The house is stunning, designed for having a great time with friends or family. It's very tidy and very clean. All our friends were very happy and enjoyed the house a lot.

This was an amazing place, I would say I do not think I will every stay anywhere that will ever compare. The architectural design that went into the house and pool was perfect, to be able to build something without disturbing or altering the landscape around it is incredible. Our housekeeper Alexandria was amazing. She was very helpful through every question. I loved this place and would definitely come back. Only thing I wish the kitchen area was airconditioned. It was ok but at times if there was not a breeze it was a little hot. All in all, though 10 out 10 and would definitely book again.

France was amazing and very friendly! Our flight was delayed couldn’t make it and she was able to accommodate the dates for us!! The house is spotless and beautiful and the chef was amazing and made us delicious food!! We will totally go back!! Highly recommended is worth every penny!! We came here with a group of 10 for my husbands 40th birthday. The house was absolutely amazing. The entire staff was so helpful and responsive and there to help with anything we needed. Chef Erik cooked us up a wonderful dinner. The views from the house are breathtaking and none of us wanted to leave to go back home. We will definitely be back! We have found our new home away from home for when we come back to visit Costa Rica. Highly recommend this beautiful home!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful home, and once again, it did not disappoint! Costa Rica is truly our happy place, and we’re so glad we finally found an Airbnb that feels like our home away from home and somewhere we can return to every time we visit. Not even sure words can do it justice - stayed for a week with a family of five. The pool was pristine, the ocean access was to a rocky shoreline which was beautiful for views and wildlife exploring (but not swimming), there were howler monkeys literally in the yard which was amazing to see. The amenities really felt like we were at home rather than a rental. Alexandra and Sonja were super helpful, food was great! We used the chef service for dinner three times and Erich was amazing and created joyful and memory making evenings for my family. We look forward to returning with family and friends (as we spread out but still used half is the house!)

Our stay at La Perla Negra de Carrillo was truly wonderful. We spent our vacation there with our family and some close friends, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to relax, enjoy Costa Rica, and create unforgettable memories together. The house is absolutely beautiful, extremely comfortable, and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. But one of its greatest treasures is undoubtedly its incredible surroundings. Surrounded by nature, peace, and breathtaking views, every moment at the house felt special. We would also like to give special recognition to the wonderful team. Alexandra, who took care of the cleaning, was lovely, attentive, and always made sure everything was absolutely perfect. And a very special mention goes to Eric, the chef, who made our dinners an unforgettable part of the experience. Every evening he delighted with unique and delicious dishes. We would return to La Perla Negra de Carrillo without hesitation. Pura vida!

France's place in Puerto Carrillo was stunning — even more beautiful in person than the photos show. The house was immaculate, the sunsets gorgeous, and it worked perfectly for our multigenerational group of grandparents, parents, and kids. We could've spent the whole day in the pool alone! We also loved walking down to the rocky beach and sunset viewing point, and spotting howler monkeys from the kitchen window (and even while swimming). My kids are already asking to go back. France was also incredibly responsive, always quick to answer questions and make sure we had everything we needed. Only honest note: common areas downstairs can get warm, but that's accurately noted in the listing, and the upstairs AC plus a quick pool dip fixed it every time. We also booked a turtle tour and witnessed an arribada — a once-in-a-lifetime experience — and did the ocean seafari, spotting tons of dolphins. Such a blast. Highly recommend — we'd stay again in a heartbeat! Pura Vida!

Our stay at the home in Puerto Carrillo was absolutely unforgettable. The treehouse property itself is stunning, peaceful, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by the natural beauty that makes this part of Costa Rica so special. It was the perfect place to relax, gather, and enjoy time together after full days exploring. The staff made our stay even more meaningful. Everyone was incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful, and we felt so well cared for throughout the entire visit. Chef Eric’s food was amazing! Every meal was fresh, thoughtful, and delicious. Sofia and Alexandra prepared a beautiful, fresh breakfast for us every morning, which quickly became one of our favorite parts of the day. One of the most special parts of the trip was the sense of community. Carrillo and Sámara, Puerto Carrillo has a warmth that is hard to describe. The town feels small, personal, and welcoming. The kind of place where everyone seems to know everyone, and you feel genuinely loved and cared for.

