3BR Villa in Puerto Vallarta

Excellent, 2 months ago

Anne & Campbell's place was an absolute dream. The pictures of the exterior and interior don't do it justice. Truly beachfront and way more spacious than we imagined. The location was perfect, nothing better than hearing the waves crash on the beach at night. The AC in every room worked very well, we were able to shut it off when leaving the property and it cooled the rooms extremely fast upon return. The cleaning staff was friendly, non-invasive and did an excellent job. The most impressive part is the infrastructure of support that they have created surrounding the experience - they quickly set up round trip transportation, arranged golf cart rental (worth the money), have an on-site property manager and security group, and so on. Response time and effort was stellar. 11/10 recommend. Not a single negative thing to say and will be returning if they're gracious enough to have us again. Thank you so much, Anne & Campbell!

Traveled to Sayulita for my daughter's destination wedding. Anne & Campbell's place was perfect for our family to stay as we embarked upon a weeklong celebration. We rented both the upper and lower homes, providing us 6 large bedrooms and private bathrooms. The home was spacious, beautifully decorated with local designs. We had daily housekeeping services that kept the place clean and fully stocked. The location was ideal, right on the beach with a gorgeous view of daily sunsets, a short walk into town and to the other places where guests were staying. The staff was great with checking in on us and helping with anything we needed. There's a great bar right out front that serves delicious drinks, guacamole and ceviche. We loved the large verandas, the spacious living room and dining room in addition to the beach chairs, umbrellas and boogey boards. It was our first trip to Sayulita, but definitely not our last.

Had a very nice stay here with our two grade school aged kids. Location was really ideal. It's a quick walk to a corner store, several restaurants and only a 5-10 min walk to center of town. It's just far enough away that it tended to be a lot quieter and relaxing at the beach in front of the unit, but also close enough if you wanted to walk down the beach to be part of the crowd. Nights were quiet too and everyone slept great. Unit and complex were in pretty good shape. Kids enjoyed the pool. Daily cleaner was a nice perk. Outdoor couch and table was a nice area to relax, eat, drink and check the surf. Sunsets are spectacular without ever needing to leave the patio. We used a recommended chef (Gaby) who prepared some great dinners at the house to take advantage of the space and watch sunset as we ate. Overall a great place. One tip - Despite paying everywhere with credit/tap in CDMX/GDL, Sayulita still has a lot of cash only spots. ATMS can be spotty with limits/fees - bring pesos.

The location cannot be beat. every day, you wake up to an incredible view of the ocean. The Northside is the ideal place to be in Sayulita, as it is quiet, but still not far to get to the busier side of town. We rented a golf cart, as it was very hot when we visited and we were glad that we did, but would probably not be necessary if you’re comfortable walking. AC unit got nice and cold at night and we slept great.. The only issues was that construction was taking place on one of the units behind ours. On our final full day, jackhammering started in the morning. I messaged Anne and Campbell. They had not realized that was happening and the issue got resolved very quickly and didn’t happen again while we were there. I think that could be an issue anywhere you stay as there is construction happening everywhere in the city, but might be worth checking on. Otherwise, everything about our stay and our hosts was wonderful and we would love to come back. You can’t go wrong here!

The home was comfortable and beautiful. Anne & Campbell were very accommodating by allowing us to enter prior to the official check in time. It just so happens that the cleaning lady was done. We did get recommendations for a golf cart and a driver from the airport and both recommendations turned out to be very successful. They were kind efficient and fairly priced. Side note, the home we rented is the first level only, not the 2nd floor. The images show the entire home but it is only for the 1st floor. Overall, beautiful space and oceanic view.

Beautiful home right on a great quiet beach. Home is very large more than the pictures show. Brand new beach chairs umbrellas and some toys for use. Housekeeping every day was great. We were very close proximity to town and restaurants, the pool was always very quiet we often had it to ourselves. Beautiful views from the living area and deck. Our hosts were always very responsive to any questions we had during our stay.

Very nice place right on the beach in Sayulita! House was great, clean, staff was attentive. The AC in one bedroom seemed to get a little sluggish a couple days in, but was quickly addressed and perked back up. If you are a first timer in Sayulita, as we were... I would advise, if you are walking from the bus stop (Which it is a short and managable 10 minute walk) , google will give you directions over a HUGE hill. Dont listen to google, walk a couple blocks down closer to the beach for a flat hike! All in all very happy with the place, and our stay in Sayulita.

