This property was perfect for my family's first visit to Costa Rica and Ana was a great host. We booked her house at the last minute because the first house we booked (not through AirBnB) turned out to not be as advertised. Not only was her house everything she promised, but she was able to accommodate an early check in on short notice and everything went very smoothly. The pool in the private courtyard was perfect for our family to relax, and it only being accessible through the primary bedroom was ideal given our young kids. We also loved the location - easy access to anywhere in La Fortuna in just a 5-10 minute drive, but on a nice quiet residential street. We strongly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in La Fortuna!

What we loved: - Location is gorgeous and accessible to the La Fortuna city, provided you have a vehicle. Pretty big hotbed for wildlife as well, tons of birds that you can hear chirping through the morning + good chance of spotting sloths along the road (I believe the paid tours regularly stop by on that street). - Property was really nice, small backyard with a pool and all the amenities you'd expect with a kitchen + basic appliances. - Awesome breakfast place down the street, omelettes + smoothies won't dissapoint! What we didn't like: - Found a bunch of ants near the front entrance on arrival, took around 30 minutes for 4 of us to clear them out fully. - Host was mostly responsive but the door had a locking issue which we didn't get resolved during the stay, even though we asked someone to come by. It is generally a safe area but still had concerns. - Bothered us to a lesser extent but some dogs in the area are quite noisy and would pop into the frontyard from time to time.

Enjoyed our short stay at Ana Lucia's listing in La Fortuna. Great landing pad location if you're planning on checking out the various excursions and sites. Quiet, safe, a great local restaurant for your first night if you've had a long journey just 3 minutes down the road. Beds were comfortable, excellent water pressure in the showers, cute little plunge pool perfect for younger kids (10, 5, 3) with floaties. Was nervous about getting lost as we were driving ourselves, but the pinned location of the "little yellow house" on the short street this listing is located at is easy to find even on Google maps (verify via dm!). Host makes checking in and out easy. Would recommend stopping at a grocery store to pick up coffee filters, ground beans and milk before settling in if you're like us and need your first cup as soon as you wake up. Otherwise, had all the basic amenities one would hope for from a quality Airbnb - good linens, towels, toiletries, dish soap. We appreciated the ice maker.