We spent ten wonderful days at this beautiful Villa. The house met all expectations, was well maintained and super clean. The location is great with the ocean at the doorstep and the small town of Puerto Carrillo close by with groceries and restaurants. Sonia and the rest of the staff looked after us and spoiled us with amazing breakfasts. We had two dinners cooked by Sonia which were delicious. The attention from the tour company you recommended was perfect. Thank you for a great vacation.

I highly recommend you stay at this house. The beautiful photos of the place are exactly what to expect and more. It’s offers so much value that any hotel can’t compete if you have a group. Everything is top notch from the daily breakfast, personal chef dinners (so worth it), pool table, bbq, Sonos sound system, the infinity pool, the views, etc. The staff is friendly and discreet. It’s truly a unique experience that will leave you wanting to come back again and again. We even had monkeys in the trees outside our room on our final day! If you know going in that it’s a long drive to the house from LIR and the town of Puerto Carrillo is small and quiet, but has access to a few restaurants and small markets, then everything will exceed expectations. I recommend renting a car to go out and about to places like town and Sámara. The only negative I can give is that there is not a common room to congregate in that is air conditioned - only bedrooms.

This house and location made for a perfect relaxing getaway. The staff was outstanding and helpful with all our requests. The house is amazing! We did experience a few power outages but the house has backup power and it did not take away from the great experience. Great view of the Pacific as well as birds, monkeys, and butterflies. We did not rent a vehicle but the staff helped us make transportation arrangements for the short drive to the beach. We had a pleasant walk to town for lunch one day. We highly recommend this location for a Pacific side Costa Rica trip.

We arrived during a horrible storm. The host kept us informed and safe the entire time the weather was bad and we lost electricity. The home had games and was stocked with lanterns so we were good through the night. They have solar generator so we were only without power for a little bit through the night. I honestly can’t say enough about the home and how beautiful and amazing Sonia (housekeeper/chef) was during our stay. Breakfast was made every morning. And for a party of 10 it was prompt and on-time everyday. The host (France) gave us a list of things we can do and book while in Costa Rica. The home was clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The hospitality and attention to detail for guests and what they may need was carefully thought out and provided. You can see the love put into this home. We will definitely be back!

Our stay was absolutely incredible. The villa is even more beautiful in person, with breathtaking views, plenty of space for our group, and the perfect setting for an unforgettable trip. What truly made the experience special was the team. Alexandra and the concierge staff were outstanding...always responsive, organized, and helpful. They seamlessly coordinated everything from breakfast, cleanings, transportation and groceries to in-villa massages and bartending services, making the entire trip stress-free. Chef Erick was a highlight of the week. Every meal was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and something our group looked forward to each day. We did experience weather-related power and internet disruptions during our first night due to storms affecting the area. While frustrating at the time, the team communicated throughout and did everything they could to assist us. Despite that rough start, it's hard not to give this place 5 stars for the things that were within their control

Everything about this property was incredible! Our group loved the infinity pool, ocean views, sunsets, playing cards on the large outdoor table, and watching monkeys play in the trees. On top of that, we had excellent communication with Anggie leading up to our stay, several delicious meals prepared by Chef Erik, and a lovely housekeeping staff that brought us fresh breakfast every morning. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a 5-star experience for their stay in Costa Rica. It was the highlight of our trip!

We recently stayed at France’s home for my wife’s 40th birthday, and it was absolutely perfect for our group of 10 friends. The house was beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean, with plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable. The outdoor area was one of our favorite parts of the stay. It was perfect for a large group, and the pool was big enough for everyone to enjoy without ever feeling crowded. Chef Erik was incredible. Every dish he made was a 10/10, and it really made the trip feel special. The caretakers were also wonderful. They cleaned our rooms, prepared breakfast each morning, and were so kind and helpful throughout our stay. Our group truly can’t say enough great things about the house, the staff, and the overall experience. It was an amazing trip, and we would absolutely recommend staying here.

Our stay was 5 stars. The staff were kind, helpful, and very discreet. Chef Eric was phenomenal! They were quick to respond with any questions or concerns, House was amazing! Waking up to breakfast every morning was awesome-food was delicious! Wonderful outdoor space, cold Air conditioned bedrooms and we loved the screened showers. We loved the pool and the pool table-it was our favorite place to hang! House was equipped with everything we could need. We highly recommend this place!

