3BR Villa in Mexico City

Not good, 1 month ago

I stayed in August for two weeks. I paid almost 5,700 dollars. Maybe it was expensive because of the World Cup, but I was struck by how messy the house is. The cabinets are full of junk, the kitchen is dirty, there are ants in the garden, and it urgently needs fumigation. Anyway, I appreciate you hosting me, but I wouldn't come back.

This is a spacious property, ideal for a group of people who want to have fun and don’t prioritize amenities. The location in La Condesa was good for many purposes - short walks to parks and restaurants being a few, and we especially liked the bookstore/cafe down the street. Ricardo was polite and attentive and resolved a few initial requests quickly. The home itself was not the cleanest and beds/pillows were somewhat uncomfortable, but if you are willing to overlook these (for us) key considerations, it is a nice place to stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Ricardo's La Condesa home. The location is excellent for walking out of the front door and into the thick of a quiet, yet convenient location for just about anything desired in the neighborhood or nearby neighborhoods. The large scale house amenities were generous and comfortable for our group of 5, multiple of whom are over 6'5" in height. If you're looking for a comfortable rental with the amenities and feel of a home, this is a great choice.

Ricardo has a beautiful home. It is located within walking distance to everything. He is highly responsive. The minor issues we had he took care of immediately. Some were beyond his control. The internet went out but it went out on the block we were on. We informed Ricardo and he was on it and had a technician at the house right away. We were all very pleased with our stay and would stay again. Thanks so much Ricardo for a wonderful experience.

The house was amazing - great space for a large group. The place was very spacious with great outdoor space. The area is quiet but still close to cafes and restaurants.

A lovely, Spanish-styled home with fully equipped kitchen, a stylish high-ceiling living room, a 5 gallon tank of purified water provided, and a nice patio, which we didn't use, in the back. There was one problem, which was the lack of hot water for the first four days. Ricardo attempted to fix it himself, then brought in a plumber, which still didn't fix the problem. Finally, Ricardo brought in a second plumber, who did fix it. Ricardo deserves credit for continuing to follow-up on the problem, but I thought he should have been aware of this problem. Despite this, we enjoyed staying at his house, the location was great. Ricardo was a very hospitable host, met us when our arrival was delayed, and a responsive host. I would recommend his house as a great place to stay, if you can afford the price. I would recommend that Ricardo provide a notebook with recommended restaurants and nearby sites.

We had a wonderful stay at one of Ricardo's properties in Mexico City. Ricardo met us on site to welcome us in even though we arrived after 1am! He coordinated a car service to Teotihuacan and while we got a flat tire on the way, the driver was very kind and knowledgeable. As a family of 5, the space suited us very well and the neighbourhood was perfect. Very quiet in the evenings with little traffic on the street. There was construction going on across the street but we don't sleep in so it was never an issue. Lots to do and see in this neighbourhood and Uber's were quick to pick us up from here. Thank you for a most hospitable stay, Ricardo. Your attention to detail and warm hospitality played a huge role in making it a most memorable trip for all of us.

We enjoyed our stay at Ricardo's home. We loved the spaciousness, giving us lots of common space together, yet allowing us plenty of privacy. The neighborhood is lovely. It's pretty quiet, with plenty of trees, and close to restaurants, shops, and a great bakery right around the corner. We loved having a living room and outside patio to spend time together as a family. The kitchen was relatively well-stocked, but isn't really set up for serious cooking for a group. Finally, Ricardo was an extremely responsive host, which we really appreciated.

We had an amazing 2.5 week stay at Ricardo's home! It is super spacious and perfect for families or groups of friends. The location could not be better -- right in the heart of Condesa with so many coffee shops, restaurants, bakeries, bars, and ice cream shops within a few minutes walking. We were also very close to several parks. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was decently stocked. Ricardo was very responsive if we ever had a question, needed help, or there was an issue at the home -- it was always resolved very promptly. I would definitely recommend this home!

