Our stay at Marly’s Place was a wonderful part of our trip to Belize. Herbert reached out to me shortly after I reserved the house. He was pleasant, very responsive and kind. The house was simply lovely and comfortable. My party of three had everything we needed while we were there. The pool was perfect, and as described. The beach was clean, the water was warm and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. There were plenty of towels, plenty of outdoor furniture, the kitchen was stocked with all essentials, the beds were comfy, and Herbert made finding the house easy. He offered to take care of additional things, however, the place was top notch and we needed nothing more. I highly recommend if you find yourself in Placencia.

We had a wonderful time at Marly’s Place for our honeymoon! The house was a peaceful oasis, and we loved having our own private space right on the beach. The pool was in a perfect location in the shade. We really enjoyed using the kayak to explore the water just off the beach from our house. The house was clean and comfortable and the location was great for getting to lots of restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Herbert’s place was great for our family! We were a little concerned about the “external” stairway and having our kids on a different floor, but the stairway was enclosed and behind a locked gate - and our kids loved having some independence and a space of their own. The pool was big enough for 3 kids and four feet deep throughout. Herbert was very quick to communicate and an extremely helpful host!

Marley's Place is stunning. Do not even hesitate to book. Location is safe. House has fence so there is privacy. You can walk right out on the beach and there is also a canopy that provides shade. Pool is awesome for cooling down and listening to the ocean. You have everything you need to relax and relax some more. 😁

Marly's place is located in the ideal spot in Maya Beach. Very clean and well stocked with any you need. Herbert had many recommendations from restaurants to tours! Our family had the best stay yet in Belize. The pool was so relaxing after a long day. The hammock added to the relaxation with amazing views of the ocean. The water was too choppy to use the ocean kayak which was a bummer but the lounge chairs and table on the deck made up for it! We felt very safe with the gate in front and back. The grill was very useful! Definitely coming back!

Perfect spot in Belize!! House is absolutely amazing and a great location. Easy to get to snorkeling locations and the house is ideal for couples. Hebert was so easy to communicate with and made the whole trip wonderful. Highly recommend!

Amazing

The five of us really enjoyed our time -- comfortable beds, nice and clean, great A/C, well-stocked kitchen, and we especially loved the main porch off the kitchen and the kayaks. It's an extraordinarily beautiful setting from sunrise to sunset. We really recommend this place.

Herbert's listing was very beautiful you can walk out into the Caribbean sea and then there is a sandbar. We saw Star fish, needlefish and rays in the water in front of the house. I am sure if you snorkel there are more to see. The property was very clean, lovely kitchen which was well equipped new appliances. The baths in the main suite and upper suite have been updated very nicely. Lots of towels! The Junior Suite is very cozy and clean. Herbert was very prompt to reply and so understanding to all our questions and concerns. We did use the bikes and the kayak's from Maya Beach Hotel which was a very nice bonus. We would very much recommend booking with Herbert..

Fantastic location- just dreamy! Very peaceful and nice to be able to walk on the beach and to great local restaurants- our favourite was the Green parrot! Herbert was so helpful and kind. Couldn’t ask for more and would LOVE to go back!

The space was just perfect for 4 people. The location was safe and near grocery stores and restaurants. The beach was amazing and the pool was just perfect. The house had everything we needed and more. The couple of minor questions we had, Herbert was extremely responsive. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels and linens. Only one small thing to add, The property to the south is all concrete and any noise over there outside comes right up into the house. We did have one night where those people stayed up very late and were very loud, but we contacted Herbert the next morning and the property manager of the adjacent property and they were quiet as a mouse the next night.

Super nice place - spectacular setting - off the beaten path for peace and quiet, but still close enough to restaurants and activities. We loved it!! Herbert was amazingly helpful!

Beautiful house right on the beach! We enjoyed our stay

This property was perfect for our needs. The pictures don’t do it justice. The place is even more beautiful in person. The water is just steps away from the back porch, and the house worked wonderfully for my family. My wife and I stayed in the main bedroom, and my adult kids each had their own living areas. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The Maya Beach Hotel nearby was also very nice; we booked some tours through them and used their bikes during our stay. We dined out every night at different hotels and restaurants. We rented a golf cart, which was very useful, though we took taxis into town since the weather wasn’t great and it was more convenient. I would definitely stay at this property again. The hosts were excellent and responded quickly to all our questions.