The location and views from the property, Villa Dulcinea, are fabulous. Note the rental is actually the bottom floor of a two unit building, located on the front side of the five unit? complex called Las Hamacas. The unit above Dulcinea was occupied at least part of the time we stayed and there was little problem with noise or sharing. Out front is your own terrace, but the beachside lawn area is shared with the rest of the complex (as is a pool nestled in the center of the buildings). It's a fifty foot walk to the sand and about a ten minute stroll down the beach to the center of town. Everything feels at hand--no car, needed and the wealth of Sayulita's restaurants and activities are all within a short walk. The kitchen, laundry, and baths were all quite functional and the design beautiful and fitting. Boogie boards, beach chairs and a surfboard await. Bring a volleyball as there are a couple nets nearby The price was high, but the Dulcinea made our visit.

The location of the house, the grounds and the view were beyond spectacular. The house was very comfortable. The common spaces were great for the maximum number of guests to relax together. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beach was just out side the back door and was not over crowded. We could see whales in the distance as we relaxed our lanai. Beach chairs, umbrellas and towels were all provided and were in excellent condition. It was an easy walk on the road and on the beach to and from town. There were many restaurants and bars very close by. The convenience store, Mini Super Chewbacca, was a 5 minute walk, was open every day from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm and had everything we needed during our stay (food, liquor and an ATM). Importantly, our hosts were very kind and extremely responsive. We had issues opening our safe one day. The property manager was there to help us within 10 minutes of us messaging our hosts. I highly recommend staying at this property.

Amazing stay. We had the best of all worlds: beach within steps, some grassy area for throwing balls, massage places right out front, easy shopping/pharmacies nearby, and totally walkable to restaurants. We tried the Aloha Catering (ceviche, fajitas, guacamole, flan) and it was perfect and reasonable. Very easy to arrange. We ate way more sushi than we expected while in town and don’t miss the ice cream taco truck. So delish! The home was VERY spacious and comfortable for naps/cooking and the ac was great for making sleep that much more comfortable. Thank you for an amazing stay. We would love to stay again if it weren’t always booked! 🤣 This was the nicest place to stay on the beach!

We loved the apartment and the floor plan. It is huge, much bigger than the pictures indicate. The outdoor terrace is a winner and there are so many tables to use for games and eating latops. No TV for Netflix (did not worry us), big beds and huge bathrooms, effective AC and wifi. Loved the view and the beach out front. The beach is quiet here, but not great for swimming as the sand drops off quickly here and the small waves here can dump. But we knew that the best surf was to the south past the creek, where there was a constant 0.7-1.2 m surf every day. The sand is finer also and it is great, 12 min walk on the beach to get there, which is excellent as it means our beach is very quiet out front for sitting and margarita sipping! Lovely sunsets and super nice place. They are very nice owners to deal with.

Our entire family, four adults, and two small children, were blown away by the Villa Dulcinea. The Villa itself has large rooms and a great family room, a beautiful patio overlooking the ocean directly with no other structures in the view, and a large grass backyard that ends where the sand and ocean begin. The daily housekeeper service was very helpful. The walkability of the location is also important. This was our second visit to beautiful Sayulita and the location so near the town either by a 5-minute walk by the road or along the shore meant golf carts were not necessary (but nice to have if you want to go further). We look forward to returning to the Villa Dulcinea again! Larry and Marie

It's a very large condo that could easily entertain 10+ people. The location and view are fantastic. Proximity to many restaurants is great but also far enough away to not be bothered with late night partiers. Another review indicated the condo was a bit dated. That's mostly true, but not in an impactful way. The Wifi works really well. The only thing that we found a bit surprising is that the washer and dryer (in this unit) is used by the housekeeping for the other units. While I wouldn't have normally even noticed that, we opted out of housekeeping each day (just didn't need it). So, when housekeeing was there on the first full day and each day thereafter, it was a bit of a surprise. Not really an issue and unlikely to have even noticed if we'd opted in for daily housekeeping but would have been nice to know. There is A/C in each of the bedrooms, but the main living areas are not AC'd. I'd stay there again.

