The property offers a beachfront location on a two-acre tropical garden where you can enjoy sightings of toucans, green macaws, howler monkeys, and hummingbirds. Every detail is designed to help you unwind while listening to the waves and the sounds of the natural environment.
This house carries a rich history. It was once a winter haven for Maurice Strong, attracting famous guests including politicians and business leaders. In 2000, Jerome Petin purchased the property, known as Bilbo, from Julio Garcia, who represented Maurice Strong in Costa Rica. Since then, Jerome and Gregory Petin have worked to preserve the property's authentic Caribbean style and original setting. They have added modern comforts such as Wi-Fi, television, basic cooking facilities, and fans while maintaining the spirit of a jungle home by the sea.

Other Things to Note
Please dispose of all organic food in the jungle to feed the local wildlife. Keep in mind that you are staying in the heart of the jungle, so you may hear howler monkeys or notice ants. These creatures are easy to observe and part of the natural experience.

Excellent location, steps from one of the most beautiful beaches in the Southern Caribbean. However, the house needs a lot of maintenance, which is a shame.

The house is quite spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed it a lot because it's close to everything, so we were able to walk and visit several nearby places. The house is quite safe and has a large enclosed garden; we saw quite a few beautiful animals, which we really enjoyed.

I loved the location of the place; it's very quiet, excellent for bringing pets, and it has a nice green area. My dog Luca played until he was exhausted, and the place is close to the beach. Regarding the house, it's nice and unassuming, but it needs a little maintenance to be better, especially the smaller room...

It's a charming rustic house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. We saw several sloths around the garden and green macaws flew by every day. It's a perfect house to experience some of the iconic Costa Rica wildlife. Nice short walk in the rainforest on the left of the house. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach via a private path.

The house is beautiful, typically Caribbean, super cool and cozy, very spacious spaces, very equipped kitchen, no air conditioning is needed since the house is very ventilated. The property has beautiful vegetation, one of the days of our stay we had the privilege of seeing a sloth coming down from a tree and I was lucky enough to touch its head, it was an unforgettable moment. We were all delighted and in love with the house and its surroundings. The beach is a few meters away and with the security of leaving through a private path. I recommend it a thousand percent. Monica was always available and attentive to our needs. I would like to return as soon as possible. Thank you for having such a beautiful place.

The house is beautiful. Unbeatable location. A Caribbean house surrounded by nature. I work remotely and the wifi is essential for me and it worked perfectly. The hosts were super attentive to any need and always responded quickly. The kitchen is spacious and super comfortable. I would definitely come back and recommend it 100%. The ideal place to enjoy the nature and fauna of the Caribbean: limpets, toucans, monkeys, sloths, guatuzas, everything can be enjoyed in that magical garden. Steps to the beach on a private path. I loved it! It was a real pleasure to stay there.

It's an Afro-Antillean style wooden house. Beautiful, simple, clean and tidy. You can walk to the beach without leaving the property, the sea seems like a swimming pool. The place is a paradise!