The house is a very lovely townhouse in a wonderful, quiet location. Nicely appointed with comfortable furnishings and interesting art work. I understand many houses in Mexico City do not have central heat, this house does not. In November it got chilly in the house. Prepare to utilize the blankets and wear layers if you are sitting around. We had five adults, we had to be strategic when showering. The back bathroom doesn’t get as much hot water. The front bathroom is newer, and the water is hot. We should’ve asked for a second set of keys. We didn’t realize that was possible. That would’ve made it a little easier for us to coordinate with our groups coming and going. Ricardo was responsive with to questions about the laundry and less so about the water questions. Overall, it is a wonderful place to stay, I would recommend it this home.

Nice location. Lots within a short distance. Some areas to walk not very far.

Host Response

Thank you for your comment on the issue of arrival. I was always in contact with Jennifer and even arrived earlier than agreed with her and the moment she sent me a message at the two minutes I was to receive them again. I appreciate taking into account my house. They will always be welcome

I’ve been to CDMX several times before and Ricardo’s place was by far the best stay as it felt like being right at home with all of its amenities and ease of access to stores and restaurants. Ricardo’s communication was amazing and he had great recommendations and remained available for any questions or concerns. Will definitely be staying here again!!

We came with a group of 7 to Ricardo's and it was a great amount of space for a group of that size. The home itself is fantastic with the right amenities and gorgeous decor. On top of that Ricardo was exceptionally communicative, providing us a second set of keys when asked. There were a couple of small things around cleanliness like general hair and some ants that emerged a couple of days in, but this in no way detracted from our stay or took away from how great the space was. If you're visiting I would highly recommend staying here for easy access to prime Condesa in a quiet and cool space. Thank you so much Ricardo for a wonderful stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Ricardo's place! The home was beautiful, spacious, and incredibly quiet, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. Ricardo was an exceptional host—kind and very attentive to all our needs. He also provided us with some fantastic local recommendations that truly enhanced our experience. I highly recommend staying here if you want a genuine local experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 teens) stayed a week and had a great time. It had everything we needed and even a bonus collection of nice teas. Ricardo was very responsive- even on the holiday. The bedroom with an alcove overlooks the patio, has a Romeo and Juliet window that can be opened to look out over interior (my kids loved this feature), and has the softest beds. This bedroom does not get as dark as the other two but no one had problem with that. The other two bedrooms are on the street side, which I enjoyed, and have very very firm beds. They also can be made very dark if you need that for a good nights rest. Very good location too. The street and entire area are relatively quiet and we walked to dinner spots and the local Walmart grocery (I know I know) everyday. Most our activities were a 10-30 minute Uber ride from there and it took us about 20 minutes to walk to Chapultepec park the one day we decided to do that. I would absolutely recommend.

Very nice appartment, great safe area, Ricardo was helpfull and responsible. Easy check in and check out.

Ricardo is an exceptional host. Our daughter fell ill while we were there and he was generous in extending our stay. We needed laundry detergent and he left some within hours. Needed an extra key - same response. Had some issues with hot water, he offered us access to another place for taking showers. Absolutely great host. neighborhood is lovely too. lots of trees, mostly residential, broad sidewalks (all sidewalks in CDMX need attention while walking and this is no different), always felt safe, several restaurants (though better restaurants in Roma Norte :) would highly recommend this house.

We were a group of four, first time in Mexico City. This was a great spot and Ricard was available and communicative throughout the process. The house easily accommodated our group and had everything we needed. Wonderful touches of Mexican architecture. The neighborhood is quiet and walkable. Ubers are easy and inexpensive to get to the far reaches of the city. There are a good number of very nice restaurants to walk to, some shopping and coffee spots and ice cream. Overall, a really nice stay!

The location of the house was perfect - walkable, peaceful, and very accessible. The house itself while charming can use deep cleaning. The rugs were very dusty and needed to be vacuumed and the cover blanket on the beds looked quite worn out and old. The bathrooms and closets had black mold build up - the musty smell was quite heavy in the closets. If these details are taken care of, the house and the neighborhood is perfect for visitors to this beautiful city. Ricardo is a very responsive host.

