This was our second stay at La Amada. Our first visit with Araceli was outstanding. This stay with Hector had some communication and maintenance issues I hope are taken as constructive feedback. Upon arrival, the front desk had not been notified of our check-in, and we received no advance check-in instructions. Traveling with our young granddaughter, we waited outside until Hector answered our call and then showed up, which we appreciated. The condo's location, beds, washer/dryer, and air conditioning were excellent. However, several light bulbs were out, the TV had no usable local or subscription stations, the kitchen had a worn dish holder and utensil holder, one bedroom outlet contained part of a broken plug, a bathroom towel holder was broken, one shower drained poorly, and a bedroom ceiling fan was noisy. The real danger is the mismatched coffee maker and pot! We never requested a partial refund or mentioned these issues during our stay because we wanted to enjoy our vacation.

We loved staying at this condo. The condo itself and the facilities were impressive and the beach was pristine. Location is a little less convenient, but if you’re planning to stay primarily at the resort and do most of the foo prep this is fine . Though the property has a restaurant other restaurants in the area are less accessible. So plan on a bit of transit time. Otherwise we loved the beach, the pool, and the overall experience.

We were in Cancun for a wedding at another resort. Hector’s place was perfect for my husband & myself with our 3 adult/married kids. The resort is quiet with a great pool and beach access. My son in law worked out daily at the gym. The connivence store had some basics then we used Uber eats for more breakfast staples. The restaurant on the property is reasonably priced with good, clean food - watermelon juice, granola/yogurt parfait, shrimp tacos, Baja tacos, salmon, steak all good with fresh veggies. We hadn’t been to Cancun in 35 years and it’s really grown. One thing guest should know is to enter any resort there is high security. Have your passport to enter and leave. Our only issue was when we arrived at the first security point they said our air BnB wasn’t at the location. We lost wifi and the map app kept directing us to a service entrance. That was the only complication. Everything else fantastic!

Before booking 30 nights, we checked with the admin that there would be no construction during our stay. We were told no. The neighboring house was under construction. We spent our vacation to the sound of saws and hammers. We're settling in. There are no towels, no soap, no hangers. In none of the three kitchens (because this house is actually 3 apartments) there were no table linen, dish towels, not even a corkscrew. The washing machine for clothes only washed with boiling water; a toilet had to be repaired twice and many other details. A pump gave way and completely flooded the 2nd floor. Trouble cleaning, washing, drying the carpet and replacing, a week later. At the same time, the central air conditioning died and was never repaired. Water damage in a bathroom required the replacement of a defective faucet. In short, a lot of bad luck and irritants because this house lacks love and basic maintenance.

Host Response

Thank you for your stay and for acknowledging Carlos' support during your visit. During this period there were some unusual technical incidents that were addressed as they were reported, keeping the house in operation throughout the stay. Several of the points mentioned have already been reviewed and corrected as part of our ongoing maintenance, as our goal is to always offer a comfortable and reliable experience to our guests.

Hello! The house is very well located. It is very comfortable for large groups although it does not have many spaces to share and enjoy all together. Ideal for large families where everyone eats in their own kitchen without sharing the table. The person in charge of cleaning was not available on the dates we went. And no one met us when we arrived. It's ideal in such a large house that someone explains basic things about the operation and organization. The house has a golf cart that was spectacular for teenagers as well as bicycles. There was a lot of equipment missing to eat together. Fountain, tupperware, pots, dishes, etc. Very safe and a pleasant natural environment. It doesn't have good wifi. There are no recommendations on where to eat, where to go, etc. You can always leave something printed.