Herbert's hacienda exceeded our expectations. The house is a great beautiful location. it is away from placencia so it is peaceful. The house is stocked well with towels and everything you need. We had a little trouble finding the place initially because it was marked wrong on the map. However, Herbert guided us to find it. it rained most of the time we were at Herbert's house, The top deck made the rain enjoyable to sit and listen to the storms. we loved staying here.

Great stay in Maya Beach. Fantastic, private beach and pool. Place is open and spacious. Perfect for 2 couples. Car or golf cart recommended.

We spent a wonderful week at Marly’s Place! After a leisurely 2.5 hour drive down from the airport, stepping into the house with its epic views and perfect amenities set the tone for the whole week. The pool and beach were just steps from the house - loved having the option of both! Herbert was a great host - reaching out regularly to make sure everything was to our liking. Placencia town is 25 minutes down the road and highly recommend checking out the restaurants at the resorts along the way; especially the Turtle Inn!

Lovely location on Maya Beach which has the nicest stretch of beach in my opinion. Herbert is a great host + quick communication. Maya Beach Bistro amenities are so close and it was nice to have paddle boards, kayaks, and the amazingly friendly service and fabulous food at the bistro. We also use their concierge to book all of our tours. To say the people in Belize are nice is an understatement. We are well traveled and it will stay in our minds as one of the more memorable communities we’ve visited. Beach out front is stunning and perfect for a swim. Shallow and crystal clear on calm days. We were there in rainy season so the sargassum came and went. They have a yard guy that comes every other day to clean it up with is super helpful.

Beautiful beach house. A little removed from town but that is what we wanted and easy to get to anything we needed with a rental car. Lived the look and beach right outside our back door. Kitchen had all we needed to make meals.

We absolutely loved staying at Joya Del Mar! From the friendly and responsive communications of the host Herbert, to his recommendations for our travel to the place, he was a joy to work with. The house is wonderful - flexible space for a family of 5, all the household items you'd need and plenty of extras, comfortable beds and furniture...and best of all, a perfect location. Maya Beach is the ideal spot n the openinsula- quiet and central...the Maya Beach Resort is a convenient distance few steps away for great food and kayaks...and the Joya's beach is dreamy, with palm trees and white sand and a lot of space!

Herbert's place was as advertised. He was also very communicative and great to work with.

The house is wonderful. It has that “wow” factor when you walk in with high beamed ceilings and wall to wall windows highlighting the pool and sea view as your back yard. The house was REALLY clean, and had all we needed for the week - from the stocked kitchen with coffee and filtered water jugs to get us started, dishwasher detergent, a washer and dryer with laundry soap available, and no shortage of towels - much appreciated. The wrap around, covered patio gives both bedrooms access to the back yard. It was so nice having a private beach with plenty of coconut trees for shade. Herbert was great. He provided many suggestions ahead of time as well as in the book at the house. I appreciated the attention to safety as well, something you don’t always see in a rental. The area itself is pretty quiet and Placencia is only a short drive, where you’ll find shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed the week and would highly recommend this place!

The pictures do not do the house justice. It’s very spacious and beautiful on the inside and out. Loved every minute of our stay and already planning our next trip next year to go back. The only thing we were a little disappointed about was we were not able to use the beach as we hoped. The seaweed situation was pretty bad, but according to the locals it’s bad this time of year. Hopefully next time it we can plan to go when it’s not so bad. Other than that it was one of the best stays we’ve had in a long while. Herbert was great with any help or questions we had. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

House was wonderful! Location was great. Loved having our own private beach and private pool. The host thought of everything at this house! It was clean and well thought out. The landscaping was beautiful! Host was responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. There were only two of us but the home would be great to share with family & friends

This is a perfect location. Close to local restaurants and accessible to a lot of things to do. Outstanding views and sits right on the beach. Perfect place to watch the beautiful sun rises. We had three couples and this location was an excellent fit. Herbert was an excellent host and had plenty of great recommendations.

