Studio in Bagaces

A peaceful lodge in a lovely forest. The rooms were well-kept and comfortable. The climate is wonderful and we only had to use the air conditioning an hour or two when direct sun shone in our room. The pool was well-maintained. We enjoyed the restaurant. Staff was kind and responsive, especially David who outlined all the activities available, and Alexander, who was friendly and informative, even in a busy restaurant. We regret not taking advantage of the hiking trail, but watching the Oropendula and howler monkeys from our balcony made up for that. Overall, no complaints, and we would certainly consider returning for a longer stay.

Beautiful lodge ! We stayed two nights, first in a superior room and then in a standard, and both were great. The pool is heated and gorgeous setting. The restaurant seems nice , we just had a beer and the service was top notch. The location is perfect for exploring Rincon de la Veja and Rio Negro. Super beautiful location. We would definitely stay again!!

The place itself is a hidden gem in the jungle. Room was great with a stunning view and daily comfy bed. The restaurant on the other hand is absolute garbage! Don’t order anything beef! Better yet, don’t order any food other than drinks. I should’ve listened to the other reviews.

Rinconito is a beautiful resort relatively centrally located in the national park area. The staff was ridiculously kind and helpful, knowledgeable about the area. The food was great and they had all the coasta rican menu highlights. You are in the jungle. There are critters, the internet is slow and the roads are an adventure. That is why you are coming here. Go to tamarindo if that’s not for you.

Enjoy the journey! You will travel over rural roads up into the hills. We used G**gle maps and be sure it is daylight. When you arrive, the lush surroundings are beautiful. They are very accommodating and were able to rearrange our rooms so that I could be near my sister who was a last minute add on. The staff is wonderful, and David is a great host. He can recommend many things to do in the area . We hired a private guide, Jose, for our trip to the national park Rincon de la Vieja. It was very interesting, steaming rocks and views of the bubbling mud pots. Check the gift shop at the park; it turned out to be very reasonably priced. The grounds at the hotel offer some of the best locations for seeing monkeys, birds and fabulous plants . Be sure to ask about the trail to the waterfall. The path splits and we took the wrong one :( The restaurant has a limited menu but the items we tired were really good. Lots of walking and 4-wheel drive is recommended.

We loved staying at Rinconcito Lodge! We kicked off our stay in Costa Rica here and they set the bar high. The grounds are stunning, lots of views of local birds! The staff were so friendly and helpful, always patient with any questions or requests that we had. Our room was exactly as described, with an incredible view of the grounds, very clean as well. The menu is not large at the restaurant, but we thoroughly enjoyed everything that we ordered off of it. We did a guided hike in Rincón de la Vieja national park offered by the lodge and they made transportation flawless. Our guide was exceptionally excellent. There was a number of tours they offered and we wish our stay had been a little longer to experience more. Would recommend a stay here to anyone and we hope we can visit again.
