We had a lovely stay. The house is top! And the view is even better. It's a bit tough going up the first time by car, but you quickly get used to it. Everything is within walking distance to the city center. Fun activities in the area! Would recommend to anyone!

An excellent host and a beautiful place surrounded by nature

My friends and I had a great first trip to San Juan Del Sur and staying at Casa Sueños really made the experience. We felt right at home and enjoyed sitting by the pool and on the porch. Rob and Katalina were fabulous hosts. So kind and hospitable.

Spectacular home with an even more spectacular view just a quick walk from the center of town. Our kids (5 and 7) fell in love with the house.

Beautiful colonial-style house with an awesome view of the beach & bay. The kids loved the games, books and open plan living space, which is great for families. The loft bedroom was particularly fun. It’s at the top of a steep drive but not difficult to access. The parking is below the house down some steps, again not an issue but worth being aware of. The local dogs like hanging out on the terrace, they are mostly peaceful and pretty friendly. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Great place with plenty of space

My family and I loved this house. It is exactly as shown in the photos, and even more than perfect. Very clean and extremely well equipped, it met all of our needs. We particularly enjoyed spending time on the balcony admiring the view of San Juan and watching the monkeys. An unforgettable experience! I would 100% recommend this place.

Beautiful house at a unique location. We were welcomed by Kathalina right on the first day, and on the last evening before our departure, she cooked a delicious local meal for us. It was a wonderful time for us in Nicaragua and also to be together with our family. The house was perfect for that.

I spent 2 weeks here and glad I did. Rob was the best owner/manager I have dealt with on airbnb. He was extremely helpful going beyond the call of duty. The security and pool and cleaning staff all excellent. katalina the casa cook can prepare inhouse a traditional meal better and cheaper than many local restaurants. Book without concerns. Everything was great, Rob responded quickly and is a very good host. The Airbnb is fantastic, the view is priceless. I highly recommend the Airbnb, it is especially super well refunded. At check-in, the staff helped us and were super friendly. Just as a note, the entrance to the house is a bit steep which can be a bit difficult for old or people with limited mobility. Airbnb is great everywhere, really mega!

Had a wonderful stay, very quiet and private. The house was clean, very spacious and had all the amenities to make it home. Cooked a lot of meal in the kitchen that was nicely equipped. The view of the beach and surrounding area is amazing, right out of the balcony.

This was an amazing stay. The view is amazing overlooking San Juan del sur but you are still only 10 minutes walking from the town. It feels very private and secluded while still having easy access to the town of San Juan del sur

ThiS was our home for ten days! simply wonderful. For us, four adults, and for our baby and five-year-old daughter! We always walked to the center, which we really liked because it allowed us to come into contact with real San Juaneños. This residence is incredibly beautiful in an incredible location. unfortunately we didn't meet Rob, but we're sure his heart is in the right place. He is very helpful and responds quickly! We could spend our whole lives here :). Thank you, Rob, Catalina and the gardner!!

Robs place. Where do I begin. It was absolutely perfect aside from the check in. The house itself is immaculate. The views, stunning. Once you climb that steep hill you are welcomed to the gates of paradise. The rooms are amazing and the common room is very much appreciated for 5 friends who like to watch movies as a bonding experience. The pool was one of the best swimming experiences of my life and the view. My god the view. 10/10, 24 hours a day, 365. Unfortunately when we arrived at the property management office under instruction to collect the keys we were left in the dark. Fortunately, Catalina was at the location which is 20 minutes away, to let us in. I would recommend this Airbnb but I would advise better communication with regards to accessing the location, but an amazing experience none the less.

We loved this home! Katalina made the stay warm and welcoming, always helping when she could. We would definitely come back, house was well equipped and walkable to town and beaches. Safe and clean, private and charming.