The place was so large that our group of four could really spread out. Great for extended stays. Nice to have a few restaurants in walking distance while still being rural.

Amazing time. Centrally located Gorgeous views. Pool is wonderful and so is the kayak. Our 12 time to Maya Beach and this place was fantastic!!

Herbert place was peaceful, clean, and inviting. We all 4 enjoyed our stay and loved being greeted by the local 2 dogs everyday. The morning sunrises were amazing. We took the kayaks out twice in the morning and enjoyed the view and all the beautiful birds feeding in the shallow sea floor while the sunrise glistened. The beach was clean, but everyday plastic would be swept in by the tides. Not a lot and no fault of the host Herbert. My husband and I would pick it up everyday. Only because we are activist about a clean earth. I wish all people would recognize this problem. Thanks Herbert for the great communication and your beautiful home. We all had a great time.

Me and my cousin stayed for about a week and really enjoy ourselves. Very relaxing and lots to do! Host was responsive and gave recommendations/tips. Plan on returning!

The main floor suite at Joya del Mar was fabulous. We had the beach to ourselves, loved the front porch, and really took advantage of the fabulous restaurant at the little boutique resort next door. Highly recommend.

This was our favorite place of the three places we stayed in Belize. Beautiful, comfortable, and so well stocked. Easy access to the beach. Be sure to take a walk north and take out the kayak in the mornings for the calmest water. We were lucky and found manatees one morning. Highly recommend!!

The home offers everything anyone could need from top to bottom. The kitchen is especially well equipped. Very nice having the lower-level kitchen for keeping cold drinks for easy beach and deck access. The exterior area is very well kept including daily pool and beach clearing. Having a washer/dryer to run a load of laundry to head home without dirty clothes in suitcase is a real bonus. The wi-fi encountered a problem that could not be repaired immediately, and Herbert immediately offered generous compensation for the inconvenience. Herbert is an exceptionally responsive host and provides the very best in AirBnB experiences.

I really can't say enough good things about this place. check in was easy, it was clean, great beds, great shower, well equipped kitchen. the beach! feels very private while located on a very walkable stretch. clear water with a sandbar out front. great snorkeling right in front with lots of sea life to watch. very shallow for a long way out. well maintained each day. lovely porches to sit on and enjoy the ocean, even in the rain. fans, air conditioners. close to many restaurants and activities but nestled and quiet. it was perfect for me and my husband and two adult children with their partners. probably not great for young families but so great for us. the hosts are lovely and very helpful and responsive. highly recommend.

Herbert’s place was great! The house is right on the beach and very well-equipped. Especially the kitchen, which was the best-equipped Air BnB kitchen I’ve ever been in! There is a lovely beach right out front with your own chairs and hammock as well as two restaurants within easy walking distance. We saw tons of stingrays and sand dollars (alive) in the waters right out front and parrots visited one day, eating the fruits of a tree on the side of the property. Even though it was a bit rainy when we were there, the stay was peaceful and lovely. We definitely recommend Joya Del Mar to anyone staying with older children (who can stay by themselves upstairs) or other adults.

This is a great place situated right on the beach. The house is set up perfectly for two couples or a family. The house was spotlessly clean, and the grounds and beach were very well maintained. The owner was very responsive to communication. We would highly recommend Marlys Place!

What an amazing home! It was all spotless when we arrived. Directions and check in were easy. The pool was a great place to cool off and relax after snorkel, fishing, Monkey River tours. Several nearby restaurant options, a few less than 1/2 mile away.

we highly recommend Herbert's place. It is very nice everything was perfect as in the offer. Herbert is very proactive and always helpful. Just one small thing you have to be aware of, there is a construction site which is a bit noisy during the day. But Herbert wrote in the offer about it so no complains at all.

It was a great place for our family vacation. Everyone had their own space but plenty of room to all of us to be together too.

