maria

If you are looking for a little piece of heaven on earth, this is it. Often with airbnb's I think oh I wish they had this or that, this was not the case at Jingle Jangle Jungle. Greg and Rachel are incredible hosts and their house manager is too!

We had a wonderful stay! The home was beautiful, and the jungle surroundings were absolutely gorgeous. It was just a short walk to the beach and town, making the location perfect. We loved the complimentary fruit—it was so fresh and delicious! The house was also great for babies, with a high chair and cot thoughtfully provided. Maria gave us fantastic local recommendations that made our trip even more special. Highly recommend Greg and Rachel’s place—we can’t wait to return!

Beautiful spot in the jungle, a few minutes drive to the lovely Samara. Maria was always responsive and we appreciated the fruit and early check in. The covered deck and pool area were great and the bedrooms accommodated our family of 6 well. Loved the outdoor shower and all the screened windows and doors that opened up to let the outside in when it was too rainy to head out. I would recommend a vehicle with some clearance if you visit during the wet season as the roads in this area had very large potholes. The iguanas and coatis that came to visit were fun, but the monkeys didn’t make an appearance for us.

Our family had a great time spending a week at Casa Izquierda. We saw monkeys everyday eating and playing in the trees above the house and we loved being surrounded by the lush jungle and nature. We used the bikes to get to the beach and into town, are at the local soda restaurants nearby and the market nearby had all the food and amenities you could want. Loved the outdoor shower and having laundry with a dryer on-site was a luxury! Maria was super kind and helpful, very attentive to our questions and needs. Overall I’d highly recommend 1-2 families staying here and enjoying all the home and Samara has to offer. Thank you for a perfect week!

Amazing house in an amazing town. We exclusively stayed in airbnbs during our month long CR trip, and this was one of our favorites. First off, the location is amazing. Waking distance to town on a route people actually use to walk to town (compared to some neighborhoods north of the town center). Despite this location convenience you are completely surrounded by nature. A lot places that in the jungle in CR come with all sorts of bugs. This place was impressively sealed for the setting. Other pluses: strong ac, awesome pool, constant wildlife. Definitely worth the price!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Derecha. The location was perfect; secluded but close enough to the beach and downtown. The pool was perfect for cooling off. The surrounding wildlife kept us entertained. The facilities were great and the kitchen well stocked. We highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this jungly house! The large windows create such a beautiful feeling, especially during the wild downpours of rainy season. We also thoroughly enjoyed the small pool (it’s super chlorinated, good to know if you have sensitive skin like me) and hanging in the hammock when we weren’t adventuring around. The house was super clean, and when we had an ant problem, the manager’s Maria’s crew came and fixed it immediately. Despite the walkability of the location, we would’ve found it tricky to be with our very young kids without our rental car. Get a 4x4 if you come during rainy season because the roads are super bumpy. The house is great for young kids because of the fun bunkbeds and pretty cat visitors and pool!

I cannot recommend this house highly enough! It was everything and more!!! The location was absolutely stunning and so private! Samara is just simply the perfect Costa Rican spot! The food was outstanding and so much to do! Maria, their house manager, attended to our every need and arranged transportation to and from the airport as well as concierge level excursions. The house has the perfect layout and is secluded, but also close enough to restaurants and activities to walk. It was so safe and friendliest people everywhere. The layout of the house was perfect and constantly used the outdoor living area. The only tiny recommendation I’d have is to heat the pool since it is shaded, but still amazing and we loved using it. Everything was top notch and we will definitely be back!! Rent this place and I promise you will fall in love and won’t be disappointed! Truly the perfect vacation!

My family (myself, my husband, and 5-month old baby) had a wonderful stay at Jingle Jangle Jungle. The house could have easily accommodated a much larger group. The house was extremely well-kept and clean, and had everything we needed. The strong A/C kept us very cool and comfortable, and the blackout curtains were effective in keeping the sun out during our baby's naps. The location is a little bit outside the main town of Samara, but only a 5 minute's drive to the beach (not super walkable). I would highly recommend having a four-wheel drive to stay here, as the house is located up an unpaved road, which got extremely muddy during the heavy rains. When our family visited us one rainy night, one of the (non-four-wheel drive) cars nearly got stuck in the mud, though our Toyota Prado had no trouble navigating it. To our hosts' credit, Maria was very responsive and said a crew would be installing a new drainage system to help with the issue. Highly recommend. Would love to return!

Really loved Jingle Jangle Jungle. The house is laid out nicely. I love the patio and pool. Had all of the amenities listed. AC worked well. It’s a really short drive or bike ride to town. Beds were comfortable. Loved seeing the monkeys every day. The kids liked the board games.

We stayed at Greg & Rachel’s for 4 nights with our 3 kids (12, 9 & 2). The house was perfect and had all amenities we could have needed. It was clean and comfortable and co-host met us upon arrival to let us in and answer any questions. The outdoor space was fantastic. Felt private but very close and walking or biking distance to the beach & downtown Sàmara. Many howler monkeys in the mango trees surrounding the house and we loved sitting outside and just listening to the wildlife. Co-host Maria was fantastic in helping us facilitate any activities we wanted to do. Thanks to her help, our kids took surfing lessons from a local guy who so much fun. Choco’s Surf School - highly recommended! We also had a local chef come one night to the house who taught the kids to make tortillas and also made us a delicious dinner of marlen ceviche with plantanos verdes fritos & Casado- traditional Costa Rican dish. It was wonderful to spend money on great experiences & supporting local businesses.

This house and location were absolutely stunning and perfect for our family trip. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything we would every need and more, and the pool and patio were the perfect place to enjoy the rain, monkeys, birds, butterflies, and humming birds. We especially appreciated having laundry, beach towels, boogie boards, and snacks upon our arrival. If we are ever in Samara again, we will absolutely stay at Greg and Rachel’s place.

The Derecha house in Jingle Jangle Jungle was amazing! Being surrounded by the jungle and all the beautiful landscaping was so surreal. We also enjoyed the daily visits from the monkeys feasting in the mango trees. The house was beautiful and we will definitely recommend to others.

My family of 5 (including two toddlers) had a wonderful week at this property. The property is surrounded by massive lush mango trees and the daily howler monkey sightings did not disappoint! The pool was very kid friendly. Kitchen was well equipped with cookware, spices, even kids plates/utensils. Our host Maria met us at check-in to show us around and she was incredibly helpful throughout the week via text with local recommendations.

Fantastic home in Samara - easy walk or bike ride to beach and town; completely private w/ gated access and forest surrounds - plenty of wildlife just out the door and from the covered patio - and lots of Howler families w/ babies... :-). Loved the artisan hardwood furniture throughout - very comfortable and cozy. Bedroom AC's worked great if you're used to sleeping cool - and wifi was solid. All of the comforts of home - only in the jungle! Thanks for hosting us and looking forward to next time.

This was our first spot during our two week road trip and our entire family fell in love with this place as well as Samara! We felt at home during our 5-night stay and loved every minute of it. The Casa had everything we needed and each room felt completely private and comfortable. Maria was an excellent help with anything we needed and was a pleasure to have met! We saw so much wildlife everyday and felt very lucky to be there, we would definitely stay again!
