3BR Home in Puerto Escondido

Valeria

Excellent, 3 weeks ago

We loved the house. It was definitely wonderful. They were very attentive and responded very quickly to anything that happened. We did suffer a bit because there is no air conditioning, but I'm sure it's perfect in the winter. It's very close to Zicatela and La Punta, no more than 10 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

Host Response

Thank you very much for staying at Casa. Ōllama. They left everything perfect. They are amazing guests. Without a doubt, if they come back here. We would love to have them back.

Casa Ollama is an incredible house and experience for architecture and Brutalism enthusiasts visiting Puerto Escondido that unfortunately loses some of its splendor to mediocre maintenance and management. The design of the house made us feel like we were living in a piece of art. Staying here, immersed in nature and in the cutest feline company, felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience we are happy to have spent the extra dollars on to treat ourselves. However, several small maintenance issues and some neighboring construction present when we visited make us hope that the owners will spend these extra dollars on a few projects to make future guests 100% happy to have chosen Casa Ollama for their Puerto Escondido adventure.

very cool brutalist architecture. some very minor hiccups during our stay, e.g. only two towels for five people on arrival, fridge was constantly beeping, and pool maintenance was scheduled during our one-day stay, but the host was very friendly and responsive and did her best to address all concerns promptly. the property is just a few minutes to town/beach by car, but it's a rough road so we were happy to have a 4x4. overall we were happy with our decision to stay here, it's a memorable (and exceptionally photogenic) place!

Jorge was a very friendly and attentive host; he responded quickly to all our questions and requests. The house is very nice and has an open and eco-friendly concept that makes it special. It is located in a quiet and somewhat secluded area, so it is ideal if you are looking to rest and connect with nature. It is advisable to have a car to get to restaurants, beaches or other places. As it's an open house, there may be insects and the lighting in the rooms is dim, but everything is part of the place's most natural experience.

Casa Ollama is a beautiful residence. I chose it to celebrate my 40th birthday with my friends and I was really embarrassed from day one because for what I paid I also made a bad impression with my guests. The pool and several areas of the house need maintenance. We never bathed because it was dirty. The shower and faucet in one of the rooms was unusable because it was clogged with limestone. The toilet also got stuck. Work began early in the morning next door and the hosts never apologized for the inconvenience. The terrace is completely abandoned and there are only 3 chairs in the entire house. Finally, one of the hosts when he brought us the hairdryer (which we kindly requested) expressly told us that "for how we Europeans are used to, the price of the house is nothing!" What a rude person! Too bad for the architect who created this house, who has bad owners.

One of the most beautiful airbnbs I've seen in Puerto Escondido, super quiet, super friendly, has everything you need, and they gave us very clean. Just take into consideration that it is a little "hidden", so, although taxis will be able to arrive, it is not accessible to arrive in any other way than a vehicle. For the same reason, like to emphasize that he is not walking from La Punta, it is with mandatory transport, only to be taken into consideration. However, it is quite close (by car) to both Punta and Zicatela and the host will provide them with trusted taxi contacts who know how to arrive without a problem. Equal to comment and that it is taken into consideration that two rooms do not have a WC, and they share one that is outside them; although all three have showers. Nonetheless, having stayed in such a beautiful place as Casa Ollama did make our trip a more pleasant experience. Yes, I recommend it and I think it's all worth it, Congratulations!

One of the coolest and most unique AibBnbs I’ve rented, which made for a great vacation for us. The house is a really stunning place to stay with all you need, and perfect for a vacation getaway to Puerto Escondido. We really enjoyed how much the home felt integrated with the surroundings. It is also a really great balance between private/secluded and still being close to everything, only a quick scooter ride away from anything you need, the beach and all the hotspots. The on site host Jorge was very friendly and welcoming, and such a great help along the way with everything we needed - from taxis/scooters, to recommendations, to assistance.

Casa Ollama is a special home. We booked it last minute and am thrilled that we had the opportunity to do so. The home is a design dream. Jorge, who manages the property, is such a kind, helpful, and accommodating individual. In our short stay, he made us feel welcome, provided us with helpful information, helped procure transportation for us, and just checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. We felt so welcome by him. I am sad that we didn't get to spend more time in the home but we will definitely book Casa Ollama for our next trip to Puerto Escondido. I can't recommend this home highly enough. It's a quick drive away from a restaurant, shopping area, it's peaceful and private. I highly recommend Casa Ollama to anyone looking for a private oasis that's close enough to the nightlife and entertainment area of Puerto Escondido.

