Studio in Playa Grande

We had a great stay. The walk to the beach takes you through a small forest and we always saw birds on the walk. The beach was very nice and, even though it was high season, was not crowded at all. As you walked further north, there were even fewer people. It is a surfing beach, so not ideal for swimming, but I would take an empty beach where you can still get in an enjoy the water to a crowded great swimming beach. There are also tide pools a short walk up the beach. As the listing indicates the room isn't large, but it was nice. There were private lounge chairs as well as a table outside. The pool and the entire grounds were nice. There was never a time when we wanted to swim and they were using the pool and the pool is large enough that sharing it wouldn't be a problem. The listing is clear that they live there and use the pool. The hosts were enjoyable and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

Our stay at Kristena and Jason's was perfect. Their guest house was more than we expected when we arrived. The proximity to Playa Grande beach (literally a 5-minute walk) is a big plus. They were super understanding with us given our late flight. And what about our nights listening to the howler monkeys, it was absolutely PERFECT!! Thank you so much to you and for hosting us in your home, we hope to have the chance to stay with you again very soon!!

Very sweet and friendly family, beautiful house and garden. The accomodation (the casita) lies very privat and you have also access to the pool. We even had a evening chit-chat with the family which was nice, but you can have your full privacy if you want to. the casita has everything you need, although tiny, it feels very cozy. the beach is 5min walking distance and easy to reach. also in 5min distance you can find 3-4 restaurants and bars, more "night life" is to be found in tamarindo by car. we would definitely come back and would recommend this stay!

We loved staying at Kristena and Jason’s casita in Playa Grande. Great location close to the surf, very clean and comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. Kristena’s local tips and Jason’s surf advice were a big plus. Easy communication and a private, peaceful stay — highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The property felt very safe and private, with beautiful gardens and pool area that made it hard to leave. Kristena and Jason were amazing hosts — super friendly, helpful, and full of great local recommendations (and every one of them was spot-on!). There were plenty of great restaurants and bars within walking distance, plus the beach was just a short walk away. They even provided beach chairs and a cooler! The huge blinds offered complete privacy when we wanted it, and part of the charm of Airbnb is getting to meet great people along the way. The wildlife around the property was amazing, too — we woke up to howler monkeys in the mornings, watched parrots in the trees, spotted geckos and lizards around the garden, and even saw a little gray fox right outside our sliding glass door one evening! Highly recommend this spot if you want a clean, beautiful, and welcoming place to stay near the beach.
