Joya del Mar

Herbert's listing was very beautiful you can walk out into the Caribbean sea and then there is a sandbar. We saw Star fish, needlefish and rays in the water in front of the house. I am sure if you snorkel there are more to see. The property was very clean, lovely kitchen which was well equipped new appliances. The baths in the main suite and upper suite have been updated very nicely. Lots of towels! The Junior Suite is very cozy and clean. Herbert was very prompt to reply and so understanding to all our questions and concerns. We did use the bikes and the kayak's from Maya Beach Hotel which was a very nice bonus. We would very much recommend booking with Herbert..

This property was perfect for our needs. The pictures don’t do it justice. The place is even more beautiful in person. The water is just steps away from the back porch, and the house worked wonderfully for my family. My wife and I stayed in the main bedroom, and my adult kids each had their own living areas. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The Maya Beach Hotel nearby was also very nice; we booked some tours through them and used their bikes during our stay. We dined out every night at different hotels and restaurants. We rented a golf cart, which was very useful, though we took taxis into town since the weather wasn’t great and it was more convenient. I would definitely stay at this property again. The hosts were excellent and responded quickly to all our questions.

Lovely location on Maya Beach which has the nicest stretch of beach in my opinion. Herbert is a great host + quick communication. Maya Beach Bistro amenities are so close and it was nice to have paddle boards, kayaks, and the amazingly friendly service and fabulous food at the bistro. We also use their concierge to book all of our tours. To say the people in Belize are nice is an understatement. We are well traveled and it will stay in our minds as one of the more memorable communities we’ve visited. Beach out front is stunning and perfect for a swim. Shallow and crystal clear on calm days. We were there in rainy season so the sargassum came and went. They have a yard guy that comes every other day to clean it up with is super helpful.

We absolutely loved staying at Joya Del Mar! From the friendly and responsive communications of the host Herbert, to his recommendations for our travel to the place, he was a joy to work with. The house is wonderful - flexible space for a family of 5, all the household items you'd need and plenty of extras, comfortable beds and furniture...and best of all, a perfect location. Maya Beach is the ideal spot n the openinsula- quiet and central...the Maya Beach Resort is a convenient distance few steps away for great food and kayaks...and the Joya's beach is dreamy, with palm trees and white sand and a lot of space!

Herbert's place was as advertised. He was also very communicative and great to work with.

This is a perfect location. Close to local restaurants and accessible to a lot of things to do. Outstanding views and sits right on the beach. Perfect place to watch the beautiful sun rises. We had three couples and this location was an excellent fit. Herbert was an excellent host and had plenty of great recommendations.

Paradise!

I really can't say enough good things about this place. check in was easy, it was clean, great beds, great shower, well equipped kitchen. the beach! feels very private while located on a very walkable stretch. clear water with a sandbar out front. great snorkeling right in front with lots of sea life to watch. very shallow for a long way out. well maintained each day. lovely porches to sit on and enjoy the ocean, even in the rain. fans, air conditioners. close to many restaurants and activities but nestled and quiet. it was perfect for me and my husband and two adult children with their partners. probably not great for young families but so great for us. the hosts are lovely and very helpful and responsive. highly recommend.

Herbert’s place was great! The house is right on the beach and very well-equipped. Especially the kitchen, which was the best-equipped Air BnB kitchen I’ve ever been in! There is a lovely beach right out front with your own chairs and hammock as well as two restaurants within easy walking distance. We saw tons of stingrays and sand dollars (alive) in the waters right out front and parrots visited one day, eating the fruits of a tree on the side of the property. Even though it was a bit rainy when we were there, the stay was peaceful and lovely. We definitely recommend Joya Del Mar to anyone staying with older children (who can stay by themselves upstairs) or other adults.