Our Special Harbor villa is a great home for a larger group with plenty of space to spread out. We really appreciated 3 bathrooms, 3 queen beds, 1 king bed, 2 full kitchens, 2 large porches and so much more. The beach and pool were taken care of by Teo every morning. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. The upstairs bedroom is open to the living room and the first floor bedrooms can hear walking upstairs very easily. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and under the tiki hut. The double kayaks were fun to use as well. Herbert, the host, is very helpful and responsive. We recommend this home and thank our host for a lovely stay!

We loved our stay at Marly’s Place. Beautiful accommodations and a very responsive and helpful host. We were traveling with another couple and the location was spacious and gave us our own feeling of “space” while still having plenty of common areas to share. Pool was great and we felt we had the best of both worlds with the beach right outside the gate. I will miss the hammock!

The house was beautiful and actually was even better than the photos made it look. The entire property is well kept and clean. The ceiling fan wasn’t working at first and it was fixed within 12 hours of us saying it wasn’t working.

Marly's Place in Maya Beach is absolutely stunning. There are a few great restaurants right there in Maya Beach. I wouldn't call this a walkable area, so it's good to have a car, although the tour companies are good about providing shuttles. It's a ways down to the town of Placencia and the nice beach, but the beach at the house gorgeous although sometimes you have to wade through some seaweed to get to the white sand. The pool is wonderful and the whole vibe of the house and the view is incredible.

This house was perfect and we enjoyed every minute! It was beautifully decorated and felt very spacious. It was extremely clean and very well appointed. Had plenty of towels, tp, and water - which many places do not. The pool was clean and refreshing. We could walk to the little bakery and a few restaurants which was perfect. Highly recommend this house for your stay in Maya Beach. It was a quick drive to Placencia which we enjoyed as well. But of all the places we passed, there was none that would have been more perfect than Marley’s Place. Herbert was very communicative and is super quick to respond to messages. We read about the construction, so we planned our sleep in day on Sunday, then it rained Monday morning so there was no work. We did hear workers on Tuesday morning but we we were up. Our kids in the other bedroom heard nothing and we still had to wake them up to get ready to check-out. Stay here if you will be in the area!! You will love it!

The house was just as described. The host was super responsive. The air conditioning was awesome as it was really hot while we were there. The recommendations for activities were super helpful. Our favorite place for lunch was mariposa, just down the road. Great food, amazing service and right on the beach.

Home was very clean, is beautiful and as described. The home feels very private and has beautiful views of the sea. Pool was perfect. Host was very friendly and responsive. Getting into the sea is a little difficult due to the sea grass. Overall wonderful place.

I stayed here with my boyfriend and two other couples. the space was just what we needed. I big king bed upstairs with a beautiful kitchen and deck was amazing. only thing is it's all open so someone in the living room or kitchen can clearly be heard. not a big deal for me but good to know. the downstairs had two bedrooms, with a small shared kitchen and deck. it was the perfect space for 3 couples or a family. the house was cleaner than expected, obviously well kept. though it's got houses right next to it, we felt pretty much alone. the yard is gorgeous, tons of flowers and the water is swimable and lovely. it's north of the placencia hotel so we weren't able to get a golf cart but the roads are very easy. host is kind and responsive. I will be back!!!!!!

Could not have been happier with our stay. We had three adult couples and the house was a perfect layout. The home is every bit as wonderful as advertised. It is a bit far from town, but that was ok for us. we enjoyed the peacefulness. A golf cart will get you where you need to go. Herbert is extremely communicative, responsive, helpful, and kind. We had a wonderful time here with our friends and hope to be back in the future.

The house is even better than the pictures portray. It was very clean, nicely furnished and had everything our party of 4 needed. Everything was 5 stars. If there was any detractor for our stay it would be the intermittent construction on the home next door, but that was completely out of the hosts control. The host was very responsive and proactive during our entire stay. Highly recommend!

