Acerca de Casa Van Wilpe
Casa Van Wilpe es una de las casas más antiguas construidas en la remota playa de Nosara. Fue diseñada por la reconocida pareja de arquitectos e ingenieros costarricenses Julia y Derk Van Wilpe, quienes también planificaron la distribución de Playa Guiones.
Construida con materiales de origen local, la casa refleja una filosofía centrada en el respeto por la naturaleza y el medio ambiente.
Ubicación
La casa está ubicada en el centro de Guiones, a cinco minutos a pie de la entrada norte de Playa Guiones. Hay restaurantes, un minisúper, clases de yoga y lugares para practicar surf a poca distancia caminando.
El espacio
Los huéspedes tienen uso exclusivo de todo el piso superior, al que se accede por una entrada privada. El espacio incluye:
- Dos dormitorios, cada uno con baño completo privado
- Una sala
- Una cocina abierta
- Amplias terrazas delanteras y traseras
- Una cama matrimonial en cada dormitorio
- Hasta dos camas individuales plegables, disponibles previa solicitud
Acceso de los huéspedes
Hay una ducha exterior disponible para enjuagarse la arena después de regresar de la playa.
Los huéspedes también pueden explorar el jardín debajo de los árboles altos. Los mangos abundan alrededor de marzo, y los huéspedes pueden recogerlos y disfrutarlos.
Otros aspectos importantes
No espere todas las comodidades a las que podría estar acostumbrado si proviene de un país más desarrollado.
- Ocasionalmente ocurren cortes de electricidad, pero el servicio suele restablecerse rápidamente.
- El tanque séptico no puede recibir papel higiénico.
- La comida que se deje descubierta puede atraer hormigas y otros insectos.
- El pueblo comenzó a crecer rápidamente después de la pandemia, lo que provocó un aumento de la construcción, el tráfico y los delitos menores.
- Manténgase alerta, actúe con buen criterio y respete la cultura local.

The house is spacious and in a wonderful, perfect location. Older house, comfortable, with air conditioning that works well, which is really important. It could have a microwave or a milk jug for heating milk. In general everything is very nice. The location is even better than the house, so it's really worth it! We saw monkeys, iguanas, squirrels. Lots of trees!!

This is a unique old house with rustic charm and a wonderful big balcony on the second floor for hanging out. It has an unconventional floor plan, in that each of the rooms is separate; you get from one to the other via the balcony. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and an a/c unit. This was a great arrangement for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers). My husband loves modern design and appreciated its architectural features: the exposed rafters, the cantilevered roof with clerestory windows, the decorative wood framing in the kitchen. The house has a great central location in Nosara near Playa Guiones - a bustling neighborhood during the day but quiet at night, and just a five minute walk to the beach. The downstairs neighbors (and their dogs) were friendly and helpful. Lovely sunsets, great surfing, and numerous jungle trails were some of the highlights of our visit!

We enjoyed our stay and the place is very unique, with original details. A special highlight was sweet Cosi, puppy, who lived downstairs ❤️ To note: - This is shown in the listing, but it's important to know that all rooms are separate and accessed from the balcony/ deck area. - The AC worked well in each individual room. - The common area is the big dining table and small kitchen or the outside couch area shown (make sure you have mosquito repellent 🦟!) - Good spot for location and access to the beach. - Limited cooking options, a cooktop, no oven.

Couldn’t be a better location. Loved staying in this original home and spending time on the deck outside. Would definitely stay here again! Great communication with Andres.

Great location, walking distance to the beach, makets, restaurants. comfortable bedrooms both with good bathrooms. I only wish the kitchen was a little bit more equipped. I recommend this place