If it’s available on your dates, take it! We had a fabulous family vacation in Casa Sueños, the house definitely deserves the name! It’s very big and spacious and really fun to be in, as a family of six we felt comfortable to hang out together in the balcony, in the living room and around the dining table. Though the house furniture and bedrooms furniture are modest and basic, the kitchen is a kingdom. Very well equipped, big fridge, super big stove, beautiful dishes and plenty of plates, Glasses’s, utensils, pots pans… yes, we had fun cooking, baking and bbq in the balcony. The pool is a gem. It’s a quiet place with infinite views, super relaxing…

I stayed for 2 weeks with a friend and my two children. The house was perfect for our needs, all amenities were in the kitchen. The wifi was good for work but I would have taken a little more power (nothing major). The pool has a breathtaking view of the sunsets. The outdoor terrace was ideal for our late nights when the kids sleep indoors. We also enjoyed the privacy of the 2nd bedroom with its private bathroom. There is enough air conditioning to cool every room of the house. The only problem is really the parking which is a little worked by the rain and often cluttered by the caretakers' motorcycles. Luckily I had a jeep and the caretakers were nice to help me pack motorcycles and chairs so I could get out, I felt bad about constantly disturbing them. I would highly recommend it!

Great option, my family would stay again

Amazing place, comfy and awesome, the house is located up on a hill, which it can be an issue, but other than that, everything was perfect, from the views to the attention from the host.

From booking to leaving Rob had great communication. The views are amazing, great pool, howler monkeys hanging out, nice appliances, awesome grill, hot water showers and the very best housekeeper ever, Katalina. She made sure our every need was met including bottled water. She made us homemade ceviche and guacamole that was very tasty. Just a very sweet lady who became a friend. The hill was a bit tough when coming up in the heat with supplies, but plenty of taxis available. Overall-we didn’t want to leave. 5 weeks flew by! Thanks Rob and crew for a terrific stay.

We stayed at this Airbnb for five weeks, working remotely along with our children. The two best things about this house are: 1) Katalina, the housekeeper. She made our stay so incredible, and looked after us so well. She made sure we always had a clean house, water, cooked food for us, even made my husband some homemade coconut milk because he doesn’t drink dairy.  2) the location. We are a family of four, and rented one car. Because Rob‘s house is walking distance to just about everything, we never had to coordinate too closely because there was freedom to get around if someone else is using the car. You could stay here without a car entirely, it is easy to walk to several shuttle stops in town that will take you to the beaches. But it was really nice to have a car, because we explored quite a bit of the area surrounding San Juan, and even did a few overnight trips, of which there are many options. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place and view- both from the balcony area and pool. Things to note: Friendly and gentle dog who regularly appears and will try and get into the place Hot water was inconsistent- however we didn’t contact Harry or Rob about this so partially our fault If you book a tour through Rob, just make sure to ask for details/ questions as we had a misunderstanding with ours though I’m sure it’s usually very good. Check-in was tricky initially as the agency to pick up keys was closed even though we were within the correct time window. However Rob was extremely quick to respond and got us in another way really quickly and easily. The view obviously means it’s a bit of a walk up a hill and, like much of Nicaragua, the road/ parking spot is a bit rough. So if you have any less-abled then might be a little harder to get into town. None of this should put you off as it’s a really great place and Rob was a good host and I would definitely recommend.

Casa Suenos is the place to Stay! We are a family of six that travel frequently and Rob's recommendations were extremely helpful to assist in planning our trip to Casa del Sur. Caterina was absolutely amazing. She, along with Harry, communicated with us on our arrival day. They met us at the house to make sure that all our needs were met. Caterina assisted us with our laundry (this was our third location in Nicaragua). While we were away, Caterina delivered our clothes and she noticed that the hot water heater failed and flooded one of the bathrooms. She cleaned the affected areas and had the hot water replaced immediately. When we arrived that evening, everything was clean and in working order. Harry connected us with a local horseback riding guide and we had an amazing experience riding horses on the beach. The house was clean, the A/C worked extremely well, and the location has a beautiful view and very peaceful. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!!

Robs place was fantastic, a great deal, close enough to town to walk down and walk around but far enough away to be more peaceful and feel safe with the security guard and gate right there. we have stayed in sjds a few times before and robs place will be the place we return to if available.

Rob's place has breathtaking view of San Juan del Sur! Rob was really informative and easy to communicate with. The pool is shared but we didn't have the opportunity to meet our neighbors during our short stay. Super clean, quiet, and relaxing house for a group.

The place is on an uphill so if you have family members who can’t walk as much, I don’t recommend. But else, you will have a beautiful house with great hosts and worth a million view and pool. Rob’s place was amazing! My friends and I loved the place! Everything worked, the AC amazing and the overall experience vas outstanding! The only thing I would give constructive feedback is in the check in process, we had to contact another person to get the keys to the place and the person wasn’t responding! Besides that, everything was amazing!

