This house truly feels like a little slice of paradise. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by nature. In the morning, I was already sitting on the terrace at 5 a.m., in complete peace and quiet, birdwatching as the birds came almost all the way into the living room. Other animals also made an appearance; it felt like we were allowed to be part of the jungle for a while. Everything was just as it should be: the sounds, the movement, even the insects. It made the experience complete and real. The house itself is beautiful, cozy, and has everything you need. You can feel that care and attention have gone into it. The hostess was very warm and provided clear explanations, which immediately made us feel at ease upon arrival. We absolutely love this place and the area. This is one of those places where you don’t just stay, but you really experience something. We will definitely be back here.

Ryan’s place is everything you need for a few days in beautiful surroundings full of wildlife, and I could easily spend months there! It is a a piece of heaven indeed! Ryan was always responsive, and made our stay in the area much better with his helpful advise and the excellent local wildlife guide he recommended!

This off the beaten path (but still accessible) house was a perfect perch in the jungle for our family of 4. We were very comfortable in the beds, the house was spacious, the care takers on site were lovely, and the canopy views from the deck were the best part! The serene setting helped us settle in after long travel days and we drop right in to the heart of the forest. Highly recommend. Must have 4 wheel drive.

The accommodation is spacious and very clean and atypical: totally open to the lush nature that surrounds it (mosquito nets at the openings). At the height of the trees we saw capuchins and saïmiris in the morning and also a couple of toucans and several red macaws. In the evening you should not be afraid of insects! But the sounds of the forest lull us all night... total immersion in the tropical forest! We were able to cook and the bathrooms were perfect. Ana and her husband were very welcoming, knew how to remain discreet and advised us on the best beaches: the colibri beach is a real paradise! Finally, Ana's garden is full of exotic flowers and she will not hesitate to let you taste specialties!! Thank you for having us!

The views and nature around this property were awesome. We saw toucans (including the fiery billed aracaris) hopping around and flying close by and several pairs of scarlet macaws flying passed every day. The sounds of the forest were a revelation and added so much to our experience. If you go I'd recommend just hanging out for as much time you can on the balcony taking in the views and sounds. Bring a pair of binoculars and see if you can match the different calls to the various animals. This is a wonderful place if you want a few slow days and to just take it all in.

If you want to unwind in the jungle, this is it. The house is beautifully built and you have an amazing view of untouched jungle. This is off the grid in a good way. We loved Ana and Juan, the caretakers. My friends stayed here before and mentioned that Ana cooked for them and taught them, too. When I told her I was interested in learning some dishes, I went to the grocery store with her and then she taught me a new Costa Rican dish each night as she cooked dinner for my family. It was so fun. Ryan was great to communicate with—gave great recommendations for things to do in the area. I loved the sounds of the jungle all the time. There is no TV which I liked. My husband and four kids played games at night instead. We also had every beach to ourselves. We didn’t see any other tourists except at the supermarket and down near matapalo. All the beaches were empty with just my family all day. What a great experience.
