Luxury Beachfront Villa Sand | Ocean Views

The property was AMAZING. The staff at La Perla, especially Star, was beyond amazing! The only hiccups were using the golf cart, taxi, and excursion company La Perla offered. We also left early due to a scheduling mishap, and Jennifer refused to refund us even though she was told far in advance. I’m used to that with AirBnb hosts though, which is why I mostly stay in hotels now. I would definitely stay in this property again. The view is the absolute best on property. The only takeaways I would offer to others is double check your dates vs flights as nobody in Belize offers refunds for any reason at all. Do NOT use the golf cart company or excursion company they book with at La Perla. Do your own research and use what you find. We went with convenience and it cost of thousands. Literally. The property is a 15/10. But the hiccups we had cost the property a star. Taxi home was 35 min late causing us to miss our flight. Do your own research. Can’t reiterate that enough.

Roberto, who ran the boating operation/excursions/diving was fantastic. His crew (me. Chocolate +joe+kids) were super friendly, knowledgeable,experienced, helpful and timely. So convenient to have that operation right outside our front door! Views were amazing. Note that you cannot swim on the property- too shallow/full of sea grass and the nice turquoise waters are in the boat lane. Pool was nice. Kayaks (free) were fun and could paddle out to the reef to do some mildly interesting snorkeling. The only disappointment was that we were told on arrival there would be no housekeeping that wee (we could pay $45/day) but I think this was because it was Easter week. The property itself was really well maintained and staff was great. However, villa sand’s could use a bit of a refresh- especially the old and tired couches. Not a huge deal as we rarely spent time indoors. Overall we HIGHLY recommend! Takes a while to get to town/resturant/beaches but well worth it for the quiet/peacefulness.

We had a great stay at La Perla. Michaela is very responsive and super helpful in booking taxis/fares/golf carts and also recommending activities/food in the area. Communication was excellent, I never had to wait too long to hear a response for any questions or extra towels/toiletries etc. The home is very beautiful+clean and looks even better than the photos. The water upfront isn’t exactly a beach but can definitely lounge on the chairs or use the kayaks. The home itself is pretty far from town, which is normally is fine but the roads are not completed so it is a very rough ride to and from town ~30 mins each way. Once the roads are completed, this would not be inconvenient. Also beware of bugs, it is a tropical area so we did expect some but there is many mosquitos/some roaches. Just come prepared with bug sprays. Overall, we had a great stay and it’s a beautiful home.
