This place is a 10/10. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it. Such a beautiful earthy home and the infinity pool with the view is just fabulous. Exceeds the photos. Definitely the highlight of our trip. I could not recommend this place more!

We loved our stay! The house, pool and view are all amazing. We slept very comfortably with the bedroom AC. Towe is super quick to respond. We took the advice of other guests and hired Katalina to cook two dinners. Both meals were absolutely delicious and she is the sweetest. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay here! Definitely echo the other reviews regarding the pool, the host’s responsiveness, and the location. Towe was very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and fun.

The most gorgeous Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures don’t do it justice. The hill does suck if you can get an atv or moped get it. But the place is worth it either way. The open layout and large porch with hammocks makes everything feel airy. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in San Juan.

What an amazing place! beautiful house, view and staff. The manager was very responsive and helpful, and she even cooked us an incredible dinner for a reasonable fee. I would absolutely stay here again!

An absolute must-book home in San Juan Del Sur! the host is amazing and the housekeeper is a gem! If you book, as soon as you can schedule a night to have Katalina cook dinner for you. I guarantee it will be the best meal you will have on your entire trip! We will be back!

Your own little piece of paradise in the jungle with walking distance of less than 10 min to town. This house was absolutely perfect for our group. Spacious, beautiful views from the house and pool (and views of monkeys in the trees while swimming!), and everything we could need for a tropical getaway. Towe was a 15/10 host, going above and beyond, helping us out with local recommendations (shuttle, activities, etc) and assisting us when our friends luggage was lost. We opted to have Katalina cook for us one night and it was one of the best dinners we had while there. Highly recommend her if you choose this place! She also cleaned the place halfway through our stay- so appreciated. Just a note, and it’s already stated in the listing, but the house is located up a hill so be sure to rent a vehicle or ATV if you aren’t able to walk up inclines and plan to go back and forth to town but it worked just fine for us!

Really the house was Wow, it was clean, the view was beautiful. Close to the beach, close to downtown San Juan. With the vegetation, we almost felt like we were in the jungle. The only only only B mole is to get there, there is a huge very steep slope. We rented mountain bikes so it was fine! In short, I recommend it 100%.

This place was amazing, one of the best Airbnbs we’ve stayed at. The setting is beautiful and the house is even better than the pics. We loved sitting on the veranda and hanging in the pool. We can’t wait to stay here again!

This was our family's second stay at Casa Colina. We love the place as it has great views, it's easy to access the San Juan Del Sur stores and restaurants, Katalina the local host is super helpful and makes everything so easy. Katalina can come and make really great dinners while we enjoy the pool and sunset views!

Beautiful home, beautiful location and views! Towe is a great host and Katalina was friendly and helpful at check in. Safe location, as is much of Nica! 4x4 car is recommended for getting around the country and to beaches. Guidebook provided by Towe was spot on and did not disappoint. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return to Towe’s home!!

Beautiful house, gorgeous view. We loved being within walking distance of the city yet just a little away so it was quiet and peaceful. Our host was super nice and helpful. Pool was beautiful and has amazing views. San Juan del sur is a peaceful cove beach with no waves, perfect for kids. 15 minute drive away was a beach with beginner surf waves and surf lessons.

One of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed in — no question. Perfectly located above San Juan del Sur, it felt like living in the treetops with monkeys, birds, and wildlife all around, plus a gorgeous pool to relax in. The house is full of charm, spotless, super comfortable, and just a few minutes’ walk into town (short hill!). Town itself is amazing — chilled, friendly, and full of great food. Favorites: Dale Pues for breakfast and Sabores de mi Patio for grilled meats and plantain baskets. Everything’s walkable, but you still feel tucked away and peaceful. Catalina, the housekeeper, and the groundskeeper were both fantastic — warm, professional, and made us feel truly cared for without ever being intrusive. Towe, the host, was top-notch with super quick replies. We fished (and barbecued the catch), rented ATVs to find remote beaches, and visited the Adventure Park — real sloths, monkeys, birds, and incredible volcano and Pacific views. No tourist traps — just proper nature.