This is one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever stayed at. It has so much character and is absolutely stunning. The view when we woke up the first morning, took our breath away. Our favorite place to hang out was the deck, there’s really no need to go anywhere else you’re not going to get a better location or view. Add that with being steps from the beach made it unbeatable. The beach out front is spectacular. The water is so warm. It was nice to be away from the busy beaches but they were only a 15 minute walk away. The place itself is spacious and full of charm. The beds are comfy and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen could use some updates, it’s not well equipped for those that want to cook. Just a heads up, there is no dishwasher. They do provide plenty of towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. I will definitely stay here again:)

This was our 3rd trip to Sayulita in the past 2yrs. First time staying beachfront at Anne&Campbell’s. It was amazing! So nice to wake up and have coffee with the sound of waves on your doorstep. Three great en-suite bedrooms. Great communal living spaces to stretch out in. Great outdoor spaces as well. Walking (flat) distance to everything. Just 10min to town center, but other shopping/dining options even closer. Always felt safe with onsite security and property maintenance. We’d highly recommend this place to anyone.

The view from the terrace is incredible. The exterior of the Las Hamacas complex is well maintained, clean, same with the pool. The building is at 2 steps from the beach, which is great with kids. However, the interior lacked love and maintenance. The furniture is very old, many switches do not work, the light fixtures would benefit from being replaced to provide better lighting, the dish rack in the sink is rusty, the shower heads need to be changed. Little things that would make a big difference.

The house is beautiful but the location is amazing! You are close to everything but with the tranquility that gives the place that is spacious and comfortable where you feel in an oasis of peace. The beach, the view and the comfort the house offers are unique. The rooms are spacious, the comfortable beds, the wifi and the air conditioners (very important to sleep well) all worked perfectly. The kindness of Anne and Campbell is second to none as is the girl who came to do the cleaning every day. It's the 4th time we stayed in this house but the first we do it through airbnb and we always decided to come back because we love its space. There is nothing I can or would like to change. Definitely a place to disconnect.

My girlfriends and I had the best time at Anne & Campbell's place in Sayulita. It is a beautiful villa in a perfect, quiet location. The porch overlooking the ocean was honestly so dreamy. We had everything we needed with the well stocked kitchen (it even had a juicer!). The beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft. The maid service was such a nice bonus. We would definitely recommend it and may even go back one day!

Our vacation and stay was fantastic at Casa Dulcinea - the best! Ideal location in Sayulita - super quiet and right on the beach, as well as an easy walk to town. From the bedrooms to the living area to the veranda, everything was well appointed and we felt like it was a true home. User friendly property for all types of traveling groups, including families with small kids to adults/couples - plenty of room and space for any size group. On-site staff and cleaning crew were super nice and added an extra touch. 10 out of 10 experience!

There were 6 of us, and we all felt very comfortable. We loved hanging out on the terrace with coffee, wine or a book. The space was perfect for us, and we felt very safe. Beds were comfortable. We thought the daily cleaning might be over the top, but it was great. We took a fun hike to San Pancho on Tuesday and spent the day. The ocean views were beautiful. We would suggest that you check on the water quality before swimming or surfing. There have been some recent issues as of 2/2024. Having direct beach access was fabulous, and we would go back.

My stay with during the new year break. The location was absolutely perfect. It’s literally right in front of the beach but private. There are great restaurants and bars within walking distance. The place was very clean and it really helps to have the house staff they are most days. We had a few issues with the leaks, which is pretty common in Mexico, but they were handled almost immediately. The Airbnb hosts are extremely extremely responsive. I highly recommend staying at this property and also any other property they may have.

Buyer beware. While the unit has absolutely fantastic location and beach front access, it has not been maintained at all which is a real shame. With a little Love and regular maintenance this would be the perfect place. The listing advertises stainless steel appliances but given the age and rust it is irrelevant. The listing originally said it had a dishwasher when I booked it but it did not and when we complained the host simply removed it, lacking integrity and saying what she meant was the daily cleaning service. The fridge worked on and off and intermittently. If you let dishes pile up watch out for flies and cockroaches. the laundry room was in complete disarray with rusted machines and holes in the walls etc. for similar price along the beach front between punta mita and sayulita there are units that have been much better maintained. I would say the lack of proper appliances and lack and cleanliness made it very uncomfortable with the 2 infants and toddler.

