The Space
Stay in a renovated and rebuilt 1940s house located in Barrio Escalante, just minutes from downtown San José. Your accommodation is a recently constructed annex separate from the main house, situated next to the laundry and storage room, and overlooking the backyard.
This private bedroom includes a half bathroom and offers a cozy yet modern atmosphere. When not listed on Airbnb, the room serves as an artist residency space connected to our multidisciplinary art platform, satisFACTORY, which is located next door.
As a curator, I invite guests to view this space as a gateway to a unique side of San José, rich with local culture and experiences. The environment is lively, often hosting artists, photographers, designers, and local art professionals.
My housing project consists of three parts: two commercial spaces at the front and a two-story house built adjacent to them. Next to my home is satisFACTORY, a local art and design venue that I curate and manage. Additionally, a superfoods and juice bar is located nearby.

This is such an exquisite home, every detail is thoughtfully curated and I felt as though our bedroom was an extension of the home's artistic space and the neighborhood's energy. Cozy, clean, peaceful, and I loved the hammock in the garden.

Erika is a really amazing host! Our flight didn’t arrive until so late and she really went above and beyond to accommodate that as well as recommend so many amazing places to check out in San Jose. The space is so beautiful and cozy and it feels like a really positive and creative space to get to rest in. The gallery she curates is also incredible and really made for such an inspiring and nice start to our trip. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here. Miigwetch Erika!

Such a lovely place to stay! The hosts were extremely kind and always willing to help, plus their dog was just the sweetest girl ever. The location is beautiful and pretty quiet for how close it is to attractions and restaurants. 11/10!