The accommodation is warm, spacious and the kitchen is complete. We even used the little cooler to bring a lunch and beer to the beach!! The intimate pool area with views of San Juan is really nice, we saw and heard several howler monkeys and lots of birds. A big plus is the 2nd bedroom with bathroom, this allowed us to maintain privacy with our son and his partner. Katalina cooked us a delicious Surf & Turf dinner, she is really very nice. Thanks again for the flexibility of check-in time, we were a little early and it wasn't a problem at all. We highly recommend this little piece of heaven!!! Martin

Magical home! We called it our villa. The craftsmanship was beautiful and tucked up on a private hillside. Well stocked with everything you need to cook. We spent the majority of our time on the balcony enjoying the view. You feel on top of the city at the pool. It’s deep enough to swim and great to cool off. Location is perfect as you can walk to town in 10-15 min, but secluded and quiet. Katalina was wonderful and very helpful. We had her over twice to cook and clean. Her food is delicious! I worked remotely taking zoom calls and internet was great. We will be back!

Casa Colina was a perfect home base for our group of friends during our time in San Juan del Sur. The house had a great view and was easy to reach via motorbike. The house itself was very comfortable and well equipped. Towe was very helpful with local recommendations and Katalina (housekeeper) was very friendly and showed us around when we arrived.

This place is the perfect distance from town, giving us privacy and quiet evenings, yet in a few minutes we are in town. The pool is beautiful, Toew is super responsive, giving us numerous suggestions, and very fast to follow up. I highly recommend this place.

Towe's place was absolutely stunning! It was beautiful inside and out! It was private and tucked away into the hillside. Every detail was accounted for. About the hosts: I've never met genuinely kinder people in my life. I was sick most of my stay there and they were so accommodating! They would check in on me and ask how I was doing from time to time, they even asked their Dr. to do a house call for me. I am blown away with their hospitality and just the goodness of them! I just can't say enough about how fast they are! Come visit! You won't want to leave!!!

Really nice place to stay. The view is the best in San Juan del Sur

This place is fantastic- away from town, so free from activity. Spacious and clean and the balcony was super comfortable. There were enough cooking implements for us to make a stew and grill some meats. The pool played a large role in helping us to stay cool during a warm few days.

We absolutely loved our time at Casa Colina. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. It immediately felt like home. We rented an ATV and it was incredibly helpful getting up and down the hill to get into town. The home was safe and in a beautiful spot. Towe was responsive and helped us get a taxi the day we checked out. The beds, towels, pillows were all comfy and the pool was an incredibly nice touch enjoyed by all. I highly recommend this stay!

Towe was very helpful and responsive. The house is even more beautiful in person. The feeling of living in the jungle but super close to town. The only thing I didn’t like was the steep hill leading up to the house. That made it difficult to walk to and from town even though town was so close. Obviously, Towe can’t do anything about the hill but just a warning for anyone who doesn’t walk much. You’ll have to get a cab (which is super cheap by the way),’z. Towe was very helpful with his recommendations and made our stay a great experience!!

We had a fantastic stay, such a lovely house and stunning views. Lovely terrace to relax on and pool to use. Katalina was the stand out of our stay, so helpful and an amazing cook. We had our 10 month old with us and she was so so kind with him. Great place.

We loved the location. The casa tranquilla 1 is glued to the sea making the experience exceptional and the beach is superb. Émilio is very pleasant and helpful. He brought us fishing. I highly recommend this location.

Fantastic place to relax and unwind. We had a warm welcome from Katalina. The house is clean and equipped with all the comforts. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. It's just a little uphill, but it's definitely worth it. The view is beautiful. Otherwise, you can always take a taxi upstairs. Not every taxi driver knows how to put the house right away when you mention the name, but Towe will give you clear directions. The pool is wonderful and also has a beautiful view. Katalina cooked an evening for us. She is a fantastic cook. We had a wonderful time and hope to return here.

I highly recommend Towe’s place! It is walkable and close to everything. The place truly felt like home and had everything I could possibly need. If you stay here I recommend getting Katalinas phone number (the housekeeper and chef) - she is truly amazing and very responsive for anything I needed. Sometimes I messaged through the Airbnb app and did not get a response even though I could see the message was read. Overall, I still recommend the place. It was truly a beautiful place to be.

