Downtown Sámara offers bars, restaurants, and a variety of shops.

Perfect place to crash for a few nights in Sámara. It is a 3km walk or 30 minutes to the city centre, fine for some exercise but not for someone with mobility issues, would need a car. Nice patio with a tub and sounds of nature at night.

2nd time at the Nangu lodge and always a real joy. It's pretty, cozy, simple, well thought out and comfortable. Having the monkeys, squirrels, butterflies of all colors and others as neighbors is fantastic. I love this place and the hosts are absolutely great. I feel at home there, certainly you too if you come!

We had a pleasant stay! The place is a little away from the village/beach and a car is clearly an advantage. The place matches the pictures and the kitchen is super equipped - the highlight is clearly the great hot tub from which we could watch the monkeys in the trees. The only small "shortcoming" is the construction site across the street - some of it was already working there from 06:00 in the morning, even on weekends. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

Laurent was great, responsive and kind. I am giving a slightly lower review due to circumstances outside of Laurents control (unfortunately). The house just below the property had noisy tenants who blasted music later at night and then there was construction workers on another property that blasted music during the day (I wanted to take a nap during the peak heat of the day). This is completely outside of the owners control so I feel bad even reviewing the property like this. Other thing that I didn't think would be an issue but became one was that the treehouse is open air (I absolutely knew this prior to my stay), so you can't close windows to outside noise, obviously no air conditioning, and you hear the howlers in the morning (which again I was well aware about, but they were very very loud at 5am). I likely wouldn't stay in this property again because of the concept of the house, with the open air, even with screens there was a lot of ants that got in.

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful place. The bay window that opens entirely and the large terrace with Jacuzzi are very nice. There are indeed a few noises nearby (neighbors, cars and howler monkeys) so you will not be alone lost in nature mails that was not inconvenient for us. The place is a little away from the center of Samara and it's best to have a car to stay there. Laurent and Andréa welcomed us in person with great kindness and gave us lots of good advice about the surroundings. Thanks again:)

Great spot. Loved the jacuzzi and the view was primo. You definitely need a car if you're renting here, but it's not too bad

Unfortunately, you have to look at all the positive reviews in a differentiated way. Of course, the welcome was very friendly and the accommodation something special, but with the currently high temperatures (35 degrees and 29 degrees at night) we could not close an eye all night. Since there is no air conditioning (which we did not notice when booking) and the important fan above the bed wobbled loudly and was not usable, we had to keep all the doors and windows open overnight due to the heat. No one mentioned here that there is a gravel road right in front of the house and motorcycles, quads and from 5 in the morning trucks up the road as if they were driving through the bedroom. The sparse amenities ( no kettle or toaster) and dirty cups then rounded off the picture. Unfortunately, Laurent did not understand the a situation and left after one night and lost two paid nights. Too bad.

Laurent and his wife's place was very quietly located in the hills of Samara and perfect for our stay. We especially enjoyed the large glass front on the balcony. In just 6 minutes we could be in Samara or Playa Carillo by car.

Lovely stay with very friendly and helpful hosts. The property had everything you needed and the beautiful balcony and hot tub made it very special. Recommendations from host really helped make our stay enjoyable and Samara is one of our favourite places in Costa Rica.