Perla Negra is simply stunning. From the moment we arrived, the architecture stopped us in our tracks — bold, thoughtful design that feels both dramatic and intimate at the same time. It’s the kind of place you keep discovering new angles to appreciate. The setting is unlike anything we’ve experienced: raw volcanic rock, lush gardens, and sweeping ocean views that shift with the light throughout the day. Truly unique — not the polished resort version of “ocean view,” but something genuinely wild and beautiful. Inside, the villa is wonderfully spacious, and the Sonos system was a brilliant touch — having great music flowing through the space elevated the whole atmosphere and made it feel like our own private retreat rather than just a rental. Breakfast was a highlight we didn’t expect to love as much as we did. Having it served right at the villa was incredibly convenient, and the quality was outstanding — a perfect start to every morning. The evening we had Eric to cook for us, amazing

Amazing place!!! I’ve stayed in some nice places and this one topped them all. Location, views, etc. Sonia, the live in chef/house keeper was amazing. Everything matched the description and then far exceeded my expectations.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. Sonia, the caretaker, is truly amazing. The home is large and has a lovely patio and pool. The walkable beach, while a beautiful view and fun to visit for beachcombing and hermit crab hunting, isn’t for swimming. That said, Carrillo beach is just 5 minutes drive away, and larger Samara beach 15 minutes. We had a great time!

We had an incredible stay in Puerto Carrillo. The home is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning ocean views and a peaceful, private setting that made it hard to leave. Everything was exactly as described (if not better), and the space was perfect for our group. What really made the experience exceptional was the service. The in-house chef prepared some of the best meals we’ve had fresh, local, and memorable every time. The caretaker was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our stay. The location is ideal, close to beautiful Playa Carrillo, which quickly became one of our favorite beaches in Costa Rica. Quiet, clean, and not overcrowded. It felt like a true escape while still being a short drive to great restaurants and activities in Sámara. We made amazing family memories here and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing, elevated Costa Rica experience.

We would give this place more than ten stars if we could! Our large group of nine has been coming to Costa Rica for seven years, and out of all the houses we have stayed at, this one was essentially flawless. From the epic panoramic views of the ocean, whales, dolphin pods and sunset views, to the friendly and efficient staff, we had everything we needed (and more) for a successful and incredible ten day trip. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms get cold when you want them to, the showers are so awesome. Even the shower products made us smell and feel so good. Little details like this made our stay pretty much perfect for all ages. The kitchen is incredible and has everything you could possibly need. The outdoor poolside kitchen area has a complete set of plastic dishware so you never have to worry about breaking anything by the pool. Three dishwashers was a game changer especially for a large group like ours.

Family of 6, we had a lovely time at the house. Setting was gorgeous, serene, and peaceful. Sonia and her staff were wonderful. The house is stunning and very well appointed. The local towns had lots to do: horseback riding, fishing, snorkeling. We would definitely return!

Our family of 9 adults had a fabulous stay at France's ocean front house. It was the best way to start the new year. The house is spacious yet cozy. The setting overlooking the pacific ocean is gorgeous. We spotted whales and dolphins right from our hammocks. It had all the amenities we needed. Sonya, the housekeeper, was very friendly, responsive and helpful. Her cooking was better than any restaurant we went to and we highly recommend her ceviche! We would definitely come back.

This property is incredible. The house is beautiful, the ocean is calming, the forest is wonderful, and the beach is amazing amid a very laid back area. The house blends into nature and offers every convenience you’d want. Chef Erik was great. Our host was very accommodating and we hope to be able to come back sometime in the near future. It’s very much worth a return trip!

This was the most amazing Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. The house and scenery were beyond gorgeous, and the rooms were perfection for our group of 6 couples. the icing on the cake was truly the experience the staff provided. From the caretakers Sonya and Alexandria, to the private Chef Erik and finally the concierge Pierre….you truly are spoiled with a 5 star resort experience. The host is most responsive and made all of our adventures on a daily basis seamless. I especially appreciated the accommodation of groceries to stock the house as the town is about 15-20 minutes away so having all your favorite drinks was important for my group. I can’t say enough amazing things about this place, my best advice is BOOK it! You will have no regrets. Thank you Anggie and France for managing such an incredible house. I am already planning my next trip with family so they too can experience.

We had the most incredible stay at France's home. Everything was as described and exceeded our expectations. Sonia, the housekeeper, is absolutely wonderful and made us delicious breakfasts and dinners, cleaned the kitchen and our rooms so we were able to fully relax. We had an 1.5 year old with us and the house comfortably accommodated 9 guests and our baby with lots of places to lounge, read, and swim. Thank you for the most relaxing, beautiful stay, we would love to come back!

