Christiaan’s guesthouse is set in a beautiful, private tropical garden with a mountain river flowing through it. It is a tastefully decorated apartment for two, featuring an amazing shower that overlooks the lush greenery—it feels as if you’re standing right in the middle of the jungle. The property is located in a stunning mountain area, with several beautiful hiking trails starting right from the house. There are also excellent restaurants nearby. A wonderful place to stay if you want to relax, immerse yourself in nature, and enjoy the beauty of this special part of Costa Rica. Highly recommended!

One of the most beautiful places me and my wife have been. It’s incredible what an incredible piece of paradise Christian has created. Such a lovely host with a warm welcome of delicious local products. This is a place you have to visit.

Christian is a great guy and very helpful . His garden next to the river is stunning which he has obviously put a huge amount of effort in designing and making .

A little paradise at the foot of the Cherripo Mountains, perfect for exploring the San Gerardo area. Hiking trails are within walking distance of the property. Christian is very friendly, and the place is impeccable. The gardens are absolutely beautiful! And swimming in the river at the foot of the house is magical! Hoping to be able to go back one day :)

This place was great. Christian gave us good directions to get to his place. The studio was spotless, and the views of the garden and river were wonderful. We had everything we needed. Afternoon naps on the deck in the provided hammock and bean bag were great! I highly recommend this place if you are staying in the Chirripo area.

Very nice and pleasant studio. In a lush setting with the river flowing under the terrace. Christian is a very considerate and welcoming host. Very nice spot for hiking and climbing Cerro Chirripó, which starts 500 m from the apartment. Very nice location in a micro village in Costa Rica!

A literal slice of paradise! A beautifully maintained private suite with unmatched proximity to the river and beautiful gardens. Christian was accommodating, friendly, and helpful - overall a great host. I would highly recommend!

Truly, THE place against which other 5-star reviews should be compared. Great location, well provisoned, easy walk to local restaurants, and local hiking and birding locations. If you don’t feel like leaving the property, the gardens are immaculate and phenomenally good for birding (I had 30 species in a short morning birding) or if you just want to chill and drink the excellent coffee Chris provides.
