The Space
Los Castillos 2 is an ideal vacation rental for large groups, accommodating up to 25 guests across three floors. Each level includes its own kitchen and living room, providing ample space for everyone to relax and connect. The property features a rooftop jacuzzi with a partial ocean view, a front yard pool, and artisan towels from Oaxaca. High-speed internet is available with 1000 Mbps Wi-Fi.
This home is situated in the gated Playacar community, which offers 24/7 security. It is within walking distance to the beach, 5th Avenue, coffee shops, restaurants, retail stores, and nearby ruins. The open-concept, open-air design allows tropical breezes to flow throughout the house.
The rental consists of two buildings that can be booked together to host up to 50 guests. Built in 1995, the property is located at the entrance of Fase 1 Playacar. The ground floor living room opens directly to the shared front yard pool, and there is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach.
Each of the three levels includes:

- Three bedrooms
Pets are welcome for an additional fee of $40 per night per pet, which includes a $10 refundable deposit and a $30 non-refundable fee. This must be requested after booking.
Please note that groceries and beverages are not provided. Guests are encouraged to visit a grocery store upon arrival or arrange deliveries in advance. The rental supplies hand soap, dish soap, sponges, towels, shampoo, beach towels, and bath towels.

A security deposit of $1,500 USD (fully refundable) or a non-refundable $59 fee is required outside of the Airbnb platform. This will be noted at checkout on Airbnb, just below your total. We are connected to Airbnb via API software and are responsible for any damages at the property.

Great place to stay and close to everything. There’s a taxi stand across the street which made getting around really easy. The mall is right next door and plenty for places to eat and drink that are walkable. The hosts were great to accommodate to all our needs. I would recommend anyone to stay there.

Overall great experience. If possible, I’d give 4.5 stars. The house is very much as described. It’s a bit dated and needs work in some areas, which we were expecting. It’s spacious though and gives room for your group to have privacy. Everything worked as expected. Absolutely perfect location as well, which is what was most important to us. One note is that this is a shared property and you won’t know your neighbors’ manners until you arrive. The large family next door loudly took over the pool from very early AM each day. There’s a very narrow walkway to the back door when you’re returning home and it was often covered in the neighbors’ kids pool toys or shoes resulting in a precarious walk after returning late at night. Other than that, the stay could have been improved by allowing an earlier check in, having a few extra towels on hand (since those provided aren’t very absorbent), and cleaning up the rooftop pool area.

Daniel and Kimberly’s place was great for our group of ten. The hosts were easy to communicate with and addressed any questions and requests quickly and kindly. The house was clean and is in a great location. Would recommend and stay again.

READ BEFORE YOU RENT: This Airbnb can host a lot of people, but it doesn’t have parking for more than 2 cars. Which is almost impossible to accommodate the 25+ it claims to be able to. Host charged us an additional $1.5k deposit fee even though Airbnb has home coverage. One night, they gave the parking spot in front of the house we were renting to the tenants they had on the other twin property next door, prioritizing a family of 7 people vs my group of 16 that had rented 3 units instead of their one. The toilets would flush unreliably. The downstairs common bathroom smelled horribly. The chairs in the kitchen had broken bottoms. There was only one set of keys for a group of 16 people. I asked for a duplicate set twice (ignored). NOT HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. If you are anywhere higher than the first floor you’ll have to clime a ridiculous amount of stairs to get to your room. Overall, dissatisfied with this stay. It has many rooms and my group fit well. But not coming back.