My family and I stayed at this property the week of Thanksgiving, and it exceeded every expectation. The space was absolutely gorgeous—spacious, comfortable rooms, beautiful décor, and breathtaking views from every angle. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was Sonia. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, and kind. Her meals were amazing, she kept everything spotless, and she anticipated anything we might need. She even made us extra homemade salsa for our pool days, which we loved! It was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we’ve ever had. We completely fell in love with the property, the experience, and the people. We’ve visited Costa Rica five times this year, and this was by far our favorite trip and favorite place to stay. We can’t wait to come back!

The rooms are cool and quiet. The common ares are spacious. The views of the grounds and ocean are stunning. The forever pool was a huge hit with the kids. Sonia, the onsite chef/caretaker is a dream. So helpful, and such a good cook! Breakfasts were great, and dinners were so good that we ate in six of seven nights— a great option with a 1- 2- and 3-year-old. Alexandra and other staff are tan amable. We will definitely return.

The villa is tucked back at the end of a long dirt road. It’s very private and has amazing views of the ocean. The house is basically built into the trees. Pool is wonderful, outside living area is where we spent all of our time. As a group of ten we had plenty of space. There is a lovely beach about 5 minutes drive. The house has everything you need, towels, stocked kitchen, espresso machine, etc. rooms have AC but no where else. The chef is amazing for dinners and the breakfast they serve each morning is tasty. We had a wonderful time here for a week! It is about a 2.5 hour drive from the airport, we booked transportation through them and it was very easy. If you plan to do anything outside the house you’ll need a rental car!

Had the most incredible time staying at La Perla Negra. The house is stunning with sweeping views and plenty of space to spread out and explore. All of the staff were so helpful and lovely and really made our time special and ensured we could fully relax and enjoy ourselves. Breakfasts were incredible and our meals with Chef Erik were delicious and really made traveling with a large group easy! Highly highly recommending booking this place if you’re in Puerto Carrillo!

We had a wonderful week in this really incredible home. Everything was just perfect. Loved spending time in the house, lounging by the pool and playing in the water. The house is gorgeous and super spacious. The house has everything you need between kitchen items, board + card games to play and fully stocked bathrooms. And Sonnia is a total legend. Super warm and kind, kept the house so clean and made such delicious meals. All that she does each day helps keep the house running. Feels almost like a hotel but with the benefit of having a huge and wonderful house. The local beaches are beautiful. Lots of water activities to choose from… and the water is amazing! So warm and so pretty. This house provided a great base and backdrop to our first trip to Costa Rica. Thanks for everything!

France nailed what a luxury airbnb is. Her house is simply incredible. Litterally like a 5 stars hotel but just for you! The breakfast every morning was delicious, the daily cleaning made things look pristine all the time. Chef Erick was perfect for our dinners in the evening. You cannot go wrong if you book this for a relaxing escape. Perfection!

Extraordinary in every way. Only stayed a couple days because we moved next door to France’s other exquisite property for the remainder of our stay due to availability. But our time there was perfect and everyone was so kind and helpful.

Our family loved the private rooms, beautiful pool and outstanding support from Chef Eric, Alexandria and Sofia. Friendly, competent and respectful cleaning together with fantastic meals both off the menu and with our own fresh caught fish!

Everything about this property was amazing. It is exactly as described and captured in the pictures. The house is expansive and has the ability to be opened up completely but also has split units in the bedrooms if that is preferred. The house is expansive, well maintained and has great amenities. Sonia who is the caretaker is amazing and the morning breakfast are incredible. She provides a nice range of options and it always served promptly when discussed with her the day prior. The owners are incredibly responsive and proactive in communication and giving you a local contact who can help with excursions is a great touch. Our group was thrilled with this property and easily became our best of many Airbnb experiences. Would give the house, the host, and Sonia very strong endorsements and strong recommendations for this gem of a property.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated; the house itself was absolutely stunning, mirroring the beautiful pictures online with remarkable accuracy. It was incredibly easy and quick to arrange both transportation and various excursions, which greatly enhanced our trip. A special mention must go to the two remarkable women who maintain the property. Their hospitality was exceptional; they were not only incredibly but also remarkably prompt and efficient in addressing every single one of our needs and concerns. Amazing vacation spot for our 2 families (5 adults and 6 kids). The house was spotless, organized and the location was beautiful and private. The kids loved the pool and the nature hike to the private beach for seashell and crab hunting. Short drive to a beautiful beaches and town for fun and food. We felt very safe and loved having the option of dinners being prepared after a long day. Sonia and her team were spectacular! Can't wait to come back.

