A very nice place full of amenities and very attentive owners

I stayed at Pipe House in 2016 and just went back with my family. The best of it remains unchanged - a few steps from the beach, Felipe is an incredibly friendly and accommodating host, comfy beds, and great vibes amongst the guests. The new outdoor gym and seating area are beautiful. You can surf right in front of the property, Tamarindo is a quick walk and boat ride away, and there are a few great restaurants and cafes walkable in the neighborhood. It’s a unique spot and I highly recommend it!

I LOVE THE PIPEHOUSE ♥️ what a gorgeous hostel, I extended my trip as I loved it so much. Everything about it is relaxing, from the hammocks, to the dining area and cozy rooms and it feels super safe for someone alone! The beach is down the driveway, with a private entrance and a supermarket/couple restaurants, coffee shop only a short walk. It’s super handy having the bikes to get to Playa Grande in the day, but this isn’t possible at night (if your in a group or a couple this is fine as you can walk along the beach, but it closes at night and no Ubers local) Overall, absolutely LOVED my trip to Pipehouse and Playa Grande, what a beautiful place! Thank you Felipe!!!

Very good proposal, the hostel is beautiful and the service is excellent

Had a fantastic time at the pipe house! The beach is a 2 minute walk away, gorgeous, and so peaceful and uncrowded. Totally different from Tamarindo. Keep in mind if you’re looking for a more social/night life experience, staying in Tamarindo is better because it’s ~40 min drive (15 min walk + short water taxi is an option during the day but stops at 5pm). But we were so glad we stayed here instead - super peaceful yet social hostel, lovely common areas, great gym. The pipes are very small so ideal for one person but if you are two people, make sure you’re traveling light bc luggage storage can be tight. Would 100% return here! The free breakfasts were amazing, the AC in the pipes worked perfectly, and it was one of my fav hostel experiences.

Cost little hidden gem right on the beach. Felipe’s staff was amazing!

Felipe is an absolutely wonderful host and his property is no different. The place is exactly as pictured and described. It is easy to find, and just steps away from a world class beach. There are some staff at the place who are lovely as well and provide you with a classic Costa Rican breakfast. Felipe also offers surf lessons and rentals. Had a private lesson with him and it was terrific. He is a friendly guy and totally fluent in both English and Spanish. Easy to communicate with and responsive to all the guests needs. You often see him around the property, and his house is in front if need be. I would happily stay with Felipe again next time I am in Guanacaste.
