Important Information
Toucan Valley is located in a remote, quiet mountain community in southern Costa Rica. Reaching the villa requires driving approximately 7 kilometers along a dirt road from the main highway, Route 34, also known as the Costanera.
The route offers beautiful scenery, but steep sections and uneven surfaces may feel challenging, particularly during the rainy season. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required year-round to reach the village and villa.
The community is approximately 35 minutes from supermarkets, restaurants, and stores. A small local restaurant near Toucan Valley operates during the high season from December through April. It offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner by reservation, as well as takeaway options.
Before driving up the mountain, bring sufficient food and supplies. The villa’s full kitchen is available for preparing meals. Once you arrive, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the rainforest’s natural sounds.

Toucan Valley is a slice of paradise! We loved our Villa rental! We had two decks and different jungle views from each side and I really appreciated having the open deck space where we could watch monkeys, toucans, all kinds of interesting birds and insects! Our villa was very well equipped. The resort itself is amazing with the organic gardens, nice clean pool and use of the kitchen area when needed. The staff here are so professional and hard-working. Jonathan is like the school principal who solves everything and keeps everybody happy! This was our third visit and we will be back again next year!

A mountain place, pleasant climate, comfortable villas, well equipped, the common area “Rancho”, I liked it because it had a lot of access things to share (dishes) Quiet place. Access or walk well but only 4x4, too steep but not dangerous. The area is very quiet or a very good view of the mouth of the Terraba River.