Amazing! The house is amazing as well has the house staff, Alexandra and Sonya, and chef Erik! The house architecture, design and layout blended in so perfectly with the beautiful Costa Rican landscape. Frank and Anggie’s attention to detail for the furnishings of the home and amenities provided is exquisite! The views are gorgeous from every area of the house, which was perfect for our large family of 8 adults and 4 young kids. The layout of the house was perfect with one wing for the 2 families with kids. Alexandra and Sonya were so sweet and helpful. Each morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, and pancakes or French toast, etc. which was a wonderful start to our days! Chef Erik is also amazing! Every dish he prepared was fantastic! Alexandra helped us through the week to arrange a taxi for us to pop to the Carillo beach or town. The concierge service recommended was also exceptional and arranged multiple excursions for us. Fantastic, Amazing! We loved it!!

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything was great, better than what we had even pictured. Perfect home for a large group with an amazing view, it was so peaceful! Sonia and her crew were SPECTACULAR and breakfast each morning was delicious, as well as the dinners we arranged with her. We opted to not cook while there, but the kitchen was VERY well equipped had we decided to. We will definitely look to stay here again when back in the area.

Where to start? This house is absolutely phenomenal, pictures just can't do it justice. The property was pristine, private, safe and secure. We had all manner of wildlife visit at a safe distance- monkeys, fireflies, lizards, and birds. The entire experience was premium- fixtures, furniture, and every single amenity, large and small. These hosts thought of everything- I was particularly fond of the Jura coffee maker and the house-wide Sonos soundsystem. And the food was just AMAZING! A beautiful breakfast every morning on our schedule, and Chef Erick... the man is a genius. Everything he touched was delicious! The caretakers were kind and discreet, and incredibly attentive. Our host couldn't have been more accommodating with our schedule, totally understanding and flexible with our late arrival. The booking services provided by the management were perfect in every way. I could go on forever. I cannot recommend this booking enough, and we will absolutely be back! THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Great stay and plenty of space for our group of 11. The pictures do not do this property justice - we would absolutely return. Having Sonia on site was also great, as we could enjoy our stay even more without having to worry about cooking for our large group. Our kids also loved the dog!

This house is amazing. Perfect for our group of friends to all have separate spaces but still be together. The view is amazing, the pool is perfection, the local beach so fun! The house manager was extremely helpful, responsive, available on site. We hired chef Eric every night of our stay and it was worth every penny! This home is open air with the exception of the bedrooms, which we enjoyed but good to note for others. The local town is very small and chill. This is not a going out house, more relaxation vibes. Very remote, local and private. We booked a fishing trip and an ATV experience through the concierge and they were both amazing experiences! Chef even cooked the fresh fish from our trip that night!

My husband I spent 10 days this May in this beautiful home, honestly the photos are very accurate. The grounds are beautiful and of course that pool! We were mesmerized by the pool and the waves crashing against the rocks every day. Sonia and her staff are amazing, breakfast was perfect every morning and we chose to have dinner at the home on 3 occasions. I highly recommend having Sonia cook for you she is a wonderful cook, I felt the food was better at the house than going out. We went at the beginning of low season and there were very few people in town or in the restaurants so we were able to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about waiting. The only downfalls we experienced (newbie to Costa Rica) was the heat, humidity and bugs but largely the humidity. It was impossible to cook an evening meal and enjoy it since the common areas are not air conditioned. Take ALL THE BUG SPRAY with you! We hope to be back again soon!

We were always felt welcomed and taken care of in every way, from having our breakfast and dinner prepared, rooms always tidy and clean to an overall pleasant atmosphere and hospitality from Alexandra and other staff. This is truly a privileged experience to have and we are grateful to be able to experience it.

