The Space

Cabin #3 is a non-smoking private motel room located on the bottom floor next to the end cabin. It features a full-size bed and a large closet. The room includes hot water, air conditioning, WiFi, cable TV, a mini fridge, and daily housekeeping. There is a drawer desk but no other furniture. Please note, there is no kitchen or kitchenette, so no silverware or dishware is provided.

The cabin offers a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for business travelers or longer stays. A unique highlight is the on-site hummingbirds that visit the feeders on the bottom floor, providing a special experience for bird watchers.

This is a budget-friendly motel without soundproofing, so light sleepers are advised to bring earplugs. Noise may come from local fiestas across the street, early morning or late-night truck traffic, or footsteps from upstairs rooms. The staff uses translators and does not speak English fluently.

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to explore the entire property and enjoy any seasonal fruits available. The BBQ area includes a sink, two gas burners, outlets, lighting, wood racks, and picnic tables. Please clean up after use and do not leave personal cooking items behind.

A kitchenware box with basic pots, pans, utensils, a can opener, sponge, and dish soap is available on a first-come, first-served basis with a refundable $30 deposit. Please return all items to avoid losing the deposit.

• Nearby beaches (20-40 minutes by car): Playa Organos, Playa Pochote, Playa Pajaros, Tambor
• Los Delfines Golf & Country Club (Playa Tambor): 35 minutes by car
• Bahia Rica Tours (10 minutes by car) offers excursions such as sport fishing, sea kayaking, boat tours to Isla Tortuga and Isla San Lucas, bioluminescent night kayaking, snorkeling, monkey boat tours, and seasonal whale and dolphin watching
• Bus stop across the street provides transportation to the ferry and nearby towns including Tambor (40 minutes), Cobano (45 minutes), Mal Pais (1 to 1.5 hours), Santa Teresa (1.5 hours), and Montezuma (1.5 hours)
• Curu Reserve: approximately 30 minutes by car; 75 acres with nine nature trails and beaches. Adult entry fee is $12 per person (subject to change), payable in cash at the gate. Credit card machines are unreliable due to unstable electricity.

Curu Reserve and Tours

At the Curu Reserve entrance, payment is made in cash to a guard. Visitors sign a guest book required by Costa Rica’s National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC). The reserve is home to monkeys, native wildlife, and rehabilitated animals.

Tours such as daily trips to Isla Tortuga, snorkeling, diving, and bioluminescent tours are offered by Turismo Curu, which operates independently from the reserve. Payment for these tours is best made in town where credit card machines are more reliable.

Turismo Curu offers round-trip transport for guests at 7 AM for 1,000 colones ($2) per person each way, with reservations required.

Booking and Rates

• Ages 0-3 years stay free.
• Additional guests after the first person cost $10 each per night.
• Some rooms have sponge foam mattresses available for extra guests at the same additional guest price; payment is collected upon arrival.
• Group rates are available for six or more people or for renting all 16 cabins; please contact directly for special pricing.
• The calendar shows availability only for this cabin; other cabins may be available on the same dates.

When selecting a cabin, please match the number of guests to the bed configuration. For example, Cabin #1 has three twin beds suitable for three singles, while Cabin #3 has one full-size bed ideal for two people sharing. If the choice does not match your party size, the host may need to adjust your booking or charge an additional fee.

Noise and Expectations

This property is not a 1-star chain motel and does not offer soundproofing. Noise from local festivities, truck traffic, and other guests may be heard. The host recommends bringing earplugs for light sleepers.

The management posts notices requesting guests to be considerate about noise, and they are willing to remind guests if noise becomes an issue. Guests are encouraged to communicate any concerns during their stay so the host can assist.

Value and Standards

The property provides essential comforts without extra fees such as cleaning or parking charges. Included are clean towels, linens, toilet tissue, daily maid service (except Sundays), mini fridge, air conditioning, body soap, shampoo, hot water, cable TV, private bathroom, and private entry.

Costa Rican standards include:

• Cold water is typical, but this property offers hot water in 10 units.
• Air conditioning is not standard in many parts of Costa Rica; this property provides true air conditioning, not just fans.
• Gratuities are not customary but appreciated for exceptional service.
• Septic tanks are standard; used toilet paper should be disposed of in waste bins next to toilets.

Additional Services and Notes

• Camping is available for $5 per person per night plus a cleaning deposit ($25-$175 depending on party size). Guests must bring their own tents and gear. Contact the host directly to arrange.
• In-room massages are offered subject to therapist availability. The therapist is also a physical therapist skilled in lymphatic massage.
• Local menus with express and room delivery options are provided in cabins.
• Refundable deposits are required for beach chairs, coolers, and fishing gear.

Nearby Dining and Opportunities

• The former Chinese restaurant on-site has relocated downtown. The building is available for rent or sale, including a liquor license and a 3-bedroom, 1-bath casita for $250,000.
• Recommended local seafood restaurant: "Las Vegas" (also known as "La Puruja"), located about 2 minutes down the gravel road, offers fresh fish with generous portions.

The host can assist with recommendations and reservations for local tours and activities. An information book is available at the office detailing places to visit and things to do in the area.