Host Response

Thank you very much, I take into account the observations that you tell me and of course they will be resolved. As for the bed blankets, they are zarampahuilas, so their texture and material are not worn. Believe me, they are about 6 months old since they were purchased, but maybe you didn't like their appearance. aspect and I understand it since maybe you don't know that Mexican craftsmanship, again here you have your home

We really like this Airbnb, and as proof, this is the second time we have stayed in it. We plan to stay in it again. The place feels open and airy, with a two story high ceiling in the main room. It has good art and a big dining room table. The living room is comfortable as are the bedrooms. In fact, the whole place feels very comfortable. There are small cafes and shops all around it. One can easily walk to the restaurants and parks in Condessa. We would also go on runs in Chapultapec park. What I appreciate most of all is that the host, Ricardo, is attentive, friendly, punctual, and quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing time at this house in Mexico City. It is beautifully located and there are lots of places to walk to. Ricardo, our host, was very friendly and is a great communicator. He responds immediately to any requests and he even let us put our bags in the house before our actual check-in time, which was super helpful. The place itself was amazing. We stayed there with 7 people (4 adults and 3 kids) and even then it still felt spacious. There are many places to sit and gather indoor, and even another sitting area outdoor in the beautiful courtyard. The house was a rare example of looking and feeling bigger in person than in the pictures. It was well maintained and we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place!

Ricardo's house was nothing short of AMAZING! Upon arrival he was there to greet us and showed our group of 10 around the house. Throughout the week, he was very responsive whenever I had a question. He also gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and drink. In addition to the incredible attention he provided to our group, he was also able to help us get to Xochimilco and back with the help of his friend! If you're staying in La Condesa, I'd recommend ANY of Ricardo's properties because he's nothing short of a top-notch host on this app. If I could, I'd give everything 10 stars, from the space to the experience. This is the place to be and Ricardo is the individual you want to host your stay. 10/10 I would stay again 10 more times.

My friends and I enjoyed staying at Ricardo’s place. It was centrally located and safe. This airbnb was bigger than I had expected. It really felt like home. Ricardo was a clear communicator and was always willing to help, and even suggest things to do, explore, eat, etc. I never felt lost because Ricardo was only a text away and would always have an answer/solution. I would definitely book this again for a group like mine in the future!

Ricardo's place would have been *perfect* if there were some space heaters in the bedrooms and in the common space downstairs. Mexico City was cold during our time there, and there was only one bedroom with a space heater, so the people in other rooms felt uncomfortably chilly. Ricardo's communication was great - he's very fast to respond to emails. He had fantastic recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The location was ideal. We really loved the place - just felt a little bit uncomfortable there at night. (The bed linens are fantastic, though!)

Grateful to have stayed on this property through the Christmas holiday. Location is superb and the home is incredibly spacious and gives an authentic Mexican vibe. The beds were so clean and the house was notably well kept. We felt so safe with our two small children and enjoyed all the amenities that this place and its surroundings offered (esp the beautiful parks). Ricardo was a kind, responsive host. He was flexible through multiple ways, provided a crib, and gave recommendations to enjoy our stay. The only set backs when we arrived included a leaky sink pipe in the bathroom and a microwave that shorted out and broke. The pipe was immediately fixed, however we did not have a microwave for the 5 days we stayed. As noted in the description, there is no heater so it may get chilly for people at night, however there is ample blankets to keep you warm. I would not pass up an opportunity to stay at Ricardo's place again. Overall recommendation: absolutely worth renting.

We had an excellent week staying at Ricardo's house in Condessa while we explored Mexico City just before Christmas. Ricardo's communication is excellent. He was there to meet us when arrived from the airport and lives close by if you need anything. He sent us several long texts with suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Very helpful. The location of this property is absolutely perfect and we were so impressed with the beauty of the leafy green neighborhood. There are so many wonderful restaurants, cafes and parks within walking distance of the house and there is a Walmart Express grocery store a few blocks away that is open quite late if you need to by provisions. As others have mentioned, it does take a few minutes for the hot water to come on for whoever takes the first shower, but it's not a big issue. We had very busy days exploring this spectacular city and it was great to be able to come back to this spacious house and beautiful neighborhood at the end of the day.