This house was amazing. The setting is magical! The design of the house forces you to be outside and appreciate the beauty of Costa Rica. The pool was amazing! Even though it was 90 degrees, the pool must have a chiller as it was always refreshing! The walk down to the beach/coastline from the house was easy and unlike anything we have ever experienced. Hermit crabs everywhere! The views were gorgeous. The local beaches were incredible. We surfed in Samara and chilled on the beach in Carillo. We also Ziplined and took a boat tour which the kids loved and was money well spent. Once we got the hang of the AC units in the bedrooms they kept things nice and cool at night! Sonya and Alexandra (house attendants) were super sweet, friendly and helpful. The daily morning breakfast was always fantastic with fresh fruits, some type of eggs, and there was always something rotational such as french toast, pancakes, rice & beans, etc.... Fantastic! We loved it!

Our group of 10 quickly felt at home in this beautiful villa in a secluded spot overlooking the ocean. The staff were cheerful and efficient. It was the perfect place to relax, converse, read, and swim. The house, especially the pool, is impeccable. There was room for people to gather or retreat, depending upon their wishes. We were soothed by the sound of waves, and delighted by the calls of howler monkeys and cicadas. By the end of the stay, everyone felt refreshed and at peace.

This house is just as described! Beautiful, peaceful and serene. Sonja, Ale (and Gaudy) made the stay extra special. The most delicious and thoughtfully prepared breakfasts each morning were such a hit with everyone! Would highly recommend a car as the road into town is long and the walk in the heat would have been far. Carrillo is a beautiful beach and Samara is a short drive away! It was perfect! My family and I spent a magical week in Costa Rica at France's home. We made so many wonderful memories! The house is beautifully designed and impeccably maintained, both inside and out. The salt water pool was a source of great enjoyment. We often swam after breakfast and again after dinner, often going late into the evening. Sonia, our chef, and her crew prepared some of the best meals we had in Costa Rica. They also kept the house clean and in good order, a real task given we were nine travelers ranging in age from 2 to 75! We spent many days just relaxing at the house to spend time with each other and take in the beautiful ocean view. Anggie was an excellent host, and responded very quickly to any questions or requests. For a wonderful time in Costa Rica, I highly recommend this home!

Anggie and every one who was there at the villa was great, including Negra the black lab... The house was beautiful and the perfect size, seeing whales pass by in the morning while we drank the most amazing coffee was a treat. As the other reviews recommend, learn how to work the coffee machine! Who doesn't love waking to howler monkey's in the early morning hours. Our breakfast/brunch times varied every morning depending on our daily plans and we were pleasantly surprised every day. I recommend the huevos rancheros. The fresh fruit platters were also amazing. Erik prepared dinners for us with daily preparations of tuna or mahi, pastas and meats. We all went on diets after our wonderful vacation week at the black pearl villa. Enjoy this villa, it is a beautiful place!

The rare listing that’s actually better than described. The staff was wonderful, the breakfasts and dinners were excellent, the home is well designed, well maintained and exceptionally clean. The air conditioning and all appliances worked perfectly. The ocean views are amazing and the private pool was exceptional.Highly recommend!

Easily the best Airbnb we have stayed at. We felt right at home and for our large group it was exactly what we needed. Enough space to spread out and have privacy but perfect layout to have gather and enjoy each other. Such a nice touch to have daily breakfast provided and dinner when we needed it. 100% recommend!

Anggie was extremely helpful and connected us to the local concierge. She was responsive and even helped us bring in a chef for New Years Eve. The house is better than the photos! It is extremely remote and 20min from Samara. Your own car is a must.

Our family had a fabulous vacation at this beautiful villa. Breakfast each morning was perfect and dinners with Chef Erick were great. Make sure you ask for the ginger lemonade!! We deviated from the menu after the first night and he did a fabulous job with all of our requests. The villa and surroundings are gorgeous and the sunsets didn't disappoint. We were visited by the howlers 2 days in a row which is always entertaining. Alexandra was always responsive to our requests and was extremely helpful in every way. Between Alexandra and Pierre at Natural Center Tours, our massages, restaurant reservations and tours were handled easily. Thanks to the whole group for making this an amazing vacation for our family.

One thing if you appreciate good coffee and how it is brewed make sure to watch a video on how to use the Jura espresso machine before you use it. Pura vida

We even saw monkeys right from the house! The nearby beach is breathtaking, easily one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. The owners were amazing, attentive to our every need, making us feel truly welcome. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, with gluten-free options thoughtfully prepared for me. The chef’s meals were fantastic, with ample portions perfect for sharing. This house felt like a dream come true, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return again and again. My friends and I are beyond grateful for this unforgettable experience. Five stars without a doubt!

