El Retiro

Well located, good service

My jaw was on the floor at how beautiful this place was. The pictures do not do it justice. It’s the perfect distance from the main town where if you wanted to walk you could or take an uber which was 5 USD. There are so many little shops nearby and everything is so convenient. I will be staying here again it’s sooo beautiful.

Miriam was fantastic. Location is superb!

We enjoyed our Easter week in this lovely house, which is superbly located. Everything is very close, and you don't need to use a vehicle. The house is very nice and clean. Miriam is very sweet and friendly, willing to help with anything you need. The house is very comfortable to go with the family.

The place and location were excellent and felt very safe. The house was exactly as shown in the pictures (or actually better) and very comfortable. Miriam (house keeper that lives in the back of the house) was very friendly and available any time I had questions or requests. Its walking distance to the center of town and very close to coffee shops and little stores. Overall, we were very happy with the rental and really surprise with Antigua, quality of restaurants and things to see. Highly recommended! The only negative side was that the main room was facing the street, which starting early in the morning, street noise can be heard. The other 2 rooms did not have that issue. Nevertheless, I would rent the property again. If you are not a light sleeper like me, it will not affect you as much.

Fantastic location! Walkable to the town square and local restaurants and shops. The place is even better than the photos, it opens to the fresh air but is very private. The rooftop has a beautiful view. Miriam, the house helper, was super helpful and kind! The host was responsive and helpful! We had a fabulous time and would definitely book again should we rerun!

Our family of five had a wonderful stay at Casa El Retiro in Antigua. The home was clean, spacious, and beautiful, a perfect place for our family to relax together. A special thank you to our co-host Diana. She was amazing, always replying promptly and arranging our transportation to and from the airport, which made traveling easy. We also loved Mariam, the live-in housekeeper. She was incredibly sweet and accommodating. She used a translator app when needed and it worked perfectly. One of our favorite spots was the rooftop terrace. Spend time there in the early mornings and evenings. The birds create beautiful music in the morning and the surrounding countryside and volcanoes are an incredible backdrop. The location is ideal. We walked everywhere and never needed a ride share. Check out Elemental Coffee just one block north. Antigua is fascinating. Behind every door lies a beautiful courtyard. Truly magical.

This is our second time in this place, and the hosts and Miriam (the help in site) made us feel right at home. The place is got a beautiful interior garden and a terrace overlooking Antigua and the volcanoes, from which we enjoyed sunset looking at the Fire Volcano eruptions. Kitchen does feel a bit small given the big house, but we didn't use it much as there's tons of restaurants in Antigua. We're likely to stay again

Miriam's service was very friendly. The house is very nice, with architecture and decoration very typical of Antigua and the views from the terrace are spectacular. The perfect location. We will definitely be back.
