Amazing and beautiful place. The design and detail is incredible. Excellent location. Great and quick communication with the Host. Easy check in and check out. Perfect stay!

Maria’s hacienda was the perfect match. We loved her artistic touch and all of the decorations and Mexican artifacts. We also loved the open and outdoor areas to comfortably enjoy the sun, coffee and birds and church bells. It was a short walk to the Centro for meals etc. Loved the coffee shop across the street. Parking the rental car out front was convenient. Maria’s staff was responsive, kind, and accommodating. We would happily stay here again. Thank you

Maria's place is beautiful and they work hard to keep it clean and make it a welcoming space. Hosts were responsive when I asked questions. The location is right in the heart of a touristy/artsy area which made exploring by foot very easy. Because of its central location, you hear noise at night, especially in the street facing bedrooms. There are many of cats around and they sleep on the outdoor furniture. If you're sensitive to cat smell or allergies, this may be a hard stay for you.

What a special, special place. I will say the pictures don't do it justice. It's so unique and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. We were in touch with Robert all the time, he was terrific. The one downside I would say is that the room in the front closest to the street can sometimes be busy at night. Once you turn on the AC or a white noise machine though, it's no problem at all. 100% would recommend this spectacular home and totally planning to return.

The location is great and we were able to walk to many different restaurants, shops and tourist areas. The house is older with a rustic decor and a unique design that mixes inside and outside spaces that blend together in areas. Unfortunately, during our stay, odors left by outside cats premeated the inside spaces and outside patio spaces. After a few days, we hired the cleaner who cleaned both the house and the patio, but the improvement was temporary. We didn't have hot water upon arrival but that was quickly rectified by the owners. We found the lighting to be dim in the great room. The AC worked well in all rooms.

We absolutely loved our stay at Dolores’ place in Merida! Prior reviews stated that the pictures didn’t do it justice and I couldn’t agree more. It’s hard for pictures to really convey this space. The private outdoor shower was a highlight for me. The location is just steps away from Centro and all of the restaurants and shops. The hosts were very responsive when we accidentally locked ourselves out going to grab coffee at blue bag coffee (highly recommend) across the street. Cannot wait to come back.

Excellent stay!!

Dolores place was a GEM! The house was stunning with every detail carefully thought out while also feeling extremely comfortable and homey. The location is great - close to lots of restaurants and shops. It was a treat to spend a few days in the magical retreat.

Host Response

We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time! . Thank you for staying with us. This is your home!

An absolutely gorgeous house, where every piece of furniture and decoration element is beautiful and was thoughtfully chosen. The house is the encapsulation of Mexican aesthetic and good taste. I also loved the floor plan, with a delightful intertwining of beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces (the garden and pool area is a true oasis in the middle of Merida). I highly recommend this place to guests who value beauty and pay attention to the details. In addition, the hosts were extremely responsive, helpful, proactive and friendly. I will be recommending this place to anyone I know planning a trip to Merida. Five out of five!

Thank you for so much for your wonderful review. We would love to have you staying again with us.

I can’t say enough about how spectacularly beautiful this home is. It’s like staying at a boutique hotel. We spent hours swinging in the hammock over the pool, swimming, and generally lazing around. We had two adults and three kids in our party. Because of the lay out with two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, we had to be thoughtful about who slept where but it worked for us. Our oldest felt independent staying alone downstairs and we adults got to enjoy a gorgeous large bedroom upstairs. Two things I want to call out: 1) we have never slept better. I wish I could take the bed home with us. 2) the second floor outdoor shower is worth the trip. Our hosts were super responsive. We had an electrical problem that was fixed that same evening. They provided us great recommendations for area restaurants, and they had someone to come clean and cook for us one day. The location is great as well. We were able to walk everywhere and had so many options for dinner, museums, and shopping.

Wow! We’ve travelled & stayed in so many different places and can honestly say this place is a hidden oasis. The pictures don’t do it justice, it has so many spots to lounge in and feels like a work of art! We really wished we could’ve extended our stay & are already planning when to go back. The pool is lovely with beautiful flowers surrounding it, the garden is so peaceful and the perfect balance of sun & shade. The bathrooms feel luxurious each with its own unique design. The beds are comfortable with AC in every room. Our toddler also loved this space and couldn’t get enough of the pool/garden. The unique architectural design is something you have to experience in person. Thank you for a great stay!

This place is gorgeous, and I don’t mean cute. I mean it’s a work of art. It’s an architectural interior masterpiece. It makes your mind think differently. It makes you question your judgements and values around form and beauty and expands your acceptance and interaction with the world. The location is part of the story. In this historical barrio you can see that, when made with integrity, old things become more beautiful as they age.

WOW!!! That’s what we all kept saying for about the first hour we were there! The place just kept giving from the moment we stepped in the doorway, to the kitchen/living area, outdoor space, pool, bedrooms and washrooms! I can not say enough good things about Dolores’s place! It was the perfect location close to shops, restaurants and centro! The full kitchen made breakfasts by the pool a treat. Not to mention we had Doña come in one morning to do us breakfast, well worth it! Then to spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon in the pool to beat the midday heat before setting out and exploring the city center. This place has everything to offer and will be our first choice for when we visit Merida again!!! Thank you Dolores and Roberto!!

Thank you for your amazing review!

Stunning home with super high ceilings, gorgeous tile, art, lovely lightning and lots of character! Two bedrooms up and one down. All comfortable and charming. We loved so much about our stay but the cozy outdoor areas were perfect for our family of five (3 adult children) for spacing out to read, chill, nap, etc. Doña Laura's poolside breakfast served on gorgeous Mexican pottery with fresh Jugo Verde was amazing. We enjoy going out and exploring restaurants but this is so worth it! Book the daily breakfast! Bonus - Blue Bag Coffee is literally across the street and massages at Coqui Coqui is a 4 minute walk.