I think most of the other reviews have the place pretty well covered but I’ll still leave some comments here. The “hill” is not that bad. It’s pretty steep (and my buddy did wreck his motorcycle on it… blame inexperience for that) for about 300’ but really not much to note. It’s got easy access to town whether you’re walking or riding/driving. The home sits just above the guard station so it does feel secure and there is someone there 24/7. The view is really nice and the two bedrooms are really nicely situated of the front deck. The pool is great and so are the neighbors it’s shared with. Watch out for mosquitoes up there, they are silent and deadly! Katalina is truly wonderful and so sweet. We had her cook us two wonderful meals which were some of the best meals we had and definitely better than most of the restaurants around town. Rob was a great host, quick to respond and very helpful with our questions and shenanigans. Would definitely stay here again.

good location to town. host and everyone local were great. highly recommend letting katalina cook for you. other than Cascada best food in town. accomodations were good too. hot water and pressure were good. and in nica thats not that easy to come by all the time. would def stay again.

This place is exceptional. The location is perfect if you want to be close to town but not so close to all the action and noise. Easily walkable to all the spots if you don’t mind the uphill on the way home. If you don’t like walking up the hill, grab a cab; it’s a dollar a person. The pool is kept immaculate on a daily basis and the grounds are well looked after. The pool is also above average size for the area which is great. The home is well outfitted with everything you need in the kitchen as well as rooms. Great kitchen to cook in. Air conditioning works very well. The hammocks all over the property are just perfect for relaxing in and are in the shade for most of the day. The outdoor dining area is so cool and offers a great sanctuary to hang with family and friends. Wifi is strong and there is a great bise Bluetooth speaker. The best part of this place is Catalina. She cleaned out our house once a week and cooked dinner twice a week for our entire 3 month stay. Her food is the best in San Juan del sur and after travelling all over Nicaragua, it holds up everywhere. Lobster, shrimp, steak, organic chicken, amazing rice dishes, scalloped potatoes, and fresh fruits and vegetables, she can cook anything you ask and will accommodate dietary requests as well. She also handled all of our laundry the entire time; we didn’t fold anything once in 3 months. And not a single piece lost. Also, if you need massage or manicure or pedicure she will arrange the service right to the house. She helped arrange various activities as well like surfing and hikes and other things. We partook and her people were very good. She was exceptional with our kids and wish we could take her home with us! Use her services, you won’t regret it. Rob provides recommendations on anything and everything and will also help arrange any logistics required. Great host. This place is perfect and we will be back. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Casa Suenos and in Nicaragua in general. We didn’t know what to expect in Nicaragua, but it was easy to travel in and around and everyone was friendly. Katalina was as amazing as the previous reviews have stated. Her cooking was the best food we had in Nicaragua and she arranged for us to have massages at the house. We recommend you try it! The pool was a hit with the kids and was so convenient. We could walk to the beach/into town.

We loved the house. It has a very nice view of the village and the sea. Walking in 10 minutes you are in the very center of SJDS . It has basic amenities, good AC, and even a grill. For families or groups of friends it is excellent. You can rest and sleep really well.

The house is extremely equipped, ideal for walking with the family just like we did. The location is excellent and with a wonderful view.

Rob's place was the perfect spot for our New Year's Eve trip! The house was located just outside downtown San Juan but close enough to walk (~15 minutes). The house was very clean and nicely decorated, and had most of the kitchenware you would need to prep a quick breakfast or lunch. You cannot beat the view from the infinity pool!! It is truly breathtaking! Just be careful heading up to the pool because it's a bit of an incline and there are no handrails. Finally, Rob had the best team in San Juan taking care of us - Catalina was so warm and welcoming at check in, she provided wonderful tips about things to do in San Juan, and she was readily available when we had questions or requests. We had already planned our meals so we didn't get to hire her cooking services, but we'll definitely do so the next time we visit!!