We had the most incredible visit! Everything was exactly as described - completely gorgeous and very clean. The chefs made the most delicious dinners and breakfasts. We traveled with 5 kids and we couldn’t get them out of the pool. The surrounding beaches were some of the best we have been to. Hope to come back one day!

Our experience at La Perla Negra was nothing short of incredible. We spent an unforgettable week there, and if it weren’t for our careers calling us back, we would have extended our stay without hesitation. Alexandra and Sonia they truly made our stay special. By the end of our visit, they felt like family. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, and willingness to help made all the difference. Alexandra even suggested we try ATV riding, and we’re so glad we took her advice it was an amazing adventure!And then there’s Chef Eric. We had him prepare three of our meals, choosing from the restaurant-style menu. The food was fantastic, but where Chef Eric really shines is when you let him freestyle in the kitchen. We caught some Mahi Mahi on an excursion and asked him to create dishes that would complement the fish. He exceeded our expectation everything he made was absolutely perfect. The home itself is spectacular, The architecture created breathtaking views! We will be back! Pura Vida!

La Perla Negra is a very special place. I have never stayed anywhere like it. The house and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the amenities are outstanding. I celebrated my birthday here with a group of family and friends and it was unforgettable. Alexandra and Zonia took care of everything we needed and were so friendly and kind. We also used the services of Erick (their chef) one night and the dinner was delicious. I can't say enough good things about this place. Rent it - you will not be sorry.

3 words. In home chef! This feature made our trip in Puerto Carillo. Yes, it’s off the beaten path, so do not expect walkable nightlife or restaurants, though that is just 10 minutes away in Samara. But having your personal chef at your disposable makes you not want to leave the home at all. The pool was a huge hit, especially since it rained often so pool trumped the beach most days. Bring plenty mosquito spray as you are in the waterfront and you dine outside next to the pool. The main living room space is not air conditioned, and this was our only gripe, as it was uncomfortably hot when outside your personal bedrooms. But that is not enough to drop this gem even a star. 5 stars all the way! Owners were quite prompt in text response, but most questions can be easily handled by Sonia, your personal live in chef and housekeeper. She was THE BEST! Thanks and we will return! Pura Vida!

My family and I had a wonderful vacation, thanks to Anggie and France. They were extremely accommodating for all my needs and planning birthday surprises for my mother’s 60th birthday. The location is private and the views are breathtaking. The travel time to the villa is totally worth it! Much better than a typical resort. We were able to bask in the culture with just a short trip into the local town. The architecture of the home is beautifully designed and it lends well to a relaxing getaway. I can still taste Chef Erik’s amazing homemade Costa Rican dishes. Totally recommend this space for you and your family & friends

This place was beyond amazing...the views while sitting in the infinity lap pool were so calm and serene. We were in touch with Sonia who was around if we needed anything!! She was a gem and provided us with everything. She did not get in our way at all and if anything she surely was the most hospitable person. She made fantastic breakfast every morning and dinner the one night we had was spectacular. The rooms were clean and the water pressure just a touch weak but still the bathrooms were spotless and perfect. Beds were great and as long as you keep the fans on it remains cool as there is no central A/C on the main floor. Pool/Furniture/Details/ All else is 10/10 Also very close to Puerto Carrillo. Calm waters. Make sure to use Waze instead of google maps to come here otherwise you will face a very bumpy/pothole filled road. Won't forget this Airbnb!

We had a fabulous stay at France's house. It was like being in a large elaborate treehouse in the jungle but the house had everything we needed. Kids loved it. Once we figured out how to control the A/C, we had a great nights sleep even though the temp in the area was humid. We used all of the amenities, pool, pool table, beach equipment, etc. Great view of the ocean from where we were. I highly recommend this tucked away place as a great if you want to be secluded yet very comfortable and safe.

France’s home was a place beyond imagination. A true hidden gem in a quiet and costal town that was filled with sounds of nature and beauty. Alexandra made our stay here truly special and memorable, from making us delicious breakfast to cleaning up the rooms and always being extra attentive to any other needs we had. The chef was another amazing addition to the house, cooking us delicious healthy meals that were always on time and presented to us in a beautiful manner. Overall, our stay at this house was beyond amazing and will most definitely keep this in our books to visit again and again.
