El espacio
La Casa Mango forma parte de Selvista Guesthouses, una colección de casas en la selva con "lujo descalzo" en la Isla de Ometepe. La isla es una reserva de biosfera de la UNESCO, cubierta de selva tropical y ubicada en el centro del Lago Nicaragua, el lago más grande de Centroamérica.
La casa ofrece una experiencia de alojamiento cómoda y privada con acceso directo a la selva tropical y a una granja orgánica de permacultura.

Acceso de los huéspedes
Los huéspedes tienen acceso exclusivo a toda la casa y acceso completo a la propiedad de selva y huerto, así como al restaurante en el sitio (de noviembre a agosto). Puedes preparar tus comidas en la cocina compartida con otras casas, que se usa muy poco.
El desayuno está incluido y se sirve de 7:30 a 9:00 am. Se ofrece café de la isla, té de hierba limón del jardín y un plato con varios alimentos frescos de la granja, preparados por un amable cocinero local.
Los huéspedes pueden realizar un recorrido con el encargado del sitio por la propiedad de 1 hectárea (2.5 acres), que incluye animales de granja, frutas tropicales, jardines orgánicos y ejemplos de uso sostenible y regeneración en la selva.
Otras consideraciones
La granja alberga dos pastores alemanes amigables: Navi y Loki, que brindan compañía y seguridad las 24 horas. Siempre están en la propiedad, duermen mucho y les gusta que los acaricien (opcional).
Toda la propiedad es un bosque tropical exuberante, lleno de vida vegetal y animal. Los huéspedes pueden encontrar animales pequeños y tímidos de la selva, como aves, mariposas, abejas, monos, ranas, sapos, arañas y murciélagos pequeños. A veces, estas criaturas buscan refugio dentro de la casa también.
Siguiendo nuestra filosofía, usamos remedios naturales para controlarlos, los cuales compartiremos contigo al llegar. Ninguna de estas especies es agresiva, tóxica o peligrosa para los humanos.
En la isla solo hay un animal venenoso, la coral, que es tímida, rara y tiene mandíbulas muy pequeñas.
Estas criaturas están presentes en toda la isla, que es una reserva de biosfera de la UNESCO llena de belleza natural y diversidad.

Great to accommodate a group like us. Beautiful view over one of the two volcanos from the restaurant. Reception helped us organizing the ferry crossing and had a proactive and smooth communication. Rooms were nice and clean. Would recommend for those who are afraid of insects/serpents etc to take the upper room. Would also advise to get there with a 4x4. Overall, the place was ideal for a short trip in Ometepe surrounded by the lush nature.

Just as shown in the photos! Beautiful accommodation and surroundings. The restaurant on site is a great amenity! The hosts were super helpful and responsive. Their transportation service was very reliable and always available when needed. If you would like to experience staying in a jungle, I highly recommend this place!

Beautiful treehouse in the jungle of a permaculture farm with beautiful views on the sunset. We got a good breakfast everyday and Megan was a great host helping us organize our trips on the island!

Wonderful! Private two-story accommodation with two bedrooms in the heart of the forest, secluded from civilization, in a quiet and peaceful environment with only the company of monkeys and birds. Very clean accommodation, effective mosquito nets to keep insects out. We had a lovely stay; I would come back if I visit the island again one day.

The most magical place to stay on our visit to Omotepe. We only wish we could have stayed longer than a few nights to soak up the gorgeous, peaceful surroundings.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful place. We stayed at the Mango House and it was soooo huge! The highlight, of course, was the view of the volcano. Every morning, we could observe lots of birds and monkeys. A really great place to stay and relax. The breakfast was super tasty, and the point system was really well thought out. Breakfast was one of the best on our 4-week trip! So many of the food items are home-grown and home-made, and you can taste it! Christopher and the team were always available to us, and we felt very comfortable! We would definitely come back and had a wonderful three days!

The tree top houses are super cool. Amazing views of the volcano, and super alive with birds. We very much enjoyed our stay! The following were by no means issues for us, and pointed out only for the benefit of those reading: * the road into the property is pretty rough * there is not AC (as stated in listing) * the on-site restaurant is just OK

Lovely stay! Definitely close to nature, and the restaurant was delicious and utilized local ingredients. I definitely recommend using a 4x4 vehicle if you do end up driving yourself. :)

This place is incredible! The food was so good and the property was so beautiful. Bugs obviously, but you are in the middle of the jungle so it only makes sense.

We had such a great time! This place is spacious, beautiful surroundings, offers great food, and we treated ourselves to the massages that were offered. We fell in love with Nicaragua. The people and the surroundings made our trip special. We look forward to coming back. We will book Christopher's place again and we will be recommending this one to our friends and family!