Our family had a great stay at Casa Corlinas. Our favorite part of the house was the porch with the views of the beach and town. The house was as we expected and as described. The house was well prepared before we arrived and Katalina greeted us for the checkin and to show us the ropes. Katalina was also super helpful with things like stocking the fridge, laundry, bringing more water and really anything else. We had 2 meals prepared by Katalina which we highly recommend. She's an amazing cook and it's a really nice experience to smell the food and cooking as she preps the meals while we swim at the pool or hangout at the porch after a long day. For us, we rented ATVs to explore all of the surrounding beaches and also the ATVs were great to get up and down the hill. The hill is not too bad but after several days it can start to wear on the legs plus we could easily go up and down the hill a few times per day for example to get some ice cream (Gelato) after dinner.

1000% recommended!!! The house is very beautiful, outside of the typical apartment environment, you can really feel that you are on the beach. The pool, the hammocks, the very comfortable rooms and everything very clean. Since we arrived Katalina received us very kindly, she is very kind and helpful. If there is something that I must admit without a doubt, it is that I have never felt as safe as at Casa Colina, it is very private and the security of the house is unmatched, I could not set the alarm and without knowing it it was activated, immediately the security people They knocked on the door to make sure everything was ok, that really made us feel very safe where we were, for me one of the most important things when staying in a place. Towe was very communicative all the time, since we made the reservation for Casa Colina. You will not regret choosing this house as your next home to enjoy some beautiful days on the beach in San Juan del Sur.

A truly amazing place to stay. The house is very clean and spacious, the views are spectacular, and the pool is awesome. Towe is very responsive and helpful and Katalina is as well. As mentioned by other guests, there is a steep hill to get to house, and the heat and the humidity can make it a little challenging depending on how often and what time of the day you make the journey, but it is very accessible to town. This Airbnb was one of the highlights of our trip.

This house was absolutely amazing. Firstly, both Towe and his house keeper Katalina were so helpful and responsive, providing recommendations and help as needed. The house was even more beautiful than the photos. It got a nice cool breeze, had an amazing view, and was impeccably comfortable. We never wanted to leave. Thank you Towe and Katalina for a wonderful trip! Also, as mentioned in other reviews, highly recommend Katalina's cooking - we had a spectacular dinner in the house which was very memorable!

Towe’s home was a great experience. The home is located in a beautiful area and has some amazing views. The house was extremely clean, comfortable and had all the amenities one would need. Katarina the housekeeper was a gem, extremely nice and assisted me in checking in a bit earlier and also leaving a bit later. Walking distance to town, but far enough from the noisy clubs to allow one to be at peace with the natural beauty the home and it’s gardens provide. Would love to stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Colina very much. It was a perfect setting. Felt like you were in a tree home. Birds all around. Pool was terrific very cool and refreshing. Katalina and Victor were always available and helped us feel very comfortable. Katalina cooked a wonderful meal for 2 one evening. It was so nice . We would recommend highly. Just be prepared for a steep walk up to your beautiful view. It’s worth it !!

The house was great for our group - we really enjoyed the views, hammocks on the porch and the pool. We also had Katalina cook us lunch one day and, like others have said, it was amazing! Towe was a great communicator and was quick to answer any questions we had and gave great advice about the area. If we ever find ourselves in SJDS again, we'd be happy to return to the house.

This stay was absolutely perfect! The house is spacious and beautiful and has everything you need. Towe was so great about communicating from the minute we booked until he wished us well on our departure. Katalina doubles as both a housekeeper and a chef and if you stay here you MUST have her cook a meal or two for you, she is amazing! One thing to note is that while it is walking distance to the town and waterfront, it is atop a pretty steep hill but absolutely 100% worth it for the views that it allows.

Our stay could not have been better! We were initially supposed to stay at a resort in a more remote area, but our reservation was cancelled last minute. We stumbled upon Towe's stunning property and were lucky enough that the dates aligning with our previously booked flights were available. Town was extremely quick to respond with any questions I had about the house, surrounding area, airport transport, etc. The house is a quick 5 minute walk into town and maybe another 5 minutes to the beautiful public beach lined with wonderful bars and restaurants. The walk back up the hill is pretty steep, but cabs were super cheap and easily accessible for any rides back to the house. The house was perfectly located for both daytime walks to the beach and going out at night. Katalina was a true highlight of our trip - she cooked us our favorite meal of the whole trip and was able to help us with any questions we had during our stay. Definitely planning to go back for a longer trip in the future!

