At Casa de Pura Vida, you will enjoy a premium tropical living experience designed for relaxation, rejuvenation, and resetting your mind. The property is situated near the beach, offering breathtaking 180-degree views of the ocean, sunsets, and jungle. Highlights include Dominicalito Bay and Parcela Island, known for its iconic tree.

Bedrooms

Casa de Pura Vida features four unique bedrooms:

• Colibrí (Hummingbird): Master suite with a king-sized bed and a luxurious bathroom.
• Flores (Flowers): Master suite with a queen-sized bed, luxurious bathroom, and a distinctive Japanese soaking tub (“Ofuro”) carved from local Patarra stone by a Costa Rican artisan. This tub is perfect for meditation and is located at the center of the house and property.
• Mariposa (Butterfly): Bedroom with double-sized bunk beds designed to delight children of all ages. Guests here share an outdoor shower that also serves pool and mud spa users.
• Nube Blanca (White Cloud): A versatile space functioning as an office and music studio that can convert into a spacious bedroom with a futon bed. It can also serve as an artist’s studio, yoga room, conference space, or ceremonial/performance area. This room includes a bathroom with a private outdoor shower for a nature-immersive experience.

Kitchen and Dining

The fully equipped modern kitchen is suitable for gourmet chefs and casual cooks alike. On the south side of the house, the BBQ area includes:

• Mini fridge
• All necessary utensils for grilling

An extensive farm-to-table herb and vegetable garden supports healthy and flavorful meals or snacks.

Pool and Outdoor Features

The pool is designed for relaxation, fun, and wellness:

• Length: 16.3 meters (about one-third the length of an Olympic pool)
• Width: 2.5 meters (comparable to competitive swimming pools)
• Depth tailored for swimmers familiar with flip turns or beginners
• Infinity edge perfect for enjoying cocktails while watching sunsets
• Four hydrojets positioned for optimal comfort on bench seats
• Solar hot water collectors keep the pool warmer than others in the area
• Shallow north end ideal for toddler swimmers

The central plaza gardens on the east side of the house are lush and vibrant, featuring an iconic labyrinth for walking or sitting meditation. The gardens attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other wildlife.

An outdoor covered walkway connects all rooms and gardens. A unique pedestrian path leads guests to nearby Dominicalito Beach and other local attractions. Along this path, two benches honor female and male ancestors.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the entire property.

• The nearest airport is Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), approximately a 3-hour drive without traffic.
• A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for driving down the community driveway to the house.

• No glass containers by the pool; use plastic cups instead
• Keep doors closed to prevent bugs
• Turn off lights when not in use
• Tap water is safe to drink
