Ubicación, historia y el legado de Gringo Gulch
Casa la Bomba se encuentra en el legendario Gringo Gulch, el vecindario en la ladera que se convirtió en el enclave no oficial de celebridades de Puerto Vallarta después de la filmación de la película clásica de 1964 La noche de la iguana, protagonizada por Richard Burton y Elizabeth Taylor.
A mediados de la década de 1960, Vallarta se transformó de un tranquilo pueblo pesquero en un destino internacional. La vida en ese entonces combinaba el encanto rústico mexicano con un glamour emergente. Los estadounidenses y canadienses que se establecieron en la zona, particularmente quienes compraron o construyeron casas en Gringo Gulch, estuvieron entre sus primeros pioneros.
En aquellos días, los residentes se desplazaban principalmente a pie por las calles empedradas. Había pocos automóviles, el ritmo de vida era relajado y las noches se llenaban de sonidos de la selva, campanas de iglesia y el fluir del río. Antes de que el vecindario apareciera en todos los mapas turísticos, los propietarios disfrutaban de un ambiente apartado y de un verdadero entorno de joya escondida. La antigua residencia “Collingwood” habría sido una de las propiedades más grandiosas de esta comunidad emergente.

Casa de la Bomba is an amazing home. Comfortable, spacious, lovely views, and great amenities. This was our second time staying and we will probably stay again. Having the option for Vicki to provide a meal is a great plus, and Tomas is responsive and helpful. The central location is great to get around (though it can be hard to find on first approach), but you can also just hang at the house and relax. Seriously, an amazing home and great host!

This was our second stay at Casa La Bomba. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is as described. Great location, walking distance to everything. It was easy to call Ubers when needed. Vicky was amazing. Pool was so nice, especially in June heat. We opted to have a breakfasts and one dinner made. Highly recommend! Look forward to returning.

Tomas was responsive and informative in his communication. He was flexible and understanding when we had to modify our dates, and worked with us every step of the way. Upon arrival, he made us feel right at home, and continued working with us throughout the trip when we asked for recommendations for activities. He even set up a horseback riding adventure for us. He went above and beyond. The house was perfect. it was spacious and immaculate, decorated with beautiful artwork and in prestine condition. The pool was out favorite place to hang out because it was very warm. We used it every day and it was sparkling clean and refreshing. The housekeeper, Vicki, was on site every day making sure everything remained spotless and kept us supplied with clean towels and fresh bedding. She was so friendly and accommodating. She made us breakfast several days and it was amazing. She made fresh guacamole and fruit daily. Its hard to pick one highlight. We will definitely be back!

I would definitely stay here again!! The house was beautiful, the rooms were very very spacious, and the location was great - overall 10 out of 10. Also we didn't realize the place came with an onsite housekeeper (Vicky) but she was a very nice surprise. Great place!

House is wonderful. Pictures don't do justice. I know people say that all the time, but this is true for this one. Vicky was really great to have around and her breakfast was the best we had on the trip. It was $50 USD and then we paid for the groceries and gratuity. Note , she is around everyday at 9:00 to clean. Didn't bother us AT ALL, but just a heads up for people who like privacy. Top floor room is amazing, but note, it is the warmest room. the bottom room is the coolest but we had a girl snuggle with her allergies down there. The pool is awesome and we were lucky to see some iguana friends hang out with us. Living room is amazing to open all the doors during a rainstorm. The ice machine has a little bit of a hard time keeping up. FILTERED WATER! Overall, beyond our expectations and will be requesting to stay again. We were 5 ladies. I would say it may have been a little too large for that few of people, but we did have our own space..PLENTY!

Absolutely beautiful and incredibly welcoming. The grounds are surreal and no photo could do justice the beauty. Vicky is the most lovely person and her cooking is truly world class. Casa la Bomba is beautiful and looks even better than the pictures! Each room is on its own floor so it is extremely private. The location is great and walkable to both the Centro and Zona Romantica districts. Tomas was extremely helpful and responsive from the moment we landed!
