The Villa

Designed by Victor Cañas, Casa Cocobolo is an architectural retreat perched high above the Pacific. The home showcases tropical modernism, pairing refined design with expansive views of the jungle canopy.

• Helipad access: Reach the villa from Liberia International Airport (LIR) or San José International Airport (SJO) in under an hour by helicopter.
• Primary suite: Includes a king bed, an ocean-view soaking tub, and a private cliff-front lookout.
• Guest rooms: Two additional rooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed, are located just down the hall and share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom.
• Home cinema: Enjoy movie nights with a retractable screen, Apple TV, and high-speed Starlink internet for reliable streaming and connectivity.
• Infinity pool: Look across the jungle canopy toward Montezuma’s coastline while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

The Private Reserve

Casa Cocobolo is set on more than 30 hectares of pristine wildlife corridor, providing exceptional privacy and immersion in nature.

• Hidden waterfalls: Follow the private river trail to cascading waterfalls and secluded freshwater pools. As the trail is still being finalized, access is currently guided by staff for safety.
• Wildlife: Adjacent to a National Refuge, the property forms part of a natural route for monkeys, toucans, and exotic butterflies.
• Teakwood deck: This expansive deck is ideal for morning yoga or sunset cocktails, with panoramic views of the Pacific above the lush forest.

Guest Capacity and Pricing

The base rate is designed for one couple, or two guests, making the villa suitable for intimate escapes. Larger groups are welcome. Please enter the correct number of guests when booking, as an additional nightly fee applies to each guest beyond the first two.

Architecture and Climate

Casa Cocobolo is designed as an open-air luxury villa.

• Sleeping areas: All three upstairs bedrooms feature powerful air conditioning for a comfortable night’s rest.
• Living areas: The main floor is designed to welcome the jungle breeze through large sliding glass walls and high-efficiency fans. The common areas do not have air conditioning.

The Jungle Experience

This high-end villa is immersed in hectares of untouched wilderness. Although the property is fumigated regularly, its open-air design means you will likely experience the sights and sounds of the jungle, including insects.

Nature lovers will appreciate the setting, while guests seeking a completely sealed and sterile environment may prefer a different type of accommodation.

Service and Logistics

• Professional housekeeping is included Monday through Saturday and is tailored to the size of your group:
  • Couples: 2 hours daily
  • Larger groups: 4 hours daily
• Sunday housekeeping is available upon request for $40.
• For arrivals after 8:00 p.m., a $100 fee applies for a private staff escort to guide guests safely to the villa.
• Drone use is strictly prohibited to protect guest privacy and the surrounding wildlife.
