A spacious house with a beautiful location. Two large beds and two small ones. Kitchen and two bathrooms. I recommend a 4x4 vehicle to enter. We had a couple of situations, but at a number they left in the same house, they took care of us and resolved the problem.

We really liked the cabin; it was clean, tidy, and spacious, in a setting with direct contact with nature. However, the artificial lighting was poor, as the bulbs were low-wattage, which made it difficult to see well; for example, I couldn't read at night. Also, lights are needed over the sink and in the kitchen. On the last day, the gas ran out while we were making breakfast. One of the bathrooms had a toilet seat that was not the right type for the toilet, making it difficult to use. There were also no mirrors in the bathrooms, and they are very necessary.

We truly loved our stay at this private cabin within Sueños del Bosque. The setting is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, surrounded by nature, and one of the most memorable parts of our trip. Getting there was an adventure, as the roads in the Cordillera de Talamanca are narrow, steep, and we arrived at night in heavy fog and rain. There were some challenges: the cabin was very cold at night (around 45°F) with no heating, the hot water did not work properly, and we experienced power outages (first one room, then the whole cabin). Staff was responsive in restoring power, though internet remained down, and they kindly compensated us with breakfast and dinner. Despite this, we genuinely loved the experience. It’s a special place for those prepared for a rustic, nature-focused stay.

The cabin was as-advertised with a breathtaking view. We spotted several birds from the balcony! The internet was out the whole time we were there but they comped our breakfast which we appreciated.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. We love how private it is, and the surroundings are beautiful, especially the river, which is a few minutes’ walk away, and the private trails. Highly recommended.

My friends and I stayed here for a week and had zero complaints. The airbnb is simple but comfortable. We ate most of our meals out at the many surrounding restaurants, as that was always the plan, however had we wanted to cook big meals for our group, the lack of kitchen things would have been challenging. We made due with what was available with a little creativity. We enjoyed our time on the big deck and spent our days hiking and birding. The hotel sent in a cleaning service whenever we requested it and the ladies were fantastic! As others mentioned, it gets cool here at night but we were quite cozy under all the supplied blankets. We were all very happy with our stay here.

Due to weather delays back home, we were able to have an extra night in San Gerardo de Dota. There were not many available places for a Saturday night, so we were grateful that Juan's place was still available. We were able to park at the Lodge and take a hike before check-in, which was appreciated. The driveway was manageable with a 4WD car. We enjoyed coffee on the large deck. While the pictures were accurate, there were a few quirks that kept this from being a 5-star stay. For one, there were no lamps or side/coffee tables in the living room which made it less cozy. The shower handle in one bathroom was difficult to use so the water didn't get very hot. Also, there is not a door for the bunk bedroom which made the room less comfortable for my teen. But, it was clean, spacious, with great views, and there were plenty of blankets for the chilly night, so overall a good stay.

The house is beautiful and the front porch and view are spectacular. It is also far from everything so that could be ideal if you’re interested in privacy. There was no internet as promised, although this was quickly remedied. There were a handful of other oddities, such as a running toilet, broken shower handle, weird bathroom smells, very complicated access road, and an electrical outage at one point. I’m grateful for the space and staff were very helpful, just be prepared for quirkiness.