Great place to vacation! We had everything we could have wanted including an awesome view, air conditioning worked well, BBQ worked nice. The area was quiet, we used the plunge pool daily & grounds were nicely maintained. Herbert suggested we rent a car which was spot on due to the location of the home and distance into town or local areas. The setup of the home was perfect for our adult family as kids could sleep in, we did our thing, no one woke anyone. Loved having three bathrooms again everyone had their own and there was no pushing anyone out-big bonus! Herbert went way above and beyond as our host. He connected with us via text when we arrived assuring we had everything we needed and was very responsive to any and all of our questions and requests. Herbert really was fantastic without being intrusive. We would rent this place hands down again..

We had a wonderful stay at Herbert's house. Everyone felt comfortable and because there are basically three separate residential units, we would be independent of each other. The location is great, right on the coconut palm beach and you can get everything you need in the vicinity. Thank you also for the special hospitality. We will be happy to come back!

This house was exactly what we wanted! Very private, peaceful and beautiful home that had everything we needed. Close to good restaurants, a market, and an easy ride to the Placencia Village. Herbert was quick to respond with answers to our questions and gave great recommendations for things to do. If we ever visit Belize again we would definitely try and stay there!

We went to Herbert’s place with three kids: an 18 month old, a 3 year old and a 5 year old and it fit them plus 3 adults very comfortably. The additional room downstairs with a bed worked for naptime given if we were outside we could hear the kids wake up. That being said it was very beneficial to have two kitchens (one downstairs) as we cooked outside everyday whether it was lunch or dinner. The kitchens are very well equipped. The location, once you get there, is amazing. It is secluded and peaceful. There are 3 dogs that roam around so if you don’t like dogs this wouldn’t be the place for you. We love dogs so this wasn’t a problem. The drive from the airport is very easy given there us only one road in really. We were nervous in some parts at first because we weren’t sure if we were getting lost as there are only mile markers on the road generally. Not like in the states where signs are everywhere. Overall we had a wonderful stay at My Special Harbor and would recommend it!

Huge, comfortable and sparkling clean with everything you need, this is a great house. There is even coffee and bottled water so you can start your day on the right foot. We took short walks to eat and get some essentials at the market; enjoyed the view, porch and beach; and had a quiet, peaceful base for our tours. The laundry was very handy after a wet and muddy (but fun!) night tour at Cockscomb basin.

Wow! Beautiful place!! Great location, close to Placencia and also close to take advantage of inland adventures. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Amazing kitchen. Gorgeous decks, pool, outdoor areas. Safe with fences and gates. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen. Couldn’t have picked a better place.

this place knocked it out of the park. it was huge, clean, and just a short distance to town. would recommend getting a rental car, it makes everything 100x easier. would absolutely come back and recommend anyone to stay here! thank you so much for everything Herbert!

Herbert is an amazing host! He is always available, very communicative and gives excellent directions regarding how to get to Belize and to the house itself on placencia. The house looks just like the pictures! It’s very clean, nice, has plenty of towels, bedding, kitchen supplies, etc. It is right on a beautiful beach with stunning views of the ocean! The ocean itself is beautiful, calm, and warm.

We had a truly amazing time staying at Marly's Place. The place was beyond our expectations. Communication with Herbert was excellent. I would highly recommend that you book this place. You will not be disappointed! We are already talking about when we can go back!

The house and location were absolutely perfect for our family of four! We were able to access everything we wanted and needed easily, and it was quiet and peaceful. The house is immaculate and contains everything you could ever need and more. Herbert is a wonderful host and responds promptly! Highly suggest Doyle Gardiner’s tours at Dtourz in Placencia for awesome excursions- our family took three and enjoyed R&R at the house each afternoon/evening! We hope to come back to Belize soon!!

Stunning sunrise views! Very clean home, very comfortable, the kitchen is well supplied with working appliances for your needs, the pool is clean and fun, the beach makes it an easy romantic walk either north or south 100 yards or so for a top notch dining experience all day long. If you are a morning person, don't miss having breakfast (or just coffee) on the balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea, an experience not to be missed! Highly recommend!

As others have said, Herbert is an incredible host! He was quick to answer our questions and solve any potential problems. His recommendations for restaurants in Maya Beach were spot on. Also, he was able to connect us with a boat captain for fishing (we loved being able to cook what we caught!) and snorkeling. We were a family of two adults and two kids, and the house was more than enough for us. We really enjoyed the ocean views from the terrace!