Towe is a great host he has a beautiful house very well-maintained and design nice place to come and relax it has a very steep hill walk but it’s perfectly distance away from the town we had a very nice stay

My family and I truly enjoyed Casa Colina. The location is great, and the views of the bay from the balcony and pool are fantastic. The house sits on a steep hill and walkways to the front of the house and the pool can be challenging for guests who may have mobility difficulties. Otherwise, I highly recommend this home.

Casa Colina was an amazing place to stay. The apartment is beautifully designed and the views are stunning. We loved the infinity pool, hammocks, well equipped kitchen and super comfy bed. We stayed 4 days but wish we could have stayed longer! It is a bit of a steep climb up the hill to the place but we rented a motorcycle so didn’t have any problems and it’s totally worth it for the best views of San Juan. We loved our stay and would 100% book again for our next trip!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was spacious, clean, and very welcoming. Towe is fabulous with communication and responding to emails. The house is up a hill, with beautiful views the walk into town took no more than 6-8 minutes. The walk home was a little tougher for my husband and I, as the hill at the end was fairly steep, (we are 46 & 53, but we are fairly fit). Our kids laughed at as we rested 3 times~ but a cab home was 5.00 and worth it, and 2 different drivers gave their name and # so we could call them directly to pick us up anywhere. Upon our arrival, Katalina greeted us and had dinner waiting on the table. We did ask to set this up before hand as we weren't getting there till 7pm and would have a long day of travel. She was also very helpful in grabbing us some groceries to have in the house for a few days till we got to the market, she hit all the right things from fruit to coffee, some snacks and breakfast; she doesn't cook in small amounts which was fabulous because it gave us extra to add to eggs for breakfast the next morning. Towe had a bottle of wine waiting for us too. My picky eater kids loved Katalinas cooking, and we had her cook for us another night, and also joined our new friends (and neighbors) one evening with Katalina for a big family dinner outside on that amazing table. When we were home, we spent our time either in the pool or relaxing on the balcony. We brought some card games with us and found there were a few more games on the shelf there too, so when we left, we added out 2 card games to the collection for the house. In town there are so many places to eat. Here were a few of our favorites~ Vivans for lobster dinner or Maggies Steakhouse, melt in your mouth filet mignon, Dale Pues and Simon Says for Breakfasts or lunches (went to both more than once), Social, for dinner sushi and chicken stir fry were amazing. French Bakery had a nice variety of breads, but he bakes in the morning, once it gone its gone. And you have to go to the main market for fresh fruits, vegis and cheese. The fruits and vegis are huge, and smell and taste so amazing. We will definitely be back, we will definitely be booking this place with Towe, it was perfect!

Best place I’ve ever stayed at and I Airbnb a lot. Perfect location. Great view. Great pool. Towe is a great host. This place is a few minutes above town so it’s a perfect close walk in (down hill) and a quick cab ride back (but we did walk it too). Loved every minute.

This is great place to stay in SJDS. The home is great and the housekeeper is an excellent cook. I highly recommend you take advantage of her talents. It is a short walk to town. Of course the house has a great view so that means it is down hill to town and up hill heading back. The pool is great and the outdoor dining area makes for a memorable meal.

Wish we could have stayed longer. A beautiful house on a hill overlooking the picturesque town and ocean. Katalina the cook/cleaner cooked several delicious meals for us. The home's location allows for walking into town. You will not be disappointed if you book here.

Great spot for those who want to overlook the city and beach, have a great view, ample space away from others and in the home, peace and quiet but not too quiet. In all my experience staying at Towes place for a few days was lovely. Everything needed was there. Aircon bedroom luxury, Katarina at check in and out was helpful, super clean, a lot of space inside - didn’t get to use pool. What I did notice: inside areas kinda dark with how the building is positioned but then could be refreshing for shade too, there are lighter / Sunnier parts on property. Electricity went out every other day for a few hours but that’s to be expected. Didn’t really effect me as it occurs at night mainly.

The home was exactly what I needed for a quick vacation. Towe and Katalina both went above and beyond to make sure every question was answered and offered quite a few suggestions for other things. The house is very relaxing. I spent the majority of my time in the hammock on the porch. Pool was nice. Got to see a few monkeys while in the pool. Only had the power go out maybe twice while there. Make sure to get at least one meal prepared by Katalina. The walk down into town was a little too much for me, but a taxi was easy to get and only $5 usd.

