The Space

Casa Maya Luna is situated within Buenaventura, a privately owned Eco-Adventure Wellness Regeneration Center and Cacao Superfood Forest spanning 160 acres in the Savegre Watershed River Valley. This hand-built, two-story tropical hardwood chalet covers 5,000 square feet and serves as a retreat center for individuals, couples, families, and groups seeking an off-the-grid immersion in nature and Costa Rican countryside culture.

Located at the base of Buenaventura’s mountainous rainforest property, the chalet offers private trails, waterfalls, and natural swimming holes.

Buenaventura is a privately managed property featuring a riverfront rainforest lodge, an Ascension Temple, a wellness regeneration and wildlife learning center, cacao and superfood forests, an eco-adventure wilderness park, glamping campgrounds, and a private wildlife reserve. Nestled in a secluded valley within the greater Savegre River Valley, it is home to ancient Ceiba trees over 300 years old.

Buenaventura’s rainforest property borders the Rio Division on both north and south sides, with 40% lying within the Los Santos Forest Reserve. This reserve, north of Buenaventura, encompasses over 150,000 acres of protected primary and secondary tropical cloud and humid rainforests. It is home to endangered species including jaguars, tapirs, and sloths, located in the western valleys and foothills of the Talamanca Corridor.

The Casa Maya Luna Temple and cacao forest glamping grounds are situated along one of the country’s cleanest rivers, ideal for rafting and kayaking on Class 3-4 rapids. This area is a mystical and sacred meeting point where rainforest meets river.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive access to the entire home during their stay.

Additional Information

Casa Maya Luna is accessible only by hiking. Vehicles are parked near a private footbridge across the river from the chalet. Guests cross this footbridge and then walk approximately five minutes to reach the property. Assistance with luggage and groceries is available.

For those without a 4x4 rental vehicle, coordination of 4x4 taxi services from San Isidro, Manuel Antonio, or Dominical can be arranged. Transportation services are also offered for an additional fee.
