The Space

This ocean view villa is nestled in the hills of Mal Pais, within a quiet residential neighborhood away from noise and dust. It is just a short 5-minute drive to Santa Teresa town and the main surfing spots in the area. Surrounded by nature, the villa offers truly breathtaking views, especially from the infinity pool, which is unforgettable during sunset.

The interior covers over 500 square feet and can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests. The design takes advantage of the cross breeze flowing through the valley to keep the house cool throughout the year. Natural stone floors extend from inside the villa to the outdoor patio and the centerpiece infinity pool.

The fully equipped kitchen includes all necessary appliances and utensils. The open-plan living area features a bar, dining space, and a spacious lounge with satellite TV and Wi-Fi. Additional amenities include a utility room and a safe for valuables.

There are six ocean-view bedrooms, each equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, a writing desk, and a private balcony. The master bedroom is spacious and airy, with a king-size bed, wooden floors, a chaise lounge, TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. Its bathroom includes two walk-in showers, double sinks, a two-person Jacuzzi, and a walk-in closet.

Among the other bedrooms, three have king-size beds, while two rooms contain two single beds each. Upstairs, there is a second patio for sunbathing and an open rancho-style lounge with seating and hammocks, perfect for relaxing while watching the sunset or stargazing at night.

Outside, the patio and garden feature a six-person breakfast table, loungers, an infinity pool, and an enclosed garden with a swing for children. The property also offers parking space for up to four cars and has a private entrance.

Important Information for Visitors

Welcome to Santa Teresa, a unique surf town surrounded by jungle. This is not a city but a special place with some local quirks to keep in mind:

• Power and Water: Occasional power outages occur. When the electricity is off, water supply (which is pumped), Wi-Fi, and hot showers (electric) will be unavailable. Outages typically last from 10 minutes to 2 hours but can be longer during storms.
• Air Conditioning: Please turn off air conditioning when not in use to conserve power and avoid outages.
• Security: Always lock all doors and windows when leaving. Use the safe for valuables if available.
• Cooking Gas: The villa uses propane tanks as Costa Rica has no gas pipelines. Tanks last a long time but may run out unexpectedly. Spare tanks are available, and assistance will be provided to replace them.
• Hot Water: Hot water is powered by electricity, not gas.
• Food and Ants: To prevent ants, store food inside the fridge or sealed containers. Ants do not appear immediately but will come if food is left out.
• Toilets: Do not flush toilet paper as there is no drainage system in town. Use the bin provided next to the toilet.
• Local Wildlife: Expect to see ants, geckos, lizards, spiders, mosquitoes, roaches, mice, bats, snakes, and possibly scorpions (which are not dangerous). These animals are part of the natural environment.