Host Response

Unfortunately this person came in with an agenda to negotiate a refund even before arriving. Our phone conversations consisted of this person’s (obviously intoxicated) group SCREAMING at me on speaker phone, and then to a negotiation over refund $ vs. rating review. They clearly premeditated a scam to receive a refund. This was confirmed by their refusal to involve Airbnb in the discussions. There was no winning in this situation. We of course welcome any legitimate feedback and will make amends if something is broken or not how it was represented in the listing. Being next to the ocean in a humid climate it’s true appliances do rust faster, but the situation is not at all how this guest describes. After several visits from local staff and contractors this person’s feedback appears to be dishonest.

Casa Dulcinea is a true gem in paradise! We traveled here with toddlers and the place was just perfect. The close beach and pool access was ideal for the kids, while still being close enough to walk into town. Kitchen was stocked with all the basics, and we appreciated Anne and Campbell helping us arrange transportation to/from the airport. The hospitality as part of the Las Hamacas community was top notch, housekeeping was wonderful and when one of the bedroom AC units stopped working, they had it fixed for us ASAP. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we’re already planning our next trip back!

What a place!!!! We loved every single thing about this place. Thank you for hosting us!!

We loved the 8 nights that we stayed at Villa Dulcinea. We were there with our two children and their significant others—3 couples in all. It was very spacious with comfortable common areas, and the air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite baths provided comfort and privacy. The housekeeping service was a great treat for us, and it made it one of our most relaxing vacations ever. The view of the ocean is beautiful, and while we did take advantage of nearby restaurants, we spent the majority of mealtimes and happy hours right on our own porch. We would return in a heartbeat!

We had the best time at Villa Dulcinea! The location was perfect. Just a five minute walk to town and steps from the beach. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed and they even left a bag of ice in the freezer for us. The place felt secure even being right on the beach. Would highly recommend for groups.

We came to celebrate a girlfriend’s 50th, the place was absolutely spectacular! Close to town, direct access to beach, a shared pool, close to amazing restaurants. The best part was having drinks on the balcony, enjoying our view, listening to the birds, hearing the ocean waves, observing the unique sunsets, watching the lightening storms roll through the ocean in the evening. Would definitely recommend this place! Sayulita is beautiful!

The Villa as many have said is stunning. Waking up to the sound of crashing waves every day was amazing. I could easily have stayed many more nights. We explored the Nayarit area and it was a great base camp while also an attraction within itself. On the quieter side of the beach which for us was perfect. Daily cleaning service was a huge plus. Accessible car port also a huge plus (since we were exploring). Perfect vacation.

The sunsets from the rear patio were stunning. Steps to the beach, close to town and on the beach bars on each side. Location is the north side of downtown, just far enough away so the beach wasn’t as crowded but close enough to easily walk… The unit bedrooms are nice size, each with AC and a nice private bath… only thing missing was AC in the kitchen/Family room… on site management was great and cleaners come every day… highly recommend this home…

our stayed was awesome, at first, I thought it was a little expensive for being Mexico, but our view was stanning and made all worth it. Laura was very helpful with our accommodations, we arrived early and hungry she allowed us to leave our luggage in the office so we could go eat until our check in time. she helped us to book some tours and information about the town she was always very pleasant and knowledgeable about the surroundings. I was amazed about having a housekeeping every day I had never experience with an Arb&b before. The property is Gorgeous so clean and well maintained, very secure. pool area was beautiful and clean my kids used every day, we appreciate that there was floaties for them to used (how thoughtful). awesome outdoor patio with a stunning view, all it needs a fan for the hot weather. the humidity made the floors wet and very slippery that's the only downside, but I understand its nature. overall, we are extremely happy with our stayed. thank you, you have a gorgeous property

This place is amazing. It fit our 2 families of perfectly. We loved the Common spaces and huge outdoor porch which felt like an extension of the living, dining and kitchen area. The view was wonderful to watch the sunsets each night and it was just steps from the beach. The house was cleaned daily with towels and sheets washed. We enjoyed that is was out of town a bit. Thank you Anne and Campbell for sharing this little slice of heaven!