3 couples stayed for nearly a week at this home. Our host was amazingly communicative, responsive and accommodating through messaging. I appreciated the contactless check-in and out. The house was clean, beautiful, well-equipped and private. Beautiful beach and pool. (Watch out for the jellyfish, though) The beds were comfortable and A/C also much appreciated. Kitchen was equipped with all basic necessities. 3 bedrooms with attached bathrooms served us well. The neighbors were all friendly and one of them was kind enough to allow us to respectfully use their dock. The kayaks provided were so fun, also! I’d definitely recommend staying here when booking your stay in Placencia. I also highly recommend hiring a private chef one evening, that was quite a treat. Happy vacationing!

We absolutely loved our time at Marly’s place, our only regret was not staying longer. However long you are thinking of staying add another few days. The house is so beautiful and has everything you could ever need. It’s so peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to town. We had some issues with the fridge during our stay and Herbert was quick to try and resolve the issues. Would highly recommend staying here!

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful house on the beach. Herbert was extremely responsive to our questions and gave us some great suggestions for tours as well as taxi info. The pool was sparkling clean, as was the house. Everything we needed in the kitchen was provided. There is a market just down the street for groceries and various stuff. We tried the restaurants within walking distance including the Green Parrot, The Bbq place, and our favorite the Maya Beach Bistro. Would recommend Doyle at Placencia Tours (his info is in the house guide). We had 3 fun outings with him - Laughing Bird Caye snorkeling, Monkey River Tours, and the Jaguar Preserve walk and river tubing. Fun!

We had an amazing 2 week stay at Our Special Harbour. The house is GREAT and the location is fantastic as well as the white sandy beach. It is really great having 2 fully stocked kitchens! We enjoyed having coffee and cocktails on the rooftop deck. The views from all 3 decks are beautiful! We loved kayaking on calm ocean days and lounging by the pool with a cool drink. Close by are fabulous restaurants and grocery stores for supplies. We especially enjoyed the Catamaran Snorkel Tour with Daytripper and exploring the Mayan Ruins. Herbert is an excellent host and the Caretaker kept the ground and pool in good condition. We highly recommend this home and Placencia!

Don’t hesitate to choose this home. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute. Herbert was a wonderful host and communicated with me all the way through. The house had everything we needed and more. Please show the black Lab, Striker, extra attention. He was a great friend while we were there.

This house was perfect for two adults and three children. The pool was always clean in the mornings as well as the surrounding beach and lawns. Herbert was super accommodating and helpful. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for some R&R on the beach. Close to town and restaurants.

Lovely beach house in the quieter part of the Placencia peninsula. Great restaurants within walking distance.

This place was the perfect vacation rental for four of us.

My family loved our stay here! It was perfect for enjoying the beach, pool and what Placencia has to offer while maintaining privacy. The home is gorgeous and the landscaping around the yard is attractive. My son could not get enough of the pool. I was happy to let him swim all day with the beautiful oceanfront balcony. Again, we loved it!

My family and i had an amazing time. It was peaceful, quiet and exactly what we wanted. I would def. rec. to sme1 else. The area was clean and well kept. I really had no reason to contact the owners because there was no reason to. Everything was working as they should and the time went by very smoothly. The only complaint my family had was, THEY SHOULD'VE STAYED LONGER 😁😁.

LOVE THIS PLACE! It's like your own private resort with a good sized pool that has a deep end and the perfect temperature. Being right on the beach was a true highlight! You can walk to a variety of restaurants and the little market. We rented a car and drove into Placencia(about 15 minutes) to tour the town and drove to tour the jungles(national parks) about 1-2 hours. It was an amazing experience. Friendly people, yummy food, beautiful weather....we absolutely loved it!

Marly’s Place was incredible! It exceeded our expectations and we loved spending a week there. Melissa was beyond helpful with directions and recommendations. We would hands down book Marley’s Place for our next Belize vacation.