We stayed here for four nights at the end of the December and found Rob's place a great choice for a family or group of friends. There are two private bedrooms, a mezzanine above the main room (accessed by ladder and separated with a curtain) plus three beds in the common area, which are great for relaxing. The hammocks outside were also very popular in the day, but with the insects at night we didn't use them. The road up from town was quite steep but we never walked it as we mainly drove to other beaches. We only used the pool once but it's a spectacular setting. The view was amazing from the main room and the fully-fitted kitchen was very useful.

House was beautiful, family loved the extra space and pool. The house is located on a hill and there is a steep incline to get to the pool which makes it dangerous when walking back wet, definitely needs handrails. Besides that the house was lovely and comfortable.

We loved our stay at Casa Suenos! The house is nicely laid out and very well stocked. Very, very clean! Grounds and pool were well looked after. Air conditioning worked well. Comfortable beds. Good water pressure for the showers. The front porch offers a great view of the bay; the rocking chairs and hammocks there quickly became our favourite place to hang out. The icing on the cake was Katalina. She cooked 2 fantastic meals for us. Arranged massages. Stopped by on occasion to check on us. Made sure we had water. And a nice person! Rob, the owner, was also great to deal with. He was prompt to respond to our questions and very professional.

What a great home base from which to enjoy San Juan del Sur! From check in to check out everything was simple and convenient. We booked the same day we arrived and Rob’s instant replies really helped to ease the stress of a last minute booking. When we arrived at the property it was immediately clear that this was actually someone’s home rather than the ever-more-common Airbnb business property. Sure, the properties that are purpose built for short term rental will have the basics, but a real home has the subtle details that make a vacation great. Books, games, movies, kitchen utensils, and every appliance you could possibly need are all available. There’s even a junk/utility drawer where we found a pair of much needed scissors. The location is perfect. It was nice to not spend time or money on taxis. Security is excellent thanks to the 24 hour guard right below the house and the alarm system. One of our kids accidentally hit the panic button and armed guards arrived within minutes. The pool is shared with another home, but we always had it to ourselves. We have no complaints at all, but the only things I’ll mention that some people may be more picky about are: There are some steep walkways that may be tough for people with mobility issues, noise from the loft travels to the room below, and the beds aren’t luxurious. Again, none of those issues were significant to our group, but are good to know if you are picky. The staff was terrific! I’d go back again just for a chance to chat with Catalina. All in all, our experience at Casa Sueños was a model Airbnb experience. What a great base of operations to enjoy San Juan del Sur! From check-in to check-out, everything was simple and convenient. Casa Sueños was awesome and Rob was a great host. The location was the perfect amount outside of the bustling downtown, but close enough to still feel like were part of it. Rob's communication about questions, recommendations, and transportation were all on point and very helpful. SJDS was amazing and we'd definitely come back.

Casa Suenos is the perfect spot if you want to enjoy the area. So many nice beaches to visit close to SJDS. I would recommend to have a vehicle but it’s also great if you don’t mind walking around. It’s private, modern, clean and there are all the amenities you need for a confortable stay. The pool is awesome.

We had an amazing time and we were wonderfully taken care of while we stayed at Rob’s place. We decided to hire Kathalina for the kitchen work and we are very happy we did. Simply put: Rob's place is incredible. Our group was 9 people in our early 20s. The space was very comfortable for a group of that size and certainly would be for a smaller group. We found the house to be perfectly located. There is a steep hill to climb when coming from town, but you're rewarded with a wonderful view of the bay and privacy. The house has great common areas, a stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The hammocks and infinity pool offer great spaces to relax after a big day of being out at the beaches. The best part about Rob's place may be Katalina; the cook available for hire. We had her cook dinner for us most nights and were very impressed by the quality of the food. Her food is delicious and she is willing to accommodate dietary restrictions and each group's preferences for meals. She also would bring a jug of purified water to the house everyday and the value of that can't be overstated. We can not say enough about how kind and talented this woman is. We recommend hiring her for at least a few of your meals during your stay at Rob's place. We were very impressed by how helpful Rob was before and during the trip. He was responsive, had great tips and was more than happy to answer any questions we had for him. Absolutely no complaints about this place or Rob. We highly recommend staying here on your visit to Nicaragua.

The house was perfect for the 6 of us, plenty of space and well equipped kitchen for us all to cook. Spent a lot of time at the beautiful pool. Rob was very helpful with anything we needed. Definitely would stay here again next time!