Jorge is the perfect host from scratch: we thank you for your availability, your good humor and your desire to make everything easier (taxi contacts, recommendations, welcome for the features of the house, etc.). The house itself was a little design paradise surrounded by nature! Impeccable level of cleanliness, comfort, light, calm, architectural details... It was an unprecedented experience and we recommend to all nature and design lovers not to hesitate! Looking forward to coming back, thank you so much Jorge.

One of the coolest Airbnb's I have ever stayed in. Architecturally interesting, comfortable, secure. It was an amazing place to feel on vacation and explore Puerto Escondido from. It would be especially great for a large group of friends (and I hope to come back!). The bedrooms were big and well spaced out from each other, and the common areas are huge! We got scooters in order to hop from beach to beach. Although the house is not right on the beach, it is in a central location where it is not too hard to get to La Punta or Playa Carizalillo. Michel has good taxi references that know the location well.

We loved Casa Ollama. Just a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere alongside stunning architecture and design. This is a truly unique and magical space and we would love to come back one day!

Hands down the coolest airbnb I've ever stayed in. It's even better than the pictures - especially the huge rooftop area!! You even have a view of the ocean. There were 4 people in our group and we could not have been happier with our stay for the week. The bedrooms were much larger than the pictures made it seem. Tons of space for hanging out and lounging as well, fantastic vibe. If we ever come back to PE, we will 100% stay here again. I was worried about the location at first since we didn't rent a car, and while a car would have made it a little easier, it was totally doable with just taxis. Michel provided the contact of two taxi drivers familiar with the house, so we were able to schedule rides with them no problem (even 6am rides for the airport). If the location is making you debate whether or not to stay here, I would highly recommend going for it!

Host Response

I am so happy you enjoyed the house. Please let me know if you come back. Have a safe trip. Michel

Architectural gem in Porto Escondido. The house and the host were perfect. Jorge was attentive and extremely accommodating. He made sure we had the perfect getaway.

Casa Ollama is simply magical!!! Such a quiet, peaceful and welcoming neighborhood. Easy walking to the beach, the market and la punta. Out of the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to enjoy all that Puerto Escondido has to offer. And that’s just the outside. The house itself is an architectural marvel. The clean lines and unique living spaces are complemented by beautiful plants and rustic wood touches. Our kids spent hours in the pool and rocking in the hammocks. Michel and Jorge were incredibly responsive, kind and helpful. They provided recommendations for Spanish and surf classes, as well as local beaches to explore. We could not recommend Casa Ollama more. We had a truly splendid stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

Great place !!

Hands down, the house is worth it! Our stay at Casa Ollama was the best. It’s a state-of-the-art beautiful modern house, yet it instantly felt like home. It was ideal for my two friends and I to spend a week at. There’re hammocks, a pool, a beautiful dining area, three perfect bedrooms, and a rooftop area to suntan on or watch the sunset and the stars from. The house is very close to the beach and all the restaurants; at the same time, it’s located on a secluded hill, away from all the noise, lights, and tourists. I’ll never forget our time at this house and will dream to come back. Thank you, Michel and Jorge! You are the best hosts.

This place was absolutely incredible. The architecture and beauty blew us away. Communication with Michel was extremely easy and prompt and Jorge was extremely helpful getting us in. Be prepared to encounter bugs and such as the design of the home is to be one with the elements. Overall we were impressed to stay in this gorgeous space. Thank you again Michel. We will definitely be booking again on our next trip back to Puerto Escondido

The house is beautiful although the electricity is precarious because it is solar. If there is no sun the fan will turn off and the ceiling fans could not even start due to lack of light. (3 days of rain). The pool is not a pool. It is not used and is dirty. It is more like a water mirror. The mosquito nets are excellent and very necessary. Surrounded by beautiful nature but difficult to access shops and restaurants

The house is very nice, the smell of the jungle that surrounds the house is fabulous. We had a few rainy days but we had electricity most of the time. The birds and their sounds were the only noise at night. The pool that appears in the photo is not for swimming, it's just a mirror of water. Highly recommended if you are looking for the peace of a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of bars and restaurants.
