The Space
PuraVida is located on Langosta Beach, just south of Tamarindo. It offers easy access to various excursions while being only a short beach walk from town, ideal for peaceful low-tide strolls. The unit comfortably accommodates guests with one bedroom featuring a California King bed. The additional living area can house friends or family on a separate bed, though it is not well-suited for another couple wishing to share a bed.
This spacious, ground-level unit is part of Bahia Langosta, a secure gated community with 24/7 security. The complex is beachfront and adjacent to an ocean-fed estuary, providing excellent opportunities for kayaking, boogie boarding, surfing, swimming, fishing, and sunbathing. The unit has tile floors throughout to maintain a cool atmosphere and granite countertops in the kitchen. It also includes a private patio that opens directly to the pool and lounge area.

We understand that arrival and departure times may require flexibility. Requests for changes will be considered and usually accommodated for a small fee. Please provide your check-in details in advance for security purposes, as the gated community is carefully managed.
Note that while the property shares grounds with the Occidental Hotel (formerly Barcelo), it operates independently.
Location and Nearby Amenities
- The Occidental Hotel next door offers an all-inclusive buffet with unlimited food and drinks for approximately $30 USD, considered a great value.
- Langosta Sports Bar is a nearby local venue offering casual dining and a fun atmosphere within walking distance.
- The neighborhood is upscale and safe, with many owner-occupied homes. Occasionally, you might spot celebrities such as Harrison Ford or Bette Midler during your walks.
Additional Information
Adventure tours departing from the Barcelo Hotel next door include activities like zip lining, rafting, horseback riding, and visits to hot springs.
Transportation options include the Costa Rica tourist network "Interbus," which can be booked online or through Tamarindo Shuttles offices.
Please note that as of 2020, a new Costa Rica VAT tax of 13% on the total stay will be collected upon arrival by the on-site property manager.

I’ve been visiting Costa Rica since 2015. This is by far one of my favorite places to stay. I will definitely be going back. The location is perfect. About 100 yards to the beach another hundred yards to a surfable spot sunsets out of this world the restaurants especially Walters fish and cheeses is amazing. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. The host Jean very friendly very helpful. Thank you again.

unfortunately pool was under renovations so most of the time not usable and the noise factor was disruptive.

Perfect beachfront stay! The apartment was clean, cozy and easy beach access. Family-friendly and welcoming, it truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay!! At no fault of Gail Jean, the pool was under repair and she worked so hard to create other options for us so we could enjoy a pool. 100% recommend!

Great choice of accommodation due to its proximity to the beach and pool, you are literally meters away from reaching one of the best beaches in Costa Rica (Playa Langosta). The apartment has AA, which is ideal for the high temperatures in the area. The kitchen is an additional plus, this had all the elements to prepare breakfast & Cenas. Finally, the location of the apartment is in an area with very good options for Restaurants, and outdoors activities. I'd like to go back to this apartment.

Wonderful private community with fellow residents and guests. We were at first surprised that the resort next door has daily musical performances that carry over to this condo complex, but we took it all in stride as did everyone else there by doing the daily macarana performance. As one fellow guest said, "you always know it is 3:00 oclock when the macarana comes on next door".

We had a wonderful one month stay. The unit is great location with beautiful pool. It’s an easy walk to beach and estuary. The unit has a comfortable bed, great A/C and washer/ dryer. We can’t wait to return.
