The Space
Villa Monos Bailarines offers a peaceful retreat ideal for exploring Manuel Antonio. Nestled in a central location just minutes from the beach and Quepos, the property remains private and secluded, surrounded by lush rainforest teeming with wildlife.
The main house features two bedrooms upstairs: one with a king bed and the other with two single beds that can be converted into a king. Below, there is a spacious open-plan living area and kitchen. The guest house includes a large private bathroom and a covered terrace with a swing. Both the main house and guest house share a lovely pool.
The setting resembles a small colonial village centered around the pool and enveloped by rainforest. Each bedroom in the main house has its own balcony, and there is a generous covered patio equipped with a barbecue grill. The open living, dining, and kitchen areas flow seamlessly onto the patio, which has a large table perfect for meals and games.
The guest house also boasts a large covered patio with a hammock and maintains a colonial atmosphere. Inside, it offers high ceilings, air conditioning, a spacious bathroom, a queen bed, and a twin bed. A few steps connect both homes to the pool terrace, where loungers invite you to relax and enjoy the peaceful rainforest surroundings.
Wildlife
Villa Monos is situated within a biological corridor, attracting abundant wildlife. You can expect to see sloths, agoutis, iguanas, and numerous bird species, including toucans and vibrant scarlet macaws.
Monkeys are frequent visitors in three varieties:
- Howler monkeys, known for their morning calls
- Capuchin monkeys, notorious for stealing bananas and teasing guests
- Titi monkeys, playful and numerous, inspiring the property's name, which means "House of the Dancing Monkeys"
Guest Access
Guests have full access to both the main house and guest house, as well as the shared pool. The entire property is private.
Other Things to Note
There is a cement walkway from the parking area to the villas, featuring a series of steps spread out along the path, which may be manageable for those with limited mobility. Inside the main house, a flight of stairs connects the lower living area to the bedrooms upstairs. Additionally, there are a few steps between the house, the outdoor covered patio, and the pool area.

We loved our stay at Villa Manos Bailarines. It was a little challenging to find initially but no problem after the first trek up the gravel road. The house and casita are very charming and welcoming. We loved the pool for cooling off in the afternoons. Monkeys visited one day and the Toucan was a daily visitor early in the morning. The beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The Villa is located convenient to all of our excursions and many restaurants. Vanessa was very responsive to our questions and needs during our stay.

Monkeys, monkeys, monkeys! Sloths and iguanas too! Great house and Casita! Very clean and well stocked. Everything you could need! Large patio on the house and Casita! Beautiful setting and wildlife all around. Location was good. Swimming pool was refreshing and had several loungers. Nice bathrooms and linens. The casita was a nice getaway for my husband and I while our daughter and her children occupied the main house. Very private and quiet. I would definitely stay again.

We had such an amazing stay here for 3 nights! The house was spotless, organized, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. One of the best parts was how hidden in the jungle it felt — we were relaxing in the pool watching monkeys jump from tree to tree right in front of us. It honestly felt surreal. The whole experience was peaceful, beautiful, and unforgettable. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing jungle getaway!

We enjoyed the pool, which was a nice refreshing temperature. We saw monkeys on our last day. The stay was great but communication with the owner was not as fast as we see from other hosts. Location was a little hard to find, but once you got it then it’s no problem. Showers were nice and hot.

Kent and his staff are very friendly. The place was just like the pictures. Very comfortable, separate house. The pool was fine. Out of consideration for other guests, there are several staircases to get to the place. The pool area is made of cement, which can be a bit scratchy.

My family of five (3 kids ages 9, 11, and 14) plus my parents stayed the week at Villa Monos. We had the best week. The house was beautiful and well taken care of. The gravel road makes it seem “off the beaten path” while still being close to everything. We loved relaxing by the pool each afternoon while being visited by different types of monkeys, birds and agoutis. The toucan nest in the dead tree was another pleasant surprise! The only thing that could have made the house better would have been a grill. Vanessa was amazing. She booked all of our excursions ahead of time including horseback riding, Zip lining, surf lessons, and more. Each experience she booked was perfect. She was very attentive. We had a water leak and she immediately sent maintenance and had it fixed within the hour.

We had the most wonderful stay at this home in Manuel Antonio. The layout was perfect for our family, with a main house and a separate casita that allowed everyone to sleep and live comfortably while still feeling connected. The location is truly special — you feel completely immersed in nature, surrounded by lush jungle and incredible wildlife. We saw toucans, birds, and several kinds of monkeys right on the property. It’s easy to understand why the home is called the “House of the Dancing Monkeys.” Vanessa, the house manager, was exceptional. She made sure we were set up comfortably from the start and helped coordinate unforgettable experiences, including a private chef who prepared a delicious meal and in-home massages. Her care and attentiveness truly elevated our stay. The home is also very conveniently located in Quepos, with easy access to Manuel Antonio National Park and other key spots, while still feeling peaceful and tucked away in nature. Highly recommend!

Tucked away is this beautiful oasis. We truly felt at peace after the rush of the city and shopping and whatnot. The pool is small but has huge potential for a lot of fun with the family. The house is in a nice location as it’s 10/15min drive to anywhere you’d want to go. It was clean and the cleaning lady is SO nice - she really deserves the tips!
