On the plus side—If a stunning view of the sunrise over the mountains and ocean with whales spouting in the background is what you’re looking for, you’ll love this place. On the minus side—The washer/dryer unit was broken for the entire month of our stay. We’ve stayed in 3 condos in Copala and this one was the least comfortably furnished. Utilitarian, but that’s it. The king bed in the master suite was great. Beyond that, the couch in the living area is really uncomfortable. Furniture on the balcony is minimal. Most Copala units include a table for outdoor dining, this one does not. Utilitarian also describes the kitchen. Kitchen linens are lacking—one tea towel, a used sponge, no oven mitts or hot pads, no baking dishes. In full disclosure, we were charged almost $1K for broken patio door glass. We do not believe this was entirely our fault, but it happened while we were there, and we had no way to dispute so we paid it.

I don’t enjoy leaving reviews like this, but I believe future renters would want to know this. There were positives. We were allowed to enter early, the property was exactly as described, and it was very clean. We have stayed on the Quivira grounds multiple times and love the location and resort access. The three stars come down to communication and maintenance. The host’s typical response time in the Airbnb message thread was listed as six hours, which is a long time to wait when issues come up, and our experience with other Airbnbs has been much faster. During our stay, both the washer and dryer stopped working despite following instructions, repairs were slow, the back door handle was loose and coming off, and the grill igniter was not working. Knowing what I know now, would I rent this property again? No.
