Villa Serenidad is a spacious, 2,200-square-foot, pet-friendly bungalow that combines authentic Costa Rican charm with a peaceful setting. The home sits on a quarter-acre lot just two doors from the ocean, with ocean views from the laneway.

Enjoy exclusive use of the property, including the large private yard and a brand-new, 25-by-13-foot custom pool with a tranquil waterfall. Fiber-optic high-speed Wi-Fi helps you stay connected while you embrace Costa Rica’s pura vida lifestyle.

The Space

As one of the largest homes in the community, Villa Serenidad offers plenty of room for families, children, and pets. The expansive backyard provides a safe place for kids and pets to play.

The villa is an original build with plenty of character. Although some features are older rather than modern or luxurious, the home is thoughtfully maintained, clean, and filled with authentic Costa Rican atmosphere.

Pura vida represents a simple way of living that focuses on quality time with loved ones. Hard-water marks or rust on glass and fixtures are common in rural Costa Rica and are not signs of neglect. Guests are encouraged to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and embrace the natural character of the area.

Nature and Wildlife

The community is surrounded by abundant wildlife. During your stay, you may see:

• Howler monkeys and their babies moving through the trees
• Scarlet Macaws supported by a local conservation program
• Whales breaching in the bay, where they come to give birth
• Baby sea turtles being released through Tambor Bay Turtle Rescue
• Jungle insects, geckos, crabs, plants, and other tropical wildlife

The Beach

An 8-kilometer secluded sandy beach is located nearby. Because it sits within a cove, the beach has calm, gentle waves that are ideal for swimming, walking, and relaxing.

The beach is often quiet enough to feel completely private. Local kayaking companies also offer opportunities to explore hidden beaches and experience the coastline from the water.

Montezuma

Santa Teresa is Costa Rica’s surfing capital, offering world-class surfing lessons, trendy restaurants, and lively shopping.

After exploring the surrounding area, return to Villa Serenidad and enjoy the sunset from the quiet, peaceful beach.

Guest Access

Guests will receive access through a lockbox and code, allowing arrivals to be coordinated at any time.

• On-site laneway parking is available for one car.
• Additional vehicles may park on the road or near the security guard entrance.
• Guests have full access to the community and its amenities during their stay.
• The second door near the entrance leads to private storage and is not accessible to guests.
• This private storage area does not affect the villa’s three-bedroom, three-bathroom layout.

Optional access to Barceló Tambor Resort is available for an additional fee. The resort is located just up the beach.

Important Information

Costa Rica is a biodiverse environment, so encountering plants, animals, insects, geckos, and other wildlife is part of the experience. No jungle home is completely free of visitors, but keeping food stored and dishes and counters clean can help reduce ants and geckos.

The villa is more than 30 years old and has been lovingly maintained, though it shows its age in places. Guests may notice:

• A dated kitchen
• Hard-water stains on toilets and shower glass
• Some exterior rust caused by the salt air
• Occasional jungle visitors, including insects, geckos, and crabs

These features are part of the home’s character and its natural setting.

Community Updates

The clubhouse is currently being renovated. The on-site store has moved to the Azul del Mar area within the community.

Essentials

• Sheets and towels are provided for use in the villa only.
• Guests should bring their own beach and pool towels.
• Pets are welcome. Please clean up after them and ensure they do not cause damage.
• The smart television provides access to Netflix and other services; guests must use their own login credentials.
• Unlimited fiber-optic high-speed Wi-Fi is available.
• Tap water is fresh and safe to drink, supplied directly from the mountains.
• Garbage and recycling are collected daily by noon, except on Sundays.
• A glass and plastic recycling depot is a two-minute walk away.

Holiday Policy

Due to a previous negative experience, early check-ins and additional guests are not permitted during holiday periods.

This is not a party house, and the maximum occupancy is eight people.
