The Bamboo Bungalow

Very beautiful cabin built of wood, bamboo and recycled materials. Very simple and at the same time tasteful.

Working remotely for a total of 4 weeks at Che's place—perfect location! Lake for swimming, well-equipped kitchen, small market nearby! Thanks to Che and Indira, who are working on it.

The bungalows have been tastefully designed with an eco-friendly approach: bamboo, palm leaves, wood. Instead of concrete and cement. It is much more in tune with nature. It's also very airy. A lovely, typical Nicaraguan setting. We swam in the lake, the ladies did their laundry, and the horses came to drink! What more could you want for a real experience???? I was working remotely, and everything was going great with the internet. You have to relearn how to slow down and enjoy life in the tropics! Thank you, Che and Indira, who is a great help to you.

Wonderful place with very friendly people who were always attentive to our questions or requests. On the edge of a wonderful lake! I would highly recommend this place if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle while still being close to everything. Thank you, Che and Indira!

Talk about a superhost! Well stocked kitchen, Coffee roasted the night before, help with scooter rentals, hiking excursions, restaurants etc. The little house is super cool and the bed is comfy! Theres mosquito netting but it does have a couple holes, I’m sure they will replace. Such a great spot. Very convenient and I’d love to book again. Thank you so much!

If you are thinking to stay here, stop thinking and just do it! Host is amazing, super friendly and really cares for his guests and the bamboo huts. He is very passionate and it shows. Everything is even better and prettier then in the pictures!

We stayed here before in April 2023 and loved it so much, we returned which is a first for us. It was as good as we remembered. Che is such an amazing host. He is kind, helpful, funny and nothing is too much trouble. We loved our 2nd visit to El Bamboo and seeing Che again. This is by far one of the best places we have ever stayed in all our years of travelling. The cabins are stunning and comfortable. So much thought and skill has gone into them. Very highly recommended.

A great spot near to everything in Belgue. The cabin was beautifully built - such a luxury to have our own kitchen and bathroom, especially a warm shower! Che couldn’t have been more helpful and responsive, gave great recommendations and local info. Would definitely stay again 😊

Che is a great host - he is very communicative and helped us co-ordinate our transportation and gave us local tips. The cabins are very clean and spacious and the location is perfect, located by the lake. Only a short 5 min walk to the main street in Balgue. We're so glad we chose to stay here, and would definitely recommend.

Good kitchen and a lot of space for the money

The bamboo hut is located in the middle of the jungle on the northern lake shore. At night you can only rush the waves separately by a mosquito net and hear a lot of animal noises. Wifi, warm shower and well equipped kitchen. It was a great experience!

El Bamboo was the peaceful retreat we were looking for. Right by the lake and a short walk up to the best cafe / restaurant in Balgue. How nice not to stay in a concrete hostel. The bungalow was unique, constructed with attention to climate and nature. Not a bug in sight except for our friendly gecko and the garden’s butterflies. Owner, Che was incredibly friendly and a great host. Thanks Che for a wonderful stay.
