Access is via a short uphill drive, and a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. This ensures maximum privacy, breathtaking ocean views, and an elevated jungle setting.

The home is designed for families and small groups and includes: • 4 bedrooms total • Upstairs: one ocean view master suite and two jungle bedrooms (one queen bed + one room with three single beds sharing a bathroom) • Downstairs: one additional master suite • 4 bathrooms in total

The villa also features an open-concept kitchen, a yoga/playroom with ocean views, and expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces. Outside, guests enjoy a large terrace with BBQ and dining area, a private ocean view pool, and a dedicated kids’ pool house designed for safe play.

All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and fans. A full laundry room is available for guest use, with optional laundry service on-site.

The property manager is available offering support with local recommendations.

This home has been lovingly maintained as a family residence for over a decade and is fully equipped for children, including a stair barrier option and a secure pool design. One bedroom with three single beds is ideal for children but can also be adapted for adults.

The surrounding gardens have been carefully reforested over the past 10+ years, creating a rich, vibrant ecosystem filled with tropical flora and wildlife.

Guest access Villa Colibrí is ideally located in the heart of Costa Ballena, offering the perfect balance between privacy, nature, and convenience. The villa is just a 5-minute drive from Dominicalito Beach—known for its gentle waves, tide pools, and relaxed atmosphere—and only 7 minutes from Dominical, a vibrant surf town with supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, and nightlife.

The day before arrival, guests will receive the exact location and entry instructions. Our housekeeper will welcome you at the villa, ensure everything is prepared, and guide you through check-in.

Other things to note Housekeeping & Confort/ To ensure a truly relaxing stay, Villa Colibrí includes complimentary daily cleaning provided by a trusted housekeeper who has cared for the property for over four years.

Guests may choose between a light daily refresh at a convenient time (between 8:00am–12:00pm or 1:00pm–5:00pm), or a more general mid-stay cleaning. Our goal is to make your stay effortless so you can fully enjoy your time in Costa Rica.

On-Site Team & Local Experience/ Gaby and Cristian have been part of the Villa Colibrí team for many years and know the home and surrounding area intimately. Guests often enjoy connecting with them during their stay, and they are happy to share local insights and, if desired, help guests practice a bit of Spanish.

Gaby also has culinary experience, having worked in local restaurants for many years. Guests who wish to enjoy authentic Costa Rican home cooking can arrange meals prepared by her upon request.

Hot Water System/ The villa uses a solar water heating system supported by an electric backup during cloudy days. Please note that hot water pressure may vary slightly if multiple showers are used simultaneously.

Septic System Guidelines/ Like most homes in Costa Rica, the villa operates on a septic system. Please dispose of all toilet paper and hygiene products in the bins provided next to each toilet.

Waste & Recycling/ We kindly ask guests to help us care for the environment by using the separate recycling bins located in the laundry area. General waste, organic material, and recyclables (plastic, glass, aluminum, paper) are separated accordingly.

Nature & Wildlife/ Villa Colibrí has been part of a long-term reforestation effort spanning nearly two decades, resulting in a thriving tropical ecosystem around the property.

It is common to see monkeys, toucans, parrots, and other wildlife. Please do not feed the animals, and enjoy the unique experience of being fully immersed in nature.

Beaches & Surroundings/ The villa is ideally located for exploring some of the best beaches in the region.

Dominical Beach (7 minutes away) is known for its surf and stronger currents, ideal for experienced surfers. For swimming and families, Dominicalito Beach offers calmer waters and is the closest option to the property.

Within a 15-minute drive, guests can also reach Hermosa and Chaman beaches, the latter located within Marino Ballena National Park, home to the iconic whale tail sand formation.
