We loved it here. Came for 3 nights but ended up staying for a week. It was great to have cooking facilities after being in hotels for so long. The staff who provide breakfast and clean are lovely and breakfast is great. Felipe is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Gracias por todo, Eoin.

Staying at the Pipe House Hostel was such a fun and unique experience. Sleeping in an actual pipe was awesome and definitely something different from a typical hostel stay. The location is fantastic, just steps from a quiet, beautiful beach which made it really relaxing. Felipe (the owner) and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The area also felt very safe and secure, seemed like a gated community. Everything was clean and well kept and the air conditioning in the pipe made it comfortable to sleep even in the heat. Breakfast was included and tasted amazing, which was a great bonus. There’s also a really good pizza place nearby which was perfect after a day at the beach. Honestly, there weren’t really any downsides. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but for the price and the unique experience of staying in a pipe, you definitely get what you pay for. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this place if you want a fun, affordable stay right by the beach!

Felipe was one of the best hosts we had in our Costa Rican journey. He was passionate and his enthusiasm for life was perfect. Loved the beach and close proximity to Tamarindo, while also enjoying the scenery. The surfboards on site to rent was great and appreciated as well! Pura Vida!

We really enjoyed all the place has to offer! They provided breakfast every morning which was a simple Costa Rican meal but so delicious. I took surf lessons for $60 USD and they were great lessons and Felipe explains things clearly and assists you the entire time! There is a daytime boat ferry you can take during the day I guess to get to Tamarindo….we were not aware until the last day so I am not sure the details of when it runs or how much but it would save you a 40 minute drive to get there so be sure to ask Felipe about it.

This place is highly recommended. The barrels are incredibly cozy, we felt very comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty 😍 Felipe is a very accommodating and friendly host

The pipehouse is a warm and friendly place where it's nice to stay. A stone's throw from an almost deserted beach where you can catch beautiful waves. Felipe is a very attentive and available host. It even offers board rentals on site as well as lessons. My lover and I loved our stay and we promise to go back without fail!!

Natural surroundings and be ready to experience the elements. Luckily Felipe had umbrellas to use during an evening thunderstorm trek to a restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful. I did not like that one guest was smoking pot several times a day in the public space.
