Villa Macaw

This is the PERFECT place for our family of 5! Everyone had a huge room, bathroom and plenty of space! Great location but what made it perfect was the service from Mauricio and the young lady maintaining the house. Clean beds, laundry. 100/10 recommend to all!

Hands down best Airbnb experience I have ever had. Pictures don’t do justice to the peacefulness you will feel at this house. Everything is immaculate, fantastic service, great views! It was our first time visiting Manuel Antonio, loved the area. Can’t wait to go back!

Our family had an amazing stay! The home was beautiful, spotless, and even better than the photos. We loved seeing toucans, monkeys, and scarlet macaws right from the property, making every day unforgettable.

The highlight was our host, Mauricio. He is, without question, the best Airbnb host we’ve ever had. His communication was outstanding, he arranged excursions, gave excellent restaurant recommendations, and was always available to help. He truly went above and beyond to make sure our vacation was perfect.

A special thank you to Elena, who kept the home immaculate every day, handled laundry and dishes, and made us feel completely at home. Her kindness and hard work made our stay even more relaxing.

If you’re visiting Costa Rica, book this home without hesitation. We can’t recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to return!

The home was the highlight of our trip! Our group of 9 loved spending time by the pool, having coffee on the balcony in the mornings waiting for the monkeys to arrive which they did almost everyday. We saw macaws, green parrots, geckos and iguanas. The entire home was squeaky clean and comfortable, the beds were especially comfortable. The a/c units worked perfectly to keep the entire home cool. The daily made service was an unexpected luxury. The staff is friendly and efficient. We stayed four nights and wished we could have stayed longer.

Very beautiful place to stay.

Villa Macaw was absolutely incredible for our group of 8! The house was immaculate and comfortable with space for everyone. The views of the ocean, mountains and many beautiful tropical birds were stunning. The location was perfect to explore Manuel Antonio, go ziplining, and hike to Nauyaca Falls. And the service was impeccable. Mauricio was patient, helpful, and flexible with all of our questions and late arrival, and Sandra and her team were at the same time unintrusive and attentive. We had two AWD rental cars and although the road was steep and twisting, we made it up just fine and had room to park. We felt very lucky to be able return to such a refreshing pool and gorgeous house after our daily adventures! Thank you for opening up your home to us!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time at Mauricio's place. The home is amazing! Spectacular views, all amenities, plenty of space, clean, spacious. Pool is fabulous! it was exactly as described and Mauricio was a great host. Would love to stay here again.

Mauricio's place looked like what was shown in the pictures. The description on the web-site was accurate. We had a pleasant stay and Mauricio communicated very well with us during our stay. We would recommend this place to other guests. Note that you will need a car or taxi to go to the town or beaches. Mauricio was able to arrange a taxi for us whenever we needed it.

Location is great but make sure you’ve got a four-wheel-drive vehicle to get up to the house.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. The place was beautiful and overlooked a beautiful backdrop. There were animals all around, night and day, and it was very close to both Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The host, Mauricio, was very responsive and had wonderful recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!

A Perfect Stay for Our Group of 10

Villa Macaw was an incredible home base for our group of 10. The villa was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time in Quepos / Manuel Antonio . We never felt crowded—everyone had space to spread out and unwind.

One of the biggest highlights was Sandra, who came daily to take care of cleaning and laundry. She was friendly, professional, and made our stay feel truly luxurious.

The pool was perfect for cooling off during the day, and the view was absolutely breathtaking—we could see and hear the vibrant sights (saw three Macaws, no monkeys) and sounds of Quepos from the villa, which added a unique charm to the experience.

Yes, the road up to the house is steep, but it's absolutely worth the climb. Once you're up there, it feels like a private oasis in the hills.

Would highly recommend Villa Macaw for groups or families looking for comfort, great service, and unforgettable views. We'd definitely come back!

Mauricio went above and beyond to help plan and coordinate our trip prior to arrival and throughout our trip. Once arrived at the villa, we were greeted by Mauricio and the lovely private chef who cooked us a delicious meal. We loved every moment of our stay at Villa Macaw - from the spacious and clean interiors to the outdoor deck/pool surrounded by lovely birds and forest. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Villa Macaw! From start to finish, Mauricio was incredibly responsive and made everything seamless. His recommendations for a private chef, transportation, and tours were all excellent, making our trip even more special. The daily maid service was a huge plus, keeping everything clean and comfortable.

