We absolutely loved Casa Estrella! It had everything we needed and everything was just lovely! Place was spotless, staff friendly and responsive and the grounds were just gorgeous! One block from our friends place and we walked most places but did use uber and taxis a few times which were quite convenient! We will definitely be back to Duncan’s lovely home!

My son’s family and I stayed here for a week. The pictures are great but the house is even prettier in reality. We loved everything about it. Graciela’s welcome guacamole was delicious and she was so very nice. My daughter-in-law is fluent in Spanish and enjoyed talking with Graciela. We all hope to return to SMA and this lovely home.

What a gem of a villa! We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend. A beautiful layout with great host. What more could you want?

The photos don’t capture how beautiful this home really is—it’s absolutely stunning in person. We only spent two days in San Miguel, but we would have happily extended our stay just to enjoy more time at the house.

The Casa de Estrellas is beautiful. It's on a very quiet street, but at the same time very close to downtown. Like everything in San Miguel, there are ups and downs, but the truth is it's worth it for a house as nice and well laid out as Duncan's. It has a nice dining room next to the super-equipped kitchen and a beautiful outdoor dining room in the central courtyard. We loved sitting down to chat in the morning with a good cup. In the afternoon, the view from the rooftop is wonderful, it also has a barbecue in that area that we did not miss. Graciela, who is in charge of the house and its cleaning, is a nice, friendly and super helpful person, she welcomed us with delicious guacamole. Thank you Duncan for letting us enjoy your beautiful home.

This is a place to relax and feel at home very cozy big and beautiful , the rooftop offers an amazing ,San Miguel De Allende city views. Berta was very responsive and ,Graciela keeps the place spotless , me and my family ware so happy during the time we spend on this beautiful house

Beautiful place in the heart of San Miguel. Graciella was lovely and cooked us a beautiful breakfast on our last day there. The rooftop views with a hot tub were amazing, don't miss out on the sun setting over the city.

Beautiful, spacious, comfortable house in Zona Centro, with comfortable bedrooms, full kitchen and maid service. (The maid not only kept our place clean and comfortable, she prepared a delicious bowl of guacamole for us on our first day.) The location is about a 10-minute walk from the main square, though there are some decent coffee shops and restaurants closer to home. One thing to be aware of is that, as with many old homes in Mexico, toilet paper cannot be flushed down the toilet but instead must be placed in the trash. (It was especially helpful to have a maid emptying the trash each day!) Fortunately I had packed my travel bidet (from humangear, available from Amazon for $18), which helped a lot (and no, I was not paid to promote this product!).

A truly beautiful and comfortable house, up the hill a bit but worth every step. Excellent communication and support during our stay. A quiet lovely street. Magnificent view into town and the valley beyond. From the house, it’s a very short walk to the cultural center then down into the Parque Juarez. Sublime.

I cannot say enough about this property! It is gorgeous and everything about it -- from checking in to having a full-time housekeeper to the beauty of the plants and architecture -- was wonderful. It is such a beautiful spot, with an amazing view of San Miguel. There is a steep walk to get to it from town, but that's the price you pay for the incredible vistas from the hot tub. Graciela, the housekeeper, made us a phenomenal dinner one night and it was a highlight of our trip. We were a group of three couples and we each had privacy and lots of space to spread out, with all of the different sitting areas. We loved our week at Duncan's abode in San Miguel!

This property exceeded our expectations! Great location, gorgeous home. The gardens within the property are so beautiful. We picked the right time of year, spring, to enjoy all the beautiful flowers. Super comfortable and clean. Don't be surprised if we book again in the future!

Like staying in a small, beautiful luxury hotel! Loved how the bedrooms surrounded a beautiful outdoor courtyard, and we could dine indoors, outdoors in the courtyard, or on the magnificent rooftop, with the most amazing view- as good as that of the best rooftop bar in town! Each room was very well furnished, and very comfortable, with its own bathroom. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast of Huevos a la Mexicana, yogurt with fresh fruits, beans and tortillas each morning prepared by Graciela, who was both made a great breakfast and made our stay so comfortable. Great stay in all regards! You have a wonderful place Duncan, and a very helpful team!

This is one of the (if not the) most stunning properties I’ve reserved! It’s absolutely gorgeous, brilliantly appointed, grand, elegant, while also very cozy. You’ll feel as if you’re part of an awesome museum — not just a fascinated guest. In addition to being nourished by the charm and grace of this magnificent home, you’ll be within easy walking distance of some of the best restaurants I’ve ever enjoyed — anywhere in the world. Outstanding place. Beautiful, peaceful and well located. Graciela was a gem. She makes great meals. Breakfast and dinners were better than going out!! We can’t say enough good things about this place.

Casa Estrella was perfect! We enjoyed all the beautiful spaces the home provided! The views from the rooftop patio were spectacular! We will definitely be back.

The managers of the house and the owner were extremely helpful and so responsive. I loved everything and the rooms were nice. The walk up the steep street was a bit much for me since I have asthma but regardless the view we had from the jacuzzi on the last floor made it all better!!!

The home was beautiful and it had spectacular views. We highly recommend you hire Graciela. We enjoyed our daily homemade breakfast and our cafe de olla. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful stay. 💕

Beautiful accommodations and views!

A great place to stay in San Miguel with amazing views. We stayed here over the Christmas period and it was amazing.

We’ve spent months at a time in SMA and Duncan’s place is on our short list of favorites. Great views and plenty of space for a large group to spread out. Has the authentic SMA look and feel that just adds to the experience. Felt very safe with his automatic door lock. Easy walk to town, going up hill might be hard for some but it’s typical in SMA. Duncan is very communicative and just a very good person. Totally recommend!

This is an amazing villa and would highly recommend for a friends or family trip.

This house is spectacular and has every amenity needed for a vacation. We enjoyed every level of the house and rooms. Our Host communicated quickly and gave us a lot of information about San Miguel. Graciela, the housekeeper was so accommodating, sweet and made us a lovely dinner our last night. Great place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was spotless and the communication was incredible. The is a very beautiful house and the rooftop was so nice and cozy. The beds were incredible confortable with confortable duvets (im very picky with having clean sheets and they were super clean and confortable). I would only recommend to bring a white noise machine because as in any house in san miguel there might be noise outside on the streets. We brought ours so we had a nice sleep, my brother didn’t bring his and he could hear the noise from the street during the evening.

Duncan's home exceeded our expectations. communication with Duncan as well as his house manager was excellent, the home was absolutely amazing and had everything we needed. when I first inquired about the residence the description did not mention child friendly amenities but Duncan stated that he had recently acquired the property and, although the previous owner hadn't catered to families with young children, if we booked he would insure we had what we needed, and he did not disappoint. we had all we needed for a full week with 6 adults and 2 toddlers. the space was amazing, Graciela cooked fabulous meals and went above and beyond. highly recommend and world gladly stay again upon return

My family and I had the best time staying here! It was a dream. From the location to the decore, every detail was perfect. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I’ve already sent this listing to friends as a solid recommendation. We stayed there Holy Week and I thought it would be overwhelming. This space provided a quiet, private place to recharge, yet it was still close enough to walk down to the center when you were ready for adventure. Thank you again Duncan for providing such a magical space. We hope to be back one day!

A true taste of San Miguel de Allende! Duncan’s Casita is a fantastic place to stay while visiting. Beautiful open spaces, a roof top outdoor living areas with views that can’t be beat! Graciela, the house keeper was a joy to meet, very friendly and makes the best breakfast. Communication was handled extremely well. I would highly recommend staying at Casita de Estrella’s to make your visit to this magical town complete!!