I’m not one to leave reviews on anything, but I just had to after spending two weeks at Casa Colina. Everything about this stay was AMAZING. Katalina and Towe are wonderfully accommodating and attentive. We had Katalina cook for us multiple times a week, and could not get enough of her food. It is the best in SJDS! No reason to go anywhere else! Also, she went above and beyond to help us with any need. We got a flat tire at the beach, and she even helped us to arrange a pick up/tow when we were stranded. They really helped to make this home feel like a true home away from home. As for the house itself, it is completely what we expected based on the listing. There was plenty of room for two of us, while still having a Nicaraguan charm to it. It is peaceful and had everything we needed! As mentioned in other reviews, it is important to note the steep hill it is on. We found it much more enjoyable to go out on motorbike rather than walking- but it is also only a short steep part and then a quick walk to town. It’s worth it for the views and the jungle feel! Thank you for everything Towe and Katalina!!! Can’t wait to return!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Casa Colina for 5 weeks. The space was fantastic! Great view, pool, bedrooms. Towe was an excellent communicator and Katalina was a fabulous cook. Paradise Bay is secure area and a 10-minute walk to town. Both of us work remote and Internet connection was OK (this is for all of Nica) - enough to get by. Lots of places in and around town to work from (treecasa, the space etc). Highly recommend, would love to come back!

Very good place to stay. Great view of the bay from the house. Very close to shops but at the same time far enough to enjoy nature. Highly recommended !

It was our second visit to Casa Colina, and this time was even better than our last! First of all, the house was spotless and Katalina (the housekeeper) greeted us with a mask, and was super cautious and respectful of our space. The view was incredible, and laying in the hammocks on the front porch and out by the pool was exactly what we needed. It was SO green, we felt like we were in a tropical treehouse perched above the bay of San Juan. We got to use the outdoor dining area for a bbq, and ended up spending most of the evening out there admiring the stars. This is the perfect spot for some much need R&R, we look forward to coming back again and again.

This is an amazing place. Very clean, easy to communicate with, and beautiful. Katalina is amazing and helpful. There is nothing negative to say about this place! Do be aware one of the bedrooms is a loft, so maybe not ideal for young kids. The pool is beautiful with an amazing view, the house is very slick, and close to town!

Can only echo all the great things that have been said previously. The location is great and the view from the balcony and pool are terrific. The house itself is very clean, open and the beds are very comfortable. Towe was a great host and went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay. Very happy and thankful to be have been able to stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to San Juan Del Sur.

Amazing. Amazing view!

Super great house! It is comfy, big enough to accommodate a few people and have every appliance you could need. The pool is super nice too and get clean every morning by Victor. Be prepared for the steep hill when you arrive, it is a bit challenging when you don’t know where you are going and don’t have a 4X4 but after the second time you get use to it.... parking is a bit tricky since there’s not a lot of place and it is in an angle but you also get use to it ;) I recommend arriving by day light! We had Catalina cook for us and we did not regret it, she is super nice and we had enough food for the next 2 days! If you have any issues or questions, don’t hesitate to ask the owner or Catalina... you will get answer very fast. Let’s hope I can come back sometimes.

Casa Colina was paradise. Everything was right about it. We stayed 6 nights but could have stayed much longer. It's spacious, stylish, relaxing. Close to town. Catalina 's cooking was the best!

We had absolutely no complaints !! Our trip was wonderful and easy thanks to Towe and Catalina ! The house is very short walk to downtown San Juan Del Sur which is a super fun place to be, but we also enjoyed the privacy and security of the house as well as it’s gorgeous views atop the hill. We spent hours in the pool taking in the nature around us and looking for monkeys. Here’s a foodie tip, if you’re looking for the best meal in town you don’t even have to leave the house, Catalina is an amazing cook and fed us on more than one occasion. She is the most welcoming and kind human being ever, she was more than happy to help us with all of our needs. All of the locals we encountered in SJDS were extremely friendly. The perfect place for a good time. We highly recommend and look forward to coming back :-)

Best place to go in San Juan del Sur

Fantastic place. Lots of character. Great views. Walkable to town. Super clean. Comfortable. Beautiful pool and grounds. Easy communication. Will be back for sure.