The home itself is perfect for families and large groups, with plenty of space and a beautiful setting. One of the highlights was spotting a sloth right outside the window - such a memorable experience!

HIGHLY recommend Villa Macaw to any large group groups of family or friends looking to retreat to paradise! This place was spectacular, plus Mauricio and his exceptional concierge service allowed for the smoothest trip for a wide range of ages (1 to 70 something year olds). His constant communication and arrangement of private driver transfers between locations, tour booking, private chef, taxis, groceries -- you name it, Mauricio does it all. The house and amenities were great and allowed a relaxing place to unwind and observe nature. We'd love to come back again; no feedback - keep it up!

Wow! I am rarely left without words, but here goes: our stay at Villa Macaw was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared—just show up with your clothes! It’s not your typical Airbnb where you haul supplies & do chores. Our fantastic concierge (Mauricio), greeted us at almost midnight (late flight) for a full tour & promptly answered every Whats App message for our entire trip. As first-time visitors to Costa Rica, his help was invaluable—from arranging taxis & private chefs to having our water pump fixed within an hour on a Sunday. Our housekeeper (Sandra), was the best, arriving daily to clean, make beds, wash dishes, and wash/fold our laundry. The property itself is stunning—pictures don’t do it justice. A heads-up: the hills to access the property are steep w/ sharp turns. I recommend seeing it in person before deciding whether to rent a car. We left it to the professionals! Thanks again, Mauricio, everything was flawless!

Great place. Beautiful views. Sometimes taxis were hard to get and some of them won’t go up the steep hill. Bigger parties will often need 2 taxis or more if it’s a large party. Lots of restaurants close by! Some of the excursions were better than others. Lots of wildlife!! Mauricio helps coordinate everything. The cleaning lady is super sweet and helpful. Overall great stay!

Beautiful house, everything was perfect. The view was breathtaking and the pool so enjoyable with the hot weather. We even had a sloth in a nearby tree during the whole stay. I highly recommend this place!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Macaw. I highly recommend having a car, because it’s very steep up the hill and I wouldn’t want to walk it, although cabs are easily called and will come up the hill.

Mauricio was awesome. He was very response and helpful. He helped us plan a private chef for 2 nights and the food was delicious. He checked in with us quite often to make sure everything was good. He told us about places to eat and activities. He has a list of activities to do in the area from fishing to ATV rides to waterfalls. The house was amazing and looks just like the pictures. It’s one of the nicest vacation homes we have stayed in. Can’t wait to come back! Pura Vida!

We loved our stay! Perfect set up for two families. Great outside areas for enjoying the pool and the gorgeous view. Mauricio was very helpful and responsive. Sandra was also amazing around the house.

After my family’s 2 week journey around Costa Rica and Panama this property was our last leg of the journey and I’m glad we saved the best for last! Greeted by monkeys upon arrival where Mauricio & house keeper where waiting to show us around the pristine and breathtaking property. The details to make sure your stay is comfortable and fun made it even more special. Worth every penny! Not one negative thing I can say except wish we stayed longer! 4 days was just not enough for all the amazing things to see and do in Manuel Antonio and Quepos! The wildlife that we felt was at our finger tips the whole time was our favorite, we felt like the luckiest family in the world! My kids haven’t stopped talking about the McCaw house to everyone since we’ve been back (2 teenagers so NOT usually easy to impress lol) they had so much fun bonding together in the pool & we all cuddled after on the comfy couch and watched movie and had popcorn. This house creates an atmosphere that creates bonding

This home and the services and people that come with it are almost beyond words to describe. My entire family was blown away by the views, the sunsets, the house itself, and the help and support we received throughout our stay made it one of the most magical trips we've ever taken. We loved the location as it was easy to get to Quepos or Manual Antonio or to do nothing and take in the experience of the house high on the hill. Mornings and sunsets on the decks were exceptional and our family had ample room to gather or have some alone time. I cannot say enough about Mauricio though, as he served as a personal concierge every day for us and without him, the experience would have still be great, but he made it over the top and easy by caring for us the entire time - making dinner recommendations / reservations, setting up outings, and generally checking in to make sure everything was perfect. If you can get this place do it - we feel grateful for our time in Villa Macaw.
