The Space
Casa Mono Congo is a modern and elegant cottage featuring verandas that overlook the farm, surrounding forests, and a lake. The house is situated within Finca Campestre, which offers trails for exploring the farm grounds.
A level parking area is located directly in front of the house, with steps leading up to a covered entrance patio furnished with a table and seating. Inside, there is an open-plan shared space combining the lounge, dining area, and kitchen, which connects to two bedrooms.
The front lakeside bedroom is called Vista del Lago, while the second bedroom, El Jardin, faces the Maderas volcano and also offers views of the lake.
Location
The property is approximately a 15-minute drive from Balgue center, accessible via a paved road. The setting is very peaceful, with minimal noise apart from natural sounds.

The farm is home to a variety of wildlife visible throughout the year, including:

This is an amazing place! In the middle of the jungle with birds and monkeys all around! Betzayda was really helpful with info and recommendations!! I really recommend this place on Ometepe!! Rent a scooter locally( for really cheap) and enjoy the island!! You won't regret it!! ❤️

Very nice cottage, spacious, well equipped. Fresh veggies from the farm were a nice touch. Would recommend having a vehicle to get around.

We had a very nice stay in the middle of nature. The communication was flawless, and they helped us organize the journey from Granada – everything worked out perfectly. We had a few crawling animals in the accommodation, which is to be expected in the surroundings in the middle of the countryside and was not a problem for us. We also heard howler monkeys every morning and once saw them. The accommodation is a bit off the beaten track of Balgüe (about a 15-minute walk to the start of the village), but that was no problem with the scooter. They also helped us organize the scooters, and they were brought to the accommodation for us. Upon arrival, we even found fresh eggs and vegetables. Thank you again for that. It was super delicious! We would book the place again anytime.

My family and I had a very pleasant stay in Balgue in Benedict and Betzaida's house. Excellent feeling of being immersed in the middle of nature, especially at night and in the morning when the forest wakes up! The house is comfortable and close to the village of Balgue where you absolutely must try the Campestre coffee that the owners of the house supply with fresh products from their farm and which offers excellent cuisine. If you love nature, go with your eyes closed, you will love Casa Mono Congo!
